Katy Perry Spotted Out With Justin Trudeau—as Her and Ex Orlando Bloom's $15 Million Marital Mansion Remains Unfinished
The 40-year-old 'Firework' hitmaker took a break from her 'The Lifetimes Tour' to enjoy a lavish meal with Trudeau, 53, on July 28.
As first reported by TMZ, Perry and Trudeau were photographed at Canadian hot spot Le Violon, where they enjoyed several cocktails and drool-worthy dishes that featured lobster.
According to the outlet, the pair met with the chef following their dinner and were so delighted that they even went back to the kitchen to thank the staff.
Security guards kept a watchful eye on the duo through the glass as they leaned in for conversation and enjoyed their meal.
The outing, which has sparked romance rumors, comes a mere month after it was revealed that Perry and Bloom, 48, called it quits after nine years together.
The couple began dating in 2016 after meeting at a Golden Globes after-party, where they fought over an In 'N' Out burger, the singer previously revealed during an episode of 'American Idol.'
According to one insider, the duo—who share a 4-year-old daughter, Daisy—remain 'amicable' amid their 'split' and are focused on co-parenting their child together.
'Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,' a source told Us Weekly. 'It's not contentious at the moment. Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.'
'They are still very much in touch and co-parenting Daisy together,' a second insider added, noting that Bloom and Perry are both planning to continue residing in Montecito, CA.
'They aren't making drastic changes for Daisy's sake. They will keep their lives in Montecito. They are prioritizing stability and consistency for Daisy.'
Rumors of a split have dogged the couple for years. However, Bloom appeared to confirm the latest speculation when he made a solo arrival in Venice for the wedding of Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sanchez—with whom Perry is also understood to be close friends.
Bloom was seen spending time with , Khloe Kardashian, and Kris Jenner after touching down in the Italian city just hours before the Bezos-Sanchez celebrations were due to kick off.
The actor was seen grinning from ear to ear as he leaned in to embrace the trio, whom he appears to have run into while grabbing some food outside of The Gritti Palace hotel, where many of Bezos and Sanchez's guests were staying.
One source told TMZ that Bloom was refusing to let the split get him down, claiming that the actor was planning to let his hair down during the wedding celebrations.
'He's the life of the party and he's going to hit the dance floor hard,' the insider claimed.
Perry did not make an appearance at the wedding—having been one of a select few guests invited to attend Sanchez's bachelorette party back in May, alongside Kim and Eva Longoria.
The pop sensation is currently in the middle of her 'Lifetimes Tour' and is due to perform in Montreal next.
When her tour wraps, Perry will return to Montecito—where she and Bloom are in the process of finishing renovations on a sprawling compound that they purchased in October 2020 for a staggering $14.2 million.
The duo were understood to have been carrying out extensive work on the sprawling abode, which is one of two over-the-top dwellings that Perry owns in the tony, celebrity-loved enclave.
It's unclear who will take ownership of the property. Records seen by Realtor.com® indicate that only Perry's name was on the deed.
She purchased the Mediterranean-style mansion just months after buying another Montecito abode over which she became embroiled in a bitter legal battle with its former owner.

TMZ photos and video of Perry and Trudeau talking to each other Monday night at a table for two at Le Violon, a fine-dining establishment run by celebrity chef Danny Smiles, set off a swirl of speculation. Perry, who recently split from actor Orlando Bloom, brought her Lifetimes concert tour to Montreal's Bell Centre Wednesday night, where Trudeau was again caught on camera appearing to have a good time as she performed hits like Dark Horse. A photo first shared Wednesday night by social media entertainment news account Pop Crave showed Trudeau, who separated from ex-wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in 2023 and resigned as prime minister earlier this year, in the crowd. Eric Schiffer, CEO of Reputation Management Consultants in Beverly Hills, Calif., tends to agree, saying Perry "put herself in a position where she threatened career extinction." But he also believes Trudeau has a lot to gain from the talk about the outing, given he left office at a political low point. But Kaur wonders if Trudeau may be trying to lean into that celebrity factor a bit more, now that he's no longer holding office. While she agrees that the rendez-vous is good press, she wonders if it might be less helpful to Trudeau's reputation if he is trying to be seen as "the serious guy" in his post-political life. "I would have probably avoided hanging out with celebrities in public spaces," she said, rather than feeding into pundits' narratives "that he kind of views himself as a celebrity."
