Wynne Evans announces 'fabulous' new project after BBC axe
The 53-year-old opera singer - who is best known for appearing in the GoCompare adverts - was kicked off the Strictly Come Dancing live tour after it emerged he had made a comment that was deemed sexually inappropriate during a photo call.
He was later axed by the BBC, who opted not to renew his one-year rolling BBC Radio Wales contract following a four-month investigation.
Taking to Instagram, Wynne has now announced his next venture as he referenced his Celebrity MasterChef victory in 2023.
He said: "Hello, Wynne here. This is my hometown of Carmarthen.
"It is ever-changing and one thing that is changing is the Welsh House. It's going to become the Welsh House by Wynne.
'I promise you it will have MasterChef dishes on the menu, it's going to have a fabulous warm welcome and I want you to come and see me, OK?
"It's going to be the home of the radio show too. So I'll see you soon. I'd better get cooking.'
It's reported he has "paid the Welsh House to take over their existing space".
A source added to The Sun newspaper: "It's a prime location in the centre of Carmarthen.
'He is trying to capitalise on his MasterChef win apparently.'
Back in May, Wynne confirmed the BBC was not renewing his contract, but unveiled plans for his new radio show.
He wrote on Instagram: 'But here's what I believe with everything I've got: what we built cannot end here. So - deep breath - here goes... We're getting the band back together.
'The Wynne Evans Show is coming back, live every day from 9am - 12pm on a new app, on Alexa and Google (we don't have to say 'smart speaker' anymore!) and at www.wynneevansshow.co.uk.
'This is our next adventure. And I need you more than ever. We will have great music, my question of the day, the mystery voice, your soundtrack stories and so much more, because we have each other again.'

PETA to sell 'kitten cakes' and 'fresh local Siamese' at seafood festival
PETA will be selling 'kitten cakes' at a seafood festival. The animal rights organisation is protesting against the Lymington Seafood Festival on Friday, July 11, by selling "locally caught tabbies," "fresh local Siamese" and "kitten cakes" at the event. The "provocative" display aims to "challenge people's speciesism" and "highlight that cats and crabs are the same in all the ways that matter." PETA senior campaigns manager, Kate Werner, said: "Crabs and other marine animals feel pain and terror just as cats and dogs do. "PETA urges anyone horrified by the thought of tucking into a tabby to extend that compassion to all animals and please, go vegan." A "kittenmonger" will be attending the event at Bath Road Park in Lymington to sell the "kitten cakes" at the entrance from 12.45pm. PETA is hoping to make people aware of the industry behind the meals, claiming that "live lobsters and crabs were impaled, torn apart and decapitated" at a crustacean abattoir. The charity also states that "chefs typically place live lobsters in pots of boiling water while they're still conscious" and that "every person who goes vegan saves the lives of nearly 200 animals each year."

Charity dog event returning to Kendal for a second year
A charity dog event is returning to Kendal for a second year. The Woof and Wag event, organised by CancerCare, will take place at Abbot Hall Park on Saturday, August 30, offering a day of dog-friendly fun. Running from 11am to 4pm, the event will feature games, stalls, entertainment and a dog show. Lisa Oliver-Hannis, CancerCare's south lakes community fundraiser, said: "We are so excited to return to Kendal with Woof & Wag. "We had the most incredible day 12 months ago and the event promises to be bigger and better this year. "With stalls, games and a dog show judged by some local legends, there is something for all the family, especially the four-legged members." The highlight of the day will be the dog show at 2pm, featuring categories such as best trick, waggiest tail and best in show. Special guest judges will be announced on the day. The event is free to attend, with a £2 entry fee per dog per show class. Entries can be booked at Woof and Wag is sponsored by Kendal-based Taylor Made Dog Centre, an award-winning doggy daycare provider. Last year's event was described as a "roaring success" by CancerCare, which supports people affected by cancer, life-shortening illnesses and bereavement. The café and facilities at the neighbouring Abbot Hall art gallery will be open to the public throughout the day. The event is open to all dogs and their owners.

Manchester transforms Piccadilly Gardens to celebrate summer of live music
Manchester will play host to music-themed markets, pop-up shops, a festival bar and more as the city prepares for a summer filled with live music. Oasis are set to return to their hometown this weekend, to play five sold-out nights as part of their long-awaited reunion. The Heaton Park gigs are just part of a summer when 1.3 million music tourists are expected to visit the city. Manchester City Council have launched MCR Live '25 to celebrate the city's music. The event will see music-themed markets, pop-up shops, a festival bar and impromptu performances. MCR Live Hub has opened in Piccadilly Gardens (Image: Manchester City Council) Guitar-themed artworks and exhibitions will also take over the city's streets, squares, shop windows and other venues. Cllr Garry Bridges, Deputy Leader Manchester City Council, said: "Manchester is already known the world over for our music and our fantastic music scene that draws people to the city from every corner of the globe. "With 1.3m music tourists expected in Manchester this summer along with the historic homecoming Oasis dates in Heaton Park coming up next week, the economic impact on the city will be significant - with bars, clubs, restaurants, shops and hotels all set to benefit. "We want everyone - Mancunians and visitors alike - to be able to enjoy this mammoth summer of live music so we're going all out to celebrate the massive contribution that music makes to the city with a fantastic programme of music themed events and activities across the city for everyone to get involved in all summer long." MCR Live Hub opened in Piccadilly Gardens on Friday (July 4) offering a range of drinks and eats. The hub will also host a range of surprise acts and DJ sets on the outdoor stage and will open all summer long - from 11am to 11pm.
