How much did Kingdom earn on Day 1?
The report points out that Kingdom collected ₹ 7.54 crore on its opening day. The collections are higher than Vijay's previous release The Family Star, which earned ₹5.75 crore on day 1. However, Kingdom failed to beat the opening day haul od his 2022 release Kushi, ( ₹15.25 crore) and his 2019 release Liger ( ₹15.95 crore)- which is also the highest opening of his career.
Kingdom saw an overall 56.73% Telugu Occupancy on Thursday. The occupancy during the morning shows were at 63.56%, and for afternoon shows it stood at 56.52%. The numbers dropped during the night shows, at 50.12%.
About Kingdom
Kingdom tells the story of a police constable turned spy named Suri, played by Vijay, who goes to Sri Lanka on a mission for the Indian government and to look for his long-lost brother Siva, played by Satyadev. The film also stars Bhagyashri Borse, who plays Suri's love interest. Many viewers who saw the film noted why the film ended with a cliffhanger. Producer Naga Vamsi confirmed at a post-release press meet that a sequel to the film will be made soon.
Kingdom earned positive reviews for Vijay's central performance, although many pointed out issues with the screenplay in the second half. An excerpt from the Hindustan Times review read, 'Vijay finally gets his redemption arc with Kingdom, both as an actor and character. After a long time, you see the theatre actor and the star in him come out. There might be moments where he fumbles, but he quickly finds his footing and plays the varied shades well.'

Dhadak 2 Box Office collection Day 4: Triptii Dimri-Siddhant Chaturvedi film struggles to retain momentum, sees 66% drop

EDhadak 2 Box Office collection Day 4: Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer seems to struggle at the box office to retain momentum as it witnessed 66.27 percent drop in earnings on Monday. Following multiple delays, Shazia Iqbal directorial movie was finally released in theatres on August 1, only to witness slow start. After making descent earnings over the weekend, the Bollywood movie raked in an estimated ₹ 1.4 crore net at the domestic box office, according to film industry tracker Sacnilk. Produced under the banners Dharma Productions, Zee Studio and Cloud9 Studio, the movie opened to ₹ 3.5 crore net and ₹ 7.90 crore net over the next two days. On its first Saturday and Sunday it collected ₹ 3.75 crore and ₹ 4.15 crore respectively. Thus, during its 4-day run in theatres, the emotionally-charged movie did a business of ₹ 12.8 crore net. Even the footfalls presented a grim picture as the movie registered an overall 14.26% Hindi occupancy on August 4. During the first three days, the romantic thriller did a business of ₹ 16 crore globally, Sacnilk reported. Overseas Collection: ₹ 2.25 crore gross in 3 days IMDb description states, 'A searing romantic drama about identity, power, and the cost of love in the world we live in.' As per Bolly movie reviewz, the film was made on a budget of ₹ 60 crore. The strong narrative focused on caste and love features an ensemble cast, including Saurabh Sachdeva, Zakir Hussain, Deeksha Joshi, and Vipin Sharma in pivotal roles, alongside lead actors. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who gave Dhadak 2 a 3.5 star rating, said, 'Sharp writing. Captivating, emotionally-charged second half... Solid performances. Dhadak2 works for the most part... But the love story lacks the soul-stirring soundtrack that elevated the first part.'

Genelia D'Souza Birthday: Commercially Successful Movies Of The Sitaare Zameen Par Actress

Genelia D'Souza Birthday: Known for her ever-charming smile, graceful screen presence and stellar acting, Genelia has carved a unique space in both Hindi and South Indian cinema. Genelia D'Souza Birthday: As Genelia D'Souza turns a year older on August 5 this year, it is only fitting to revisit some of her most commercially successful movies to commemorate her on her special day. Known for her ever-charming smile, graceful screen presence and stellar acting, Genelia has carved a unique space in both Hindi and South Indian cinema. While she continues to garner fans' love and applause for her role in Sitaare Zameen Par, here we take a look at some of her several box-office hits that made her a household name across regions. Genelia D'Souza's Commercially Successful Movies Bommarillu (2006): A breakthrough film in her career, Bommarillu saw Genelia playing the role of a free-spirited girl Hasini. The film was a massive success, thanks to her chemistry with Siddharth and her effortless performance. One of Telugu cinema's most beloved romantic dramas, the film earned Genelia several awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu. Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na (2008): This coming-of-age romantic comedy, produced by Aamir Khan, emerged as a classic cult over time. She played the lovable Aditi in the film alongside Imran Khan's Jai and their characters struck a chord with young audiences. The film was a box-office success and is still celebrated as one of the most relatable love stories of its time. Sachein (2005): Opposite Thalapathy Vijay, Genelia shone in this romantic drama that earned a lot of love from the audience. Though not a pan-India hit, the film performed well in the Tamil market, adding more to her already growing popularity in South Indian cinema. Force (2011): Genelia starred opposite John Abraham in this action-packed romantic drama. The film did well both commercially and critically, but the standout factor? It was the stunning chemistry between the lead pair. Her performance added emotional depth to an otherwise high-octane action narrative. Sitaare Zameen Par (2025): Sitaare Zameen Par, which was released earlier this year, marked a refreshing comeback for Genelia. Starring alongside Aamir Khan, the film resonated well with audiences and had a strong run at the box office. Here's Wishing Genelia D'Souza A Very Happy Birthday! Gizele Thakral talks about entering Bigg Boss Malayalam 7 a decade after Bigg Boss 9: ‘Grew up watching Mohanlal films'

Bigg Boss Malayalam's Season 7, hosted by Mohanlal, was officially launched on Sunday. One of the contestants on the reality TV show, Gizele Thakral, spoke to Hindustan Times right before she entered the house. Interestingly, Gizele was also a wildcard contestant on Season 9 of the Salman Khan-hosted show Bigg Boss in 2015. She talks about returning to the show a decade later, her fondness for Mohanlal, why she's better prepared to win the show this time around and more. Gizele Thakral was a wild-card contestant on Bigg Boss 9 in 2015. She is now a contestant on Bigg Boss Malayalam 7. Gizele Thakral on returning to Bigg Boss Gizele has appeared on multiple reality TV shows over the years, including Survivor India—The Ultimate Battle (2012), Welcome—Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki (2013), Comedy Nights Bachao (2016), and Bigg Boss 9 (2015). When asked what attracts her to reality shows, she said, 'I've always enjoyed doing them. But I'll admit, a lot has changed in Bigg Boss from the season I was part of to what we see on television today.' Nonetheless, the actor-model says it feels 'nostalgic' to return to the show despite the changes. 'One thing that hasn't changed is that audiences connect the most when you're completely authentic and real. I'll be true to myself just like I was in the previous season. It definitely feels nostalgic to be entering the Bigg Boss house again after a decade, but this time I'm even more determined to prove my mettle. I hope my fans continue to root for me like they did in my previous projects.' Gizele, who was a wild card contestant on Bigg Boss 9, left the show early due to an injury she sustained during a task. 'I've always felt I didn't get my fair chance to show what I'm truly capable of in that game. This time around, I'm ready to give it everything I've got and make the most of the opportunity,' she says, adding, 'I'm genuinely excited to experience this new format and can't wait to win the hearts of audiences. Of course, my biggest goal is to stay injury-free and give my best so I can finally bring home the trophy.' On her unknown Keralite roots Gizele was born in Rajasthan, and she grew up in Punjab and Dubai before foraying into modelling and acting. She has starred in Hindi films like Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 and Mastizaade and was a calendar girl for Kingfisher. Ask her if the diktat to speak in Malayalam on the show wouldn't be a language barrier, and she says, 'Not at all! Not many people know it, but I'm half Malayali. My mom has always wanted me to do something in the language. This felt like the perfect opportunity to honour that wish. I'm really looking forward to connecting with my Keralite roots on the show.' In fact, Gizele even grew up watching Mohanlal's films and has watched the previous season of Bigg Boss Malayalam for him. 'I've grown up watching Mohanlal's films. He's truly a legendary actor, and his screen presence has always been inspiring. I watched the last season as well, and I feel he brings a wonderful sense of calm and wisdom to the show. He's a patient and supportive host who genuinely guides the contestants rather than just presenting the show. I'm really looking forward to experiencing his energy and mentorship this season, too,' she rounds off.
