TORONTO, June 01, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Toronto Star's Culture section is a showcase of unique people who make our world more interesting, inclusive and inspiring and once each year the editorial team puts a celebratory focus on the city's Top Creators.
On the weekend, the Star dropped its annual special feature with its Top 10 picks for the best creators in our city for food, fashion, career, mental health, disability advocacy, Toronto issues, beauty and more. Together, the featured talent influences over 13 million followers at home and abroad.
'This group of inspiring Torontonians are the people shaping what we think, what we buy, how we eat, play and even what we believe,' says Laura De Carufel, Director of Lifestyle and Culture Content for the Toronto Star. 'They're part of a new class of entrepreneurs powering the city and pushing it forward.'
The Top 10 celebration rolled out on thestar.com and in the Saturday Star print edition, May 31. It will be capped off with a special event at Arcadia Earth the evening of June 3, where the featured creators are being feted by the Star and a group of engaged client supporters who've put their brands forward in this collaborative initiative.
Party-goers (by exclusive invitation) will get to meet and mingle with the celebrated creators while exploring the immersive environment of Arcadia Earth, experiencing spring fashion with returning partner, Reitmans and partaking of exquisite sips with the Arterra Wine bar. Other event partners include Daniel et Daniel, Steam Whistle and Corby Canada.

iA Financial buying RF Capital Group for $370 million
QUÉBEC — iA Financial Corp. Inc. says it has reached a deal to buy RF Capital Group Inc., which operates under the Richardson Wealth brand, for $370 million. Quebec City-based iA Financial says it's paying $20 per common share in cash for the independent wealth management firm, while financial obligations including debt and preferred shares bring the total consideration to $597 million. iA Financial says the deal will expand its national footprint and adds more than $40 billion in assets under administration to the firm. It says the purchase price represents a 102 per cent premium to RF's 30-day volume weighted average share price on the TSX. iA Financial says the deal brings the total assets under administration in its wealth division to about $175 billion and creates scale advantages. Bell partners with AI company Cohere in latest step to grow tech service offerings
MONTREAL — Bell Canada has announced a partnership with artificial intelligence company Cohere to provide full-stack sovereign AI solutions for government and enterprise customers across Canada. Cohere will make its AI services available through Bell AI Fabric, a project announced by Bell in May to support Canadian businesses' and governments' AI needs. Bell AI Fabric will incorporate Cohere's agentic AI platform North, which will be available to government and enterprise customers, enabling them to create AI agents and automation solutions without having to manage AI infrastructure. Bell AI Fabric will also include six AI data centres, along with software infrastructure such as Cohere's large language models "customized for Bell to offer unique capabilities for the Canadian market, machine learning and cloud software." It says all elements are "underpinned by leading cybersecurity protections combining physical security, network security, and operational resilience." The Montreal-based telecom company says Bell AI Fabric also relies on its new tech services brand Ateko, which is a cornerstone of its ambition to build a $1-billion tech services business.
