PAGASA: Tropical cyclone developed in northern monitoring domain; no effects on PH

GMA Network4 days ago
State weather bureau PAGASA on Friday said a tropical cyclone has developed in the northern part of the agency's monitoring domain.
However, PAGASA said the tropical cyclone has no direct effect on the Philippines and is expected to move towards southern Japan.
'Sa kasalukuyan, isang bagyo ang nabuo sa hilagang parte ng PAGASA monitoring domain (PMD) ngunit wala itong direktang epekto sa bansa at kikilos patungong southern Japan,' PAGASA said.
(Currently, a tropical cyclone has formed in the northern part of the PAGASA monitoring domain (PMD) but it will not have a direct impact on the country and will move towards southern Japan.)
Meanwhile, PAGASA said that from August 8 to 14, a tropical cyclone-like vortex (TCLV1) may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) but it has a low chance of becoming a tropical cyclone.
'Dahil dito, nababa ang tropical cyclone threat potential sa loob ng forecast period,' PAGASA said.

LPA's trough to bring rains over Bicol, Quezon, parts of Samar Island

Bicol Region, Quezon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the next 24 hours because of the trough of the low pressure area, PAGASA said in its Tuesday afternoon forecast. At 3 p.m., the LPA was spotted 570 km east of Virac, Catanduanes. The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Mindanao, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, and Palawan. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are expected across the country. The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 5:41 a.m. Wednesday. —VBL, GMA Integrated News

Following the floods, Ninong Ry looks for new a location for studio

Ninong Ry is looking for a new location where he could set up his studio after enduring the recent floods brought about by simultaneous storms and the Southwest Monsoon. On Facebook, the popular food vlogger said it was too tiring to even think of going through the same ordeal. "Sobrang daming oras, energy, at pera ang nasasayang tuwing mangyayari to kaya palagay ko, oras na. Oras na siguro para humanap kami ng bagong studio," he added before making a shoutout to his followers. "Baka lang meron kayong alam na pwedeng lipatan na location, pwedeng bahay, or kung ano man na pwede naming i-fit out na maging studio," he said adding his preferred some place with parking, near Malabon so that his team, presumably residents of the LGU, will not have a hard time coming to the office. "Sana hindi gaanong binabaha," he added. In 2024, he already endured the same thing when his Malabon home flooded because of Typhoon Carina. According to Ninong Ry, he initially wanted to stay put because "naniniwala kasi ako na swerte tong lugar na 'to pero hindi ba kung naniniwala ka sa konsepto ng swerte, dapat naniniwala ka din sa konsepto ng malas? Eto na nga siguro yun," Ninong Ryan said. Metro Manila and nearby provinces were submerged in floods after non-stop rains from simultaneous typhoons and the Southwest Monsoons. Several dams in Luzon also had to release water, adding to the flooding problem. — LA, GMA Integrated News
