Leroy Sané leaves Bayern Munich on Mondeay "on good terms" after five years, but without a final goal and much fanfare.
The Germany winger becomes a Galatasaray player from Tuesday onwards while Bayern continue at the Club World Cup.

Sané failed to score one-on-one against goalkeeper Agustin Rossi late in stoppage time of Bayern's 4-2 last 16 victory over Flamengo in Miami on Sunday.
Board member for sport Max Eberl announced a farewell ceremony for Sané on Monday at the team's camp in Florida, saying: "It made sense that he was there. We are grateful that he did that."
Sané, 29, signed for Galatasaray until 2028 before the start of the tournament. He was picked by coach Vincent Kompany into the Club World Cup squad even though it was clear he wouldn't be there for the later stages.
"It's a bit special with the tournament that you can't play it to the end," Sané said after his final minutes.

But he added: "I've really enjoyed the two weeks again because it's a special squad, it's a unit. I was delighted to be here on the pitch with the lads.
"I didn't come here for a holiday. I could have had that somewhere else."
Sané featured in three of Bayern's four games at the tournament in the United States, showing his speed but also failing to convert several big scoring opportunities.
Sané clarified that reports of an all but agreed Munich contract extension were not true, and insisted that "we are parting on good terms."
Captain Manuel Neuer said: "I will miss him. Leroy is a great person." Midfielder Leon Goretzka added: "I would have liked Leroy to score at the end. It was a great five years with him."
Sané said he hopes that youngster Jamal Musiala, one of his best friends in the squad, will inherit his number 10 shirt because "the lad has big things lying ahead of him."

Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal ‘had to climb Mount Everest without oxygen' in shock Club World Cup win over Manchester City
Simone Inzaghi has only been head coach of Al-Hilal for a matter of weeks, but already he has led the Saudi Arabian side to the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup. Al-Hilal secured a spot in the last eight of the tournament in sensational fashion with a dramatic 4-3 victory against Manchester City on Monday, scoring twice in extra-time to produce arguably the biggest shock of the Club World Cup so far. Brazilian forward Marcos Leonardo scored the decisive goal in the 112th minute – his second of the game after Phil Foden had equalized for Man City. Inzaghi, who only recently oversaw Inter Milan's Champions League final defeat against Paris Saint-Germain, showered his players with praise after the match. 'The key to this result was the players, and the heart they put on the pitch tonight,' he said, per Reuters. 'We had to do something extraordinary because we all know Manchester City, that team. 'We had to climb Mount Everest without oxygen and we made it. All the players were exceptional in everything, in the possession phase, the non-possession phase.' Bernardo Silva bundled in the first goal of the game at Orlando's Camping World Stadium inside 10 minutes, setting up what many expected to be a routine victory for the Premier League side. But Leonardo leveled the match at the start of the second half when he headed in Rúben Dias' block, before Malcom's breakaway goal moments later gave Al-Hilal a 2-1 lead. The advantage was short-lived with Erling Haaland scoring from a corner, and the game remained at 2-2 for the rest of the 90 minutes after Haaland had an attempt cleared off the line by Ali Lajami. Kalidou Koulibaly's header put Al-Hilal back into the lead in extra-time, but substitutes Rayan Cherki and Foden combined to send the match to a thrilling conclusion. And that came courtesy of Leonardo's winner when Sergej Milinković-Savić's header was saved by Ederson into his path. Al-Hilal will now face Brazilian side Fluminese in the Club World Cup quarterfinals having ended a 20-game winless run for Asian teams against European opponents in FIFA club competitions. 'We knew that it would be a difficult game against one of the best teams in the world and we wanted to show our ideas, our talents and our power,' said Koulibaly, per 'We made a very good game; we took our chances so we can be happy. We wanted to show that Al-Hilal have the power and the talent to be here and we showed a great mentality.'

Leverkusen to develop a new winning team, Rolfes says
Bayer sporting director Simon Rolfes talks to the media during the team's final training session, ahead of Wednesday's UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg soccer match against Bayern Munich. Rolf Vennenbernd/dpa Bayer Leverkusen still see themselves as a top-four contender in Germany but need some rebuilding after the departure of Florian Wirtz, Jonnathan Tah and coach Xabi Alono, managing director for sport Simon Rolfes has said. Rolfes told Tuesday's Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger paper it was impossible to simply buy the same quality again because it would require three times their budget. Advertisement Rolfes spoke of a transition period after Leverkusen had famously won the Bundesliga unbeaten in 2024 and the German Cup the same year under Alonso, and came second in the league last term. "The (new) coach (Erik ten Hag) will have a high level squad but we are also buiding a squad that has room for improvement. It is a departure towards something new," Rolfes said. He still named top-four status their ambition because "you are able to win titles if you are a top-four team. The German Cup is part of that." "We must develop a winning team," he said, referring to the rise of Wirtz after the sale of Kai Havertz to Chelsea in 2020. Advertisement "We didn't replace Kai Havertz with a complete player. We could replace Kai with the young Wirtz, the 16-year-old Florian via a years-long development," he said. Wirtz and full back Jeremie Frimpong have now left for Liverpool, Tah is at Bayern Munich, and Alonso new Real Madrid helmsman. Leverkusen are said to receive around €140 million ($164 million) for Wirtz, and Rolfes said: "In the end we are all happy with the transfer. Florian with his decision, we with the whole package. "It is definitely a very, very good step for Florian. It is the right thing to go abroad," he said.
