Jenna Bush Hager Hates the Term 'Mom Friends': Here's Why originally appeared on Parade.
Jenna Bush Hager admitted she isn't a fan of the term "mom friends," and she revealed the reason why during the Friday, July 11, episode of The Today Show.
While talking to guest co-host Dwyane Wade during the Jenna & Friends segment, the duo discussed their friends who have children.
"Some of my best 'mom friends' — which I sort of hate that term because it implies they're not my true friends — but some of my best mom friends are from the time I had my 12-year-old," Bush Hager, 43, said, referring to her eldest daughter, Mila.
In addition to Mila, Bush Hager also shares daughter Poppy, 9, and son Hal, 5, with her husband, Henry Chase Hager.
Bush Hager explained that when she first had Mila, she was part of a "baby group" with some mom friends. She insisted that the friendships were genuine, and she said one person in the group is still one of her "best friends in the world."
"Now we have pre-teens, and so to go through every stage of life together? I think it is necessary to have that community," she said.
Wade, 43, agreed with Bush Hager. "Especially for your kids. Once they get their friends, these playdates [are] big in the world now, obviously, right? So you have to have a relationship with their parents," the father of five said.
"One, for them to allow their kids to come over or vice versa, but also two, if their parents are going to come over, [you got to get along]," the retired athlete continued.

Throughout her time in the spotlight, Bush Hager has been open about the lessons she's learned as a parent. While speaking to People in 2020, the former first daughter admitted that having her first child made her realize that she needed to put her phone down and be more present.
"I went back to work after three and a half months and, in the beginning, I would try and respond to emails while hanging with Mila, but I felt so distracted,' she said at the time. 'Now, I leave my phone in another room and give Mila all my attention when I'm with her.'

Aaron Rodgers Breaks Social Media Hiatus for 1st Time After Surprising Marriage

Aaron Rodgers has returned to social media after tying the knot. In a Wednesday, July 2, Instagram post, Rodgers, 41, was all smiles while posing with fellow Pittsburgh Steelers teammates Scotty Miller, Ben Skowronek, Pat Freiermuth, Calvin Austin III, DeKaylin Metcalf and Roman Wilson. 'Summerball,' Rodgers captioned the upload. News broke in June that Rodgers agreed to a one-year contract with the NFL team after spending two seasons with the New York Jets. In NFL legend Troy Aikman's mind, he hopes that Rodgers is able to 'recapture some of his form' with the Steelers in the fall. (Rodgers tore his Achilles in his first game with the Jets in 2023.) Why Aaron Rodgers' 1st Official Picture as a Pittsburgh Steeler Is Continuing to Spark Engagement Rumors 'I think it's a good fit, actually,' Aikman, 58, told Us Weekly in a cover story. ESPN reported that Rodgers visited the Steelers' practice facility in March but remained tight-lipped about his future plans. 'I wasn't stringing anyone along,' Rodgers said during an April appearance on ESPN's The Pat McAfee Show. 'I wasn't holding anyone hostage. I was honest from the jump about where I was at mentally and some of the constraints I have in my life right now that warrant my attention.' Rodgers continued, 'I'm open to anything and attached to nothing. Retirement could still be a possibility, but right now my focus has been — and will continue to be — on my personal life. And that's what I've told the coaches. There's still conversations that are being had. It's all been very honest lines of communication.' Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers Reveals He's Married After Ring Speculation The same month Rodgers joined the Steelers, he revealed he secretly exchanged vows when asked about a black band on his left finger during a meeting with reporters at Steelers minicamp. 'It's a wedding ring,' he said while sharing that he exchanged vows a 'couple months ago.' Rodgers did not reveal the identity of his partner at the time. He announced in April that he was in a 'serious relationship' while appearing on The Pat McAfee Show. 'I have off-the-field stuff going on that requires my attention,' he said at the time. 'I have personal commitments not knowing what my future was going to look like after last year that are important to me.' Rodgers added, 'I have a lot of things that are taking my attention and have, beginning in January, away from football. That's been where I've been focusing most of my attention.'

Rosie O'Donnell Responded To Trump's Citizenship Threat — And She Didn't Hold Back

President Donald Trump is once again reviving his long-running feud with Rosie O'Donnell — this time with a baseless threat to revoke her citizenship. In a Saturday post on Truth Social, Trump referred to the actor and comedian as a 'threat to humanity,' citing her as someone who is not in 'the best interest' of the country. 'Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,' he wrote. 'She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!' Trump's remarks appeared to be in response to a TikTok video O'Donnell posted on Friday, in which she criticized the GOP and the current political climate of the U.S. 'He is definitely in a decline, and if you can't see that, I don't know what to tell you,' she said. The Emmy-winning actor later fired back with two Instagram posts addressing Trump's threat. In the first, she took direct aim at the president. 'The president of the usa has always hated the fact that i see him for who he is - a criminal con man sexual abusing liar out to harm our nation to serve himself - this is why i moved to ireland,' she wrote. 'he is a dangerous old soulless man with dementia who lacks empathy, compassion and basic humanity - i stand in direct opposition all he represents - so do millions of others - u gonna deport all who stand against ur evil tendencies - ur a bad joke who cant form a coherent sentence #nevertrump' In a second post, O'Donnell referenced their decades-long public battle and added that she resides 'rent-free in that collapsing brain' of Trump's. 'you call me a threat to humanity –but I'm everything you fear:a loud womana queer womana mother who tells the truthan American who got out of the country b4 u set it ablaze you build walls –I build a life for my autistic kid in a country where decency still exists.' O'Donnell first shared in March that she had relocated to Ireland on Jan. 15, calling the decision 'pretty wonderful.' 'I miss many things about life there at home and I'm trying to find a home here in this beautiful country, and when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that's when we will consider coming back,' she said. A woman says her daughter's teacher gave her a friendly hug at the end of the year — and it seemed to bother another mother The woman shared her story on a popular community forum in order to get input from others The majority of post commenters told the woman not to overthink the other mom's comment — and said she's probably just jealousA woman says that her daughter's teacher recently gave her a hug at a school event — and it didn't seem to sit well with another mother. The woman detailed her experience in a forum on the U.K.-based community site a place where women can go to seek advice from other women about interpersonal dilemmas. In her post, the woman said that she recently attended an end-of-term function at her daughter's elementary school. 'As I was about to leave, [her] teacher came over to me and said she just wanted to say thank you for the lovely feedback I had written about her and how she's really loved teaching [my daughter],' the woman wrote. She added, 'She then threw her arms around me and gave me a hug, and said thank you, and [that] she will miss [my daughter] so much.' 'I didn't really think anything of it,' the original poster (OP) continued, adding, 'But another school mom saw this and said [the teacher] didn't hug any of the other parents." 'I'm ignoring,' the woman said at the end of her post before asking, 'But just wondered if this was a bit OTT [over the top]?!' The vast majority of post commenters said they agreed that the other mom's comment was unnecessary — but also said the OP shouldn't let it get to her. '[The teacher] felt appreciated. Don't let other people make you overthink this,' one person wrote. 'Why would she hug every parent?' another user offered. 'She was saying something to you that she wasn't saying to the other parents. The fact that you didn't think anything of it in the moment suggests that it was appropriate in that moment.' The same person added, 'If some other parent sought me out to tell me that the teacher hadn't hugged all of the parents, I'd think that parent was a meddling weirdo who I would wish to avoid.' 'Screams of jealousy,' someone else commented, adding, 'Ignore her, OP.' Read the original article on People
