Gethin Jones is 'ticking all of the boxes' for Helen Skelton, reveals a source. The BBC Morning Live co-stars have found themselves in the centre of the rumour mill as news of their reported romance circulated last week.
And now, a source tells Mirror that Helen and Gethin have a 'natural' chemistry and revealed the duo have been growing closer.
'Helen and Gethin are definitely getting close, they've been on a few outings together. Gethin has helped her though some really tough times, it's not been an easy few years for Helen, but he has been a tower of strength for her," said the source.
Helen's tough times began in April 2022 when the 41-year-old announced her shock separation from husband, rugby player Richie Myler, just four months after the birth of their third child. The split was reportedly unexpected, leaving Helen blindsided.
She stunned followers at the time when she broke the upsetting news on Instagram, saying, 'Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children. '
Following the separation, Helen moved back to her hometown in Cumbria with her children, Ernie, nine, Louis, eight, and Elsie, three, and has since focused on her career and kids.
She enjoyed a stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2022, which she said allowed her to grieve the end of her marriage. Following Helen and Richie's abrupt separation, Richie, 35, began a new relationship and has welcomed two more children since.
Sharing that this is the first time Helen has felt a spark since her split, our source claimed: 'Helen and Gethin get on really well and are keen to get closer. They're getting to know each other on a deeper level and are really enjoying each other's company. They make each other laugh and Gethin is the first person since Helen's divorce that she's actually been keen on.'
They go on to say, 'Gethin is very kind and ticks all of the boxes for Helen, he has made her feel good again. She thinks he's a good egg and it's something that Helen is hoping will grow into a real relationship. They would like to do more work together too since they work so well together, everyone can see that it's natural.'
The popular TV stars, who are both presenters on BBC daytime show Morning Live, left the recent Bafta TV Awards together and first fuelled romance rumours in March with their joint 24-hourroller-skating challenge for Comic Relief.
During the challenge Gethin, 47, publicly praised Helen's resilience and sense of humour. In a heartfelt Instagram post, he described their deep mutual respect, sharing that even after spending 24 hours straight with the mum-of-three, he called her within an hour to debrief, reflecting their strong connection.
Gushing over how much he enjoyed spending time with Helen, Gethin also let slip a secret nickname for her, as he captioned a snap of the star sporting her red nose, 'famous ferret'. Commenting on the partnership at this time, one fan replied, 'You two belong together. Love you guys. Epic challenge, a pleasure to watch.'
Another who noticed their connection from the post gushed, 'Cooooome on!!! It's staring you both in the face!!'
Since then, the pair have been spotted together at high-profile events, including the TV Baftas and a charity ball, where their cosy, relaxed demeanour together didn't go unnoticed. Fans have also taken to social media to express their excitement over the potential pairing since the rumours came to light.
One took to X to say, 'Jeez u can feel the chemistry between Gethin and Helen in Morning Live lol'. While neither Helen nor Gethin has confirmed or denied any romantic involvement, their interactions continue to fuel the rumour mill.

Jack P Shepherd, known for his role as David Platt on the long-running ITV soap, recently tied the knot with his partner, Hanni Treweek, but revealed that he had a certain issue prior to the big day Jack P Shepherd has dubbed some of his recent wedding guests "f***ing idiots" for asking a specific question about the proceedings. In a new episode of the On The Sofa podcast with fellow Coronation Street stars Colson Smith and Ben Price (recorded prior to his marriage to Hanni Treweek), the David Platt actor opened up about his wedding preparations. On Saturday (July 26), the happy couple tied the knot at Manchester Cathedral, surrounded by loved ones. It included his podcast co-hosts, Colson and Ben, who would serve as his groomsmen on the day. Jack noted at the time of the recording that it was the "kick-b*****k scramble" week before the wedding, a time when they had to address the "nitty gritty bits", prompting Colson to ask if there had been any cancellations. He said: "I've had a few f***ing idiots saying things like - it's mainly family." Colson interjected, noting that he was, in fact, a "f***ing idiot", to which Jack replied: "Oh, was ya?" Jack continued: "Saying stuff like, 'Well, where do we get ready, because the wedding's at two, but we can't check in till three?' I said, 'At f***ing home, you idiot. I mean, where do you think you get ready if you can't get ready in the hotel?" Elaborating, he pointed out that people could arrive at the hotel and do what "normal people" do by dropping their bags off. Despite this, it appears that the wedding went off without a hitch. In what they described as "the wedding of our dreams", Jack arrived in a red Mustang and wore an off-white suit, sunglasses and bow-tie. Meanwhile, Hanni, donning a tiara, reportedly wore a skirt and off-the-shoulder top. Also in attendance were Jack's son, Reuben (whose outfit matched his dad's) and the actor's on-screen mum, Helen Worth, who was accompanied by her husband, Trevor Dawson. As they left the venue, the newlyweds could be seen beaming and exchanging a number of kisses as they headed to the wedding car, as white confetti cascaded over them. Jack and Hanni first met on the set of Corrie when she was working as a scriptwriter. Fast forward to over a year ago, and Jack popped the question while the couple enjoyed a safari in Tanzania. The soap actor first joined the long-running ITV show in April 2000 and has since become a much-loved fixture of the series. In advance of the big day, Jack took to Instagram to express his thanks to the wedding planners. Veteran striker Steven Fletcher has praised Wrexham after being released from the club owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, calling it his most enjoyable football experience Veteran striker Steven Fletcher was forced to leave Wrexham despite wanting to prolong his career in Wales – but he has still spoken glowingly about his time at the club. Fletcher, who played in the Premier League with Burnley, Wolves and Sunderland earlier in his career, said in a post on Instagram in May that he was departing "with a heavy heart" and "not by choice". But despite his disappointment, he has spoken warmly about his two-year spell at Wrexham and the positive environment at the club in words which will be music to the ears of Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Speaking on the Golf Life YouTube channel, Fletcher said: "There's something about it, the town, the club, the fans and the staff. There's just a massive togetherness. I've been in football for 20-odd years and it's the most I've enjoyed my football. "I've played in the Premier League, I've played at the highest levels, and no disrespect to the clubs I've been at, but in that moment I really enjoyed my football." Fletcher is now mulling over his next move and admitted he is "95 per cent sure" that his football career is over. He said his plans to retire come despite some of his old teammates encouraging him to keep going. He added: "I'm 95 per cent sure that I'm done. When you say it out loud, you get a weird feeling. There's a bit inside of me that wants to finish on a high and I don't want to go chasing something that I'm not going to find." Fletcher's efforts for Wrexham were clearly appreciated by the club's owners. Reacting to him being released on social media, Reynolds said he would miss his "leadership and wit". Addressing Fletcher directly, Reynolds said: "Words aren't agile enough to capture what you've brought to Wrexham, the sport, and the lives of myself and this whole town. You aren't a PART of greatness. You ARE greatness. "I don't really know what a co-chairmen is supposed to do or say in these moments and I don't much care. I'm gonna miss you. I'll miss your your leadership and wit and the way you remind everyone - including me - that this is also FUN. Like the first day we met, I'm here for you any time and any place. Always." McElhenney later opened up about how difficult he found saying goodbye to Fletcher while appearing on the podcast. It came after the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor revealed enjoyed a round with golf with Fletcher in the US shortly before he was released. "Even just bringing up his [Steven Fletcher's] name is difficult because the brutal reality of football it just reminds me of how quickly you can go from spending all day with him here in Los Angeles promoting the show and playing golf," he said. "[Then] putting him on a plane, sending him home and within 24 hours, Phil released him from the club, and that was difficult."
