Tennis fans call out Nick Kyrgios for allegedly fat-shaming broadcaster Ben Rothenberg in social media post
Kyrgios, 30, responded to a post on X, formerly Twitter, which showed a picture of Rothenberg.
The original post by the account @TennisCentel claimed that Rothenberg was 'built like a groundhog' - a notion that Kyrgios appeared to back with the comment as he responded 'tennis central'.
While Kyrgios may have made the comment as a joke, its tone was not appreciated by fans of the sport, who were quick to voice their support for Rothenberg.
One user commented: '[Rothenberg is] still more relevant in tennis than you.'
A second remarked: 'Bully and nothing else. Just sad. Used to support you.'
Bro Ben Rothenberg is built like a groundhog LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/ShuA340nq4

Rothenberg responded to Kyrgios' comments as the pair engaged in a war of words
Kyrgios then replied to further stoke fuel on the fire that was raging between them
Another stated: 'This isn't high school, grow up'.
In response to Kyrgios, Rothenberg wrote: 'Bro you have tweeted about me four times already this month and it's only July 6th. Let's work on getting you a job again.'
The former world number 11 responded: 'Awwww Benny I'm doing just fine. Someone's feelings are hurting...not so fun anymore is it?'
Their online battle of words marks the latest episode of a clash between the pair that has lasted almost five years.
The American journalist has repeatedly called for Kyrgios to be removed from covering tennis events - most recently for controversial tweets demeaning a WTA player.
'Honestly a bit surprised to see ESPN didn't yank Nick Kyrgios off air mid-#USOpen final, seeing his most recent disparaging tweet about a WTA player circulating,' Rothenberg wrote last year during the US Open.
That came after he replied to a tweet responding to a post about Jannik Sinner's girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya - in which he wrote 'second serve'.
Kyrgios was also critical of the doping saga that engulfed Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner last year.
Tennis fans were quick to lambast Kyrgios for his comments
The Italian was later banned for three months for breaching the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) rules last year after he provided two positive drugs tests.
A further comment read: 'And then you wonder why the BBC dropped you from their Wimbledon coverage.
For someone who has been open about their mental health struggles, it's pretty damn obvious that you've still got a hell of a lot of work left to do in that department.'
Kyrgios - a Wimbledon finalist in 2022 - was axed from the BBC's coverage of this year's tournament following backlash that he was included as part of the original presenter line-up for 2025.
He was part of the broadcaster's coverage of the event in 2024, 12 months after Kyrgios had admitted to assaulting his former girlfriend Chiara Passari.

Cierra Ortega exits 'Love Island USA' villa following backlash over resurfaced racial slur posts
Cierra Ortega, a contestant of this summer's 'Love Island USA' left the villa just a week before the finale of the hit reality series is set to air on Peacock. Her departure, announced Sunday, followed weeks of uproar from viewers after old posts from Ortega resurfaced that contained a racial slur against Asian people. The show's narrator, Iain Stirling, announced Ortega had departed 'due to a personal situation' early in Sunday's episode. Ortega becomes the second contestant this season to depart the show amid controversy due to past social media posts. Yulissa Escobar abruptly exited last month in the second episode after clips of her using racist language resurfaced online. Her departure was also not explained in the show. A spokesperson for the show declined to comment Monday. Ortega's family posted to her Instagram story Sunday evening following the announcement of her departure, asking the public 'for compassion. For patience. For basic human decency. 'While Cierra is not in the villa anymore, she is still away. She hasn't had the chance to process any of this or speak for herself," her family wrote. "But we know our daughter. We know her heart. And when she returns, we believe she'll face this with honesty, growth, and grace.' Her family said they, along with Ortega's friends and online supporters, have received threats, attacks and cruel messages on social media, noting that 'no one deserve that kind of hate, no matter what mistakes they've made.' 'Love Island USA' is an American spin-off of the original U.K. series and is airing its seventh season. The show airs daily except Wednesdays and brings young singles together in a remote villa in Fiji to explore connections with the ultimate goal of finding love. Couples undergo challenges and are encouraged test their romantic connections as new contestants are introduced. Islanders are routinely 'dumped' from the villa throughout the series as stronger couples form. The winning couple receives $100,000. The show, which strips contestants of their phones or access to the outside world, has previously asked fans to avoid cyberbullying contestants. Host Ariana Madix called for fans to stop doxxing and harassing the show's stars in a recent interview with The Associated Press. Ortega entered the villa at the end of the first episode as a bombshell, one of the first in a steady stream of new contestants who come in after the show began, often expected to disrupt existing couples and create new relationship dynamics. Ortega quickly coupled up with Nic Vansteenberghe, whom she remained with up until her departure. Her exit broke up one of the few consistent couples of the season. The couple had just announced a few episodes prior they were 'closed off,' a popular 'Love Island' phrase to indicate neither contestant was interested in exploring a connection with any other islander. 'Before Cierra had left, my mind was clear. I knew what the future would look like, and now, I'm lost,' Vansteenberghe said during Sunday's episode. Vansteenberghe stayed on the show as a single islander after Ortega left, and he ultimately re-coupled with fellow contestant Olandria Carthen before the end of the episode. Belle-A Walker, a contestant who was dumped earlier this season, took to Instagram to express heartbreak over Ortega's resurfaced posts. Walker, who is Asian American, said she is 'deeply appreciative' of the show's producers 'for taking a stand and making it clear that racism of any kind is not tolerated.' 'Asian hate is oftentimes overlooked and dismissed. But being a first-generation American, I have personally witnessed and experienced how real and hurtful comments like these are," Walker wrote on her Instagram story page. "It is my hope that this situation can help shed light on how big of an issue anti-Asian hate really is.'

Chrissie Swan rents out her $2.5million Melbourne property at a surprising price
Chrissie Swan fans can now rent her house in Melbourne for just $730 a week. The Aussie TV presenter, 51, who has recently undergone a major transformation, purchased the retro-style property back in 2022 for $2.535million and is now looking for tenants to occupy the home. Garland House, named after the famed Wizard of Oz star Judy Garland, is made up of only two residences sharing the 600-square-metre allotment, one of which could be your new home. The unique mid-century property is an easily liveable home, boasting two large bedrooms and one bathroom, as well as a laundry and open-plan living space – great for entertaining. Situated 11km from the CBD, the home is centrally located and is just a quick stroll away from Camberwell Junction. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The recently renovated abode also hides a large garden in the back, providing its guests with privacy, retro designs, and a breath of fresh air. Finding parking in Melbourne may seem like an impossible feat, but Garland House comes with two undercover car spaces – a rarity in Victoria. Perhaps the property's most attractive feature is its vibrant personality, one that comprises a nostalgic 1970s style and Chrissie's undeniable eye for design. With teak timber panelling, colourful accents and funky wallpaper, the home is as lively as its owner. Natural light pours into the high-ceilinged home at all angles, making the two-bedroom abode feel spacious and liveable. The Nova radio host previously listed the property in May with a price range of $2.6million and $2.86million. It is not known whether she sold the property. Two months ago, Chrissie revealed just how far she's come on her weight loss journey with some remarkable throwback photos. The media personality took to Instagram to share a series of images that were taken 20 years ago, back in 2005. The photos showed Chrissie, then 31 years old, just two years after her runner-up turn on season three of Big Brother. One image showed a much fuller-faced Chrissie, smiling as she posed in the passenger seat of a car. The other, taken around the same time, showed Chrissie posing with 'bestie' Rebecca Thompson. 'I was a baby,' the Nova radio star captioned the first image. 'A cute little juicy baby with layers and foils. Happy to see the love of the giant hoop earrings started early,' she added. The throwback photos serve to highlight Chrissie's remarkable weight loss journey, with the radio host losing a reported 90 kilograms in the past three years. She has drastically transformed her physique, citing a new diet, daily walks and sobriety as the secret behind her slim-down.

Julian McMahon's ex-wife Dannii Minogue spoke about their marriage just a month before his tragic death
Julian McMahon 's first ex-wife Dannii Minogue coincidentally spoke out about their 18-month marriage five weeks before his tragic death, at age 56, following a secret cancer battle. The Australian 53-year-old originally met the Australian-American hunk in 1990 while co-starring as Emma Jackson and Ben Lucini on the set of Seven Network soap opera, Home and Away. Three years later, Dannii (born Danielle) enlisted Julian to play her boyfriend in her music videos for This Is It and This Is the Way before art imitated life and they tied the knot. But Minogue never won over the approval of McMahon's late mother Lady Sonia, who didn't want her entering the political world dominated by his late father Sir Billy, the former Prime Minister of Australia. 'She thought that I was wanting to be part of that world [and] that I was going to take, take, take from them,' the I Kissed a Boy consultant-host recalled on How to Fail podcast on May 27. 'And it was the furthest thing from the truth and not what I wanted at all. So she made it very clear that I was not to be around and she didn't want me a part of anything. Yet Julian wanted me to be his wife. 'I knew that their [mother-son] relationship there was a lot had gone on and he loved and adored her, but they were not close in many ways. So it was a wild time. I mean, it was a lot to take on and that's how swept off my feet I was and thought that it could still work.' The marriage began falling apart after The Residence actor moved to New York City to star in NBC soap opera Another World while Dannii flew back and forth from London. 'Each time I came back there was just something not right,' Minogue remembered. 'Things I saw in the apartment, there were people around that I didn't know, and he was just very very distant to the point that he called it off. But in the meantime, we'd run through all my money.' The Thinking 'Bout Us singer said Julian 'was financially on his feet earning all of his money, keeping his money' while she was 'paying for everything.' 'So I was not only personally absolutely brokenhearted but I was broke. I had no money in the bank,' Dannii confessed. 'My family helped me out [with a loan] and then that was my job to heal my heart, to find some confidence in myself not being so stupid at choosing people around me that were not there to support me.' In 1995 - the same year their divorce was finalized - Minogue needed money so badly she posed nude for the Australian edition of Playboy. 'I should have been at that position where I could pick and choose stuff,' the younger sister of Kylie Minogue explained. 'And now I couldn't with anything. So that was that was difficult.' Dannii doesn't regret the 'dark and bleak' debacle because it gave her 'a toolbox' so she won't be 'that person' making 'those mistakes' in the future. 'It's nice to be able to look back now,' Minogue - who's been dating Swiss musician Adrian Newman since 2014 - concluded. 'I'm with a gorgeous partner and I absolutely love him.' The I Kissed a Girl consultant-host welcomed 15-year-old son Ethan Edward Minogue Smith during her four-year relationship with babydaddy Kris Smith, which ended in 2012. Dannii also previously dated America's Got Talent producer-host Simon Cowell, Greek shipping heir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, F1 driver Jacques Villeneuve, and Bros bassist Craig Logan. Julian just celebrated his 11th wedding anniversary with third wife Kelly Paniagua on June 30, but they were together as far back 2003. 'With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,' Kelly said in a statement. 'Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.' McMahon is also survived by his 25-year-old daughter Madison Elizabeth McMahon from his two-year marriage to second ex-wife Brooke Burns, which ended in 2002. The Surfer star is best remembered for his roles in CBS' FBI franchise, The WB's Charmed, and FX's Nip/Tuck.
