The Stanley Pup event is back for 2025 with more dogs, more teams, and a deeper mission. A year after its debut, the show expanded its reach to include all 32 NHL franchises. The playful event pairs puppies with NHL team themes.
While encouraging pet adoption through uplifting storytelling and star-studded appearances.
The show will air on truTV in the US on Friday. At 7 p.m. ET, Sportsnet in Canada on Saturday at 6pm, and NHL Network on Sunday at 7pm, it will also be available on NHL digital platforms, unlike its 2024 premiere. This featured only playoff teams, this year's edition. This ensures every NHL fan sees their team represented, from Seattle to Sunrise.
This broadened approach came after fan feedback, and many felt left out when their team wasn't included last year, the producers have responded with full inclusion in 2025. This is creating a show that's not only more engaging. But also more equitable for fans across the league.
Animal adoption and community support at the core

Every dog appearing in the show is adoptable, and many have already found homes through last year's success. This year, the impact is growing beyond puppies, as the production has added cats. This will serve as part of the ice crew and in-game entertainment, even a rescue pig will sing the national anthem. This is emphasizing the message that all animals deserve love and care.
The production also highlights stories from around the country, such as the efforts of Los Angeles rescue groups who stepped up during the Pacific Palisades and Altadena wildfires.
With assistance from Petco Love, nearly 500 animals were cared for, many of whom have since been reunited with owners or adopted.

Stop Killing Games movement mysteriously accused of violating EU transparency laws; Ross Scott responds
(Image via @Accursed_Farms/YouTube) A viral campaign to stop publishers from deleting games has found itself in an unexpected spotlight this week. The Stop Killing Games movement, known for its bold stance on digital ownership, is facing allegations that it violated EU transparency rules, claims that have since sparked both outrage and support across Europe's gaming community. Mysterious complaint targets unpaid work by popular campaign figure Ross Scott On Thursday, July 18, 2025, social media started buzzing after reports emerged that the European Commission received a quiet but serious complaint targeting the Stop Destroying Video Games Initiative, the official EU-facing campaign aligned with Stop Killing Games. The industry filed false claims against the "Stop Killing Games" initiative The complaint names Ross Scott, widely credited with sparking the movement, as someone who allegedly provided undisclosed professional services worth over €100,000 in labor. But the twist? Scott says he's not even a member of the official initiative, and his work has been entirely unpaid and voluntary. Complaint timing raises eyebrows as lobbying pressure mounts What's raised even more suspicion is the timing. The Stop Killing Games movement has recently gained momentum across the continent, rallying players who want to keep access to the games they've paid for, even after publishers pull the plug. Several MEPs, including Vice President Nicolae Ștefănuță, have expressed vocal support for the cause. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Premium 3 & 4 BHK ( 1079 - 1829 ) from ₹72.03 Lacs* at Jessore Road Srijan Realty Learn More Undo The campaign has also been featured in major gaming forums and YouTube channels. Now, with the legal complaint suddenly emerging, some supporters smell foul play. Scott believes the anonymous move may be part of a coordinated effort to silence the campaign, especially after industry groups like Video Games Europe issued sharp criticisms of his work earlier this year. EU documents may already clear Scott of wrongdoing Interestingly, this isn't the first time Scott's role has come up. Back in early 2024, the initiative reportedly discussed his involvement with EU officials, and no objections were raised then. If proven, that could directly undermine the legitimacy of the current complaint. For now, the EU Commission has yet to respond publicly, and it remains unclear whether a formal investigation will follow. Whether this complaint fizzles out or escalates further, one thing's certain; the fight to preserve digital games just got a lot more political. 'Either you give everything or rest': Irfan Pathan to Jasprit Bumrah ahead of Old Trafford Test
Jasprit Bumrah (Getty Images) NEW DELHI: Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has called on pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah to step up and give his absolute best, if the team needs it, in the crucial fourth Test against England at Old Trafford in Manchester. With India trailing 1-2 in the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar series, Bumrah is set to feature in his final Test of the series, beginning Wednesday — a must-win clash for the visitors. India will bank heavily on their premier fast bowler to deliver a match-defining spell and help level the series before heading back to London for the decider. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Pathan, while expressing his admiration for Bumrah's skills, stressed the importance of pushing beyond limits when the team demands it. He also underlined the value of total commitment at the international level, saying players should either give everything or sit out. "I adore Bumrah; his skill is outstanding. However, I believe that when you play for India, you have to give it your all. When you talk about a five-over spell, when Root comes, you are not bowling the sixth over. You have to give it all. Either you give everything or you rest properly. When it comes to a nation or a team, when you are playing for a team, you play for them. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Top 15 Most Beautiful Women in the World Undo Team always comes first," Pathan said on his YouTube channel. Injuries, rain, availability concerns: Team India on edge in Manchester | Exclusive updates ahead of 4th Test Pathan's remarks come in the wake of Ben Stokes' heroic performance at Lord's. The England captain, named Player of the Match, bowled 44 overs — his third-highest workload in a Test — and made vital contributions with the bat, scoring 44 and 33 in the two innings. He also effected a game-changing run out of Rishabh Pant. Despite managing a heavy workload and his own fitness concerns, Stokes dug deep to bowl a spirited 9.2-over spell on the final morning, helping his side defend 192. He followed that up with a ten-over burst after lunch, during which he dismissed Bumrah to seal England's dramatic 22-run win and take a 2-1 series lead. Bumrah, who returned for the third Test after being rested in Edgbaston, bowled 43 overs across both innings. But Pathan suggested India needed more, especially in high-stakes moments. Jofra Archer's return to Test cricket after a four-year hiatus due to injuries was another example Pathan pointed to. Archer, despite limited match practice, hit speeds of 150kph, troubled the Indian batters, and ended with match figures of 5/105 — bowling in partnership with Stokes during critical phases. Pathan clarified that he isn't questioning Bumrah's commitment but urged him to consistently go the extra mile — much like Stokes and Archer — to help India win. Anshul Kamboj Joins India Nets After Nitish's Injury | Debut Incoming at Manchester? "Not questioning that he hasn't put in efforts. He has bowled overs. There is no doubt about it. However, when it comes to going the extra mile for the team, you have to do that. Bumrah will remain at the top for a long time if he continues to win games regularly for India. You have to put in that extra effort when the team needs you. Ben Stokes did that, and Jofra did it after four years," he added. India's squad for the 4th Test: Shubman Gill (C), Rishabh Pant (VC & WK), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Kuldeep Yadav, Anshul Kamboj.
