23 "Blatantly Out Of Touch" Celebrity Moments
Do you all remember WHERE YOU WERE when you discovered the video of when Ellen Degeneres asked Mariah Carey if she was pregnant — then when Mariah denied it, Ellen attempted to force Mariah to drink alcohol to "prove it." Just ME?...maybe — but it SHOOK me to the core. I think about it every 2–3 business days. I couldn't believe how CRINGEY and inappropriate and "out of touch" it was — causing me to plummet into a deep Reddit hole filled with similar stories. So when Reddit user lastgreatdynasty24 asked, "What's your favorite blatantly out of touch moment by a celebrity?" I rushed to share all the the wild celeb moments the internet STILL can't get over. "When Kelly Osbourne was on The View and tried to criticize Trump by saying, 'If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?' You can literally see that she was waiting for the audience to cheer. 💀" "Gwyneth Paltrow. No specific example, just everything she does." "When Justin Bieber said this after visiting the Anne Frank museum: 'Anne was a great girl, hopefully she would've been a Belieber.'" "Justin Timberlake complaining about how during COVID, he had to take care of his kid 24/7. 'We're mostly commiserating over the fact that 24-hour parenting is just not human.'" "The infamous Grimes interview with Vanity Fair. It's a wild read, but by far the wildest part was when she said that Elon lives like he's below the poverty line. Seriously, fuck off." "Kendall Jenner not knowing how to slice a cucumber and Kris yelling, 'Chef, can you cut that for her?' The whole thing was just 👌" "Demi Lovato complaining about a frozen yogurt shop having sugar-free frozen yogurt. She claimed they were catering to eating disorders. Did she ever think that some people are diabetic but would still like to have a sweet treat?" "Chrissy Teigen tweeting about how her mom is constantly losing her AirPods and she had to buy her ten pairs, which is easily more than $1k altogether." "The 'Imagine' video led by Gal Gadot during the pandemic." "That Larry King interview when he asked Danny Pudi what luxury he couldn't live without, and Danny said, 'Good coffee and nice socks.' But Larry was baffled by that and questioned, 'Socks? Really? Why not private jets?' Which resulted in the iconic quote: 'Larry, I'm on Ducktales.'" "Kim Kardashian flying 50 people to a private island during peak COVID, to 'feel normal' for a few days." "Kim K telling women to get off their fucking ass and work." "When Ellen said, 'Quarantine is like everyone in here is gay.'" "Any celebrity that denies nepotism." "When Vanessa Hudgens said, 'I'm sorry but like, it's a virus, I get it, like, I respect it but at the same time like, even if everybody gets it, like, yeah people are gonna die which is terrible but like, inevitable? I don't know.'" "Trolling or not, I will always love Mariah and her noting that 'we don't pay for electricity in America; it's free.' Never not hilarious." "Kendall Jenner's Pepsi commercial." "One time when Kanye West was in jail, he used his one allowed phone call to order Mr Chow to go and had it delivered to him in prison." "Adele complaining about how she can't afford to live in London. Yeah. I can see how it might be difficult with a cool quarter billion in your account." "Meghan Markle on the Ellen show saying your first child is a 'hobby' and your second child is 'real parenting.'" "David Guetta's tribute to George Floyd's family" "Any celebrity that says everyone needs therapy and preaches it over and over. Good therapy is NOT cheap." "Rich celebs at the top spewing the cliches like 'money doesn't buy happiness.' Yeah, OK, Jim Carrey, you probably haven't been to a grocery store in 20 years." In the comments, tell me the MOST cringey celeb moment that made you scream "THEY ARE SO TONE-DEAF!" Cierra Ortega of ‘Love Island' exits the villa amid backlash for resurfaced racial slur posts
This season of 'Love Island USA' has lost yet another contestant after their past use of a racial slur resurfaced online: Cierra Ortega left the villa and will not return. 'Love Island USA' narrator Iain Stirling announced during the Sunday episode that Ortega, 25, had departed the hit dating competition series to deal with 'a personal situation.' Though he did not provide additional details about her exit, Ortega recently landed in hot water for her repeated use of a slur for Chinese people — and often Asian people in general — after social media posts resurfaced online. In an Instagram story from 2023 that made the rounds on Reddit and X, Ortega used the slur as she explained her Botox procedures, writing, 'I love getting a mini brow lift to open up my eyes and get that snatched look.' Another post that raised flags among critics was a 2020 TikTok video where Ortega uses a version of the slur to describe her smile in an Instagram caption. 'Love Island USA' streamer Peacock and parent company NBCUniversal did not comment to The Times about the terms of Ortega's exit, but the reality star's parents spoke out online about 'one of the most painful weeks of our lives.' In a lengthy statement shared to Ortega's Instagram story Sunday evening, her parents wrote, 'We've seen the posts, the headlines, the hurt and the hate.' While acknowledging the outcry and upset around the resurfaced posts, Ortega's parents alleged that their daughter has also been subject to online hate including threats and 'cruel messages.' Ortega's family, friends and supporters have been caught in the crossfire, they wrote: 'it's heartbreaking.' The statement added: 'It's uncalled for. And no one deserves that kind of hate, no matter what mistake they've made.' The missive also confirmed that 'Cierra is not in the villa' and had yet to 'process any of this or speak for herself.' Confident that Ortega will 'face this with honesty, growth and grace,' her parents wrote that the reality TV personality will take accountability on her own terms. Ortega left 'Love Island' a month after contestant Yulissa Escobar faced similar backlash. Escobar was out by the season's second episode amid social media outcry over her use of a slur for Black people. Video posted on Reddit and TMZ showed Escobar using the slur during a podcast conversation. Escobar apologized for using the slur, writing in a statement that she 'used it ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it.' Until Ortega breaks her silence on the controversy, her parents said they have a request for supporters and critics alike: 'We're simply asking for compassion. For patience. For basic human decency.' The 'Love Island USA' Season 7 finale will air Sunday on Peacock.

Disney World's secret lost and found ‘sales' have diehard fans lining up for hours to snap up luxury sunglasses, designer strollers
Spoiler alert — Disney fans lose tons of sunglasses, and some devotees are willing to make the trek to buy them up in bulk for a bargain. The US parks, California's Disneyland and Orlando's iconic Walt Disney World, welcome thousands of guests a day, but without fail, portable chargers, miniature plushes, and themed souvenir cups make their way into the parks' bustling lost-and-found centers. While the parks strive to return all items to their original owners — they even ship identifiable items back to their proper places, free of charge — the volume of missing things is often too much to truly handle. For many park-goers, the headache of submitting a report also isn't worth the return of their items. @magicalsoulfoodie Disneyland Lost and Found sale at Goodwill. All items are unclaimed after a long time and donated to good will. This is one day annual event. All unsold items goes to your local stores. Tag me if you find! This event was so unique and mind blowing. I didn't expect to buy anything at all as I am allergic to used items that are wearables. If I found some amazing Tokyo disney ears I would have kept them. I am looking for beat up light sabers so I can spar with friends. ( this way you can keep the light sabers you spend a lot of money buying in mint conditon) Look at how many I found in the end of video. All of the ones I bought was $2. The last item is a huge sign stand holder for Conventions. I have always wanted this. They gave it to me for $10. I saw a few sippers, and did not see any popcorn Buckets. There was two boxes of lanyards and pins. There was only light saber boxes not the collectible light sabers. The items like electronics and chargers are prices as marked. There were some suitcases as well. For more details check my story. There was a lot of coffee makers, blow dryers, humidifiers and curling irons. I am very sad that everybody keep losing their sunglasses. If Goodwill sells all these sunglasses they can raise a lot of money 💰 The line was brutal. If you want to come, don't bring kids and bring a lot of patience. Like and save this post, send to someone who needs! Disneyland, in partnership with the Goodwill of Orange County Marketplace, also hosts an annual sale near the park, and lucky SoCal residents are privy to massive discounts. Most Disney devotees, like @magicalsoulfoodie on TikTok, scour the Internet for dates and times, line up hours in advance, and rifle through thousands of unclaimed items with one goal in mind: big-ticket items like wagons, strollers and other expensive items. Spending between $3 to $5 per item is the norm at this sale, which typically happens in August, but premium items like wagons can fetch up to $20. Many fans also brave the lines — and the packed parking lots — for the sunglass sales. Bargains on branded shades are abound at the event, and a pair of coveted Rayban or Prada glasses only sets shoppers back $1. While the annual Orange County sale is certainly high-profile — especially on social media pages dedicated to discount Disney goods — California isn't the only state to benefit from Disneyphiles' disregard. Every three months or so, Disney World makes a bulk donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida, containing everything from brand-new items forgotten on park benches to personal heirlooms. Much like the Santa Ana marketplace, for many Disney-goers, the second-hand prices are too good to beat, so when the store updates its Facebook page with news of a fresh shipment, devotees rush to the store to investigate. They have no problem spending an entire day driving, waiting, searching and then checking out. Though many fans depart these Florida and California sales with a haul of discount Disney swag, others leave with a mission. In the comments of @magicalsoulfoodie's TikTok, one Disneyphile revealed their own wild journey that resulted from one of these sales. The user attended the 2023 Santa Ana sale and came back with a custom backpack. After they bought it that summer, a friend posted a photo to Instagram featuring them and the backpack, and was quickly contacted by a random woman. The woman asked to buy it off the user, and 'paid pretty well' for it. After the commenter parted with the backpack, they found out that it had belonged to the woman's recently deceased daughter. Another penny-pinching park-goer visited the sale in 2024 and vlogged the experience on her TikTok, @jxselin_. Scattered among the piles and piles of Mickey ears were several stranger items — lone champagne glasses, paper towel holders and adult-sized sneakers. Though she was looking for a wagon, she told commenters that she didn't end up staying long or buying too much, as she felt 'too overwhelmed.' However, she showed off a small haul in a follow-up video, and a black handbag seemed to have caught the eyes of a few viewers. Three different women commented, claiming the purse was theirs, but these ladies weren't as lucky in the bag department — finder's keepers, and all that.
