What punishment could Luis Enrique face for João Pedro incident?
Luis Enrique was seen making contact with João Pedro (23) during an argument between the Chelsea striker and the PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma (26). Footage appeared to show the manager grabbing João Pedro's face and making contact with his neck. The striker then fell to the floor.
The PSG head coach has justified his actions, telling reporters in his post-match press conference that he was attempting to pull the players apart: 'It was a completely avoidable situation for everyone. Different people were involved in this. We had to avoid problems. I wanted to prevent it from escalating.'

However, he could now face disciplinary action, if, as Le Parisien explains, FIFA decide to open proceedings against the head coach. FIFA's articles say a person could be punished for 'at least three matches or an appropriate period for an assault, including punching, elbowing, headbutting, kicking, biting, or spitting against an opponent or any person other than a match official.'
And as the French outlet notes, there is precedent. Guadalajara's head coach was suspended for three games in January after he kicked Nicolás Fonseca (26) during a match against Club Leon.

MLS: Matt Turner Joins New England Revolution on Loan From Ligue 1 Club Lyon
Matt Turner is returning to his MLS roots as he looks to get back into position to compete for the starting job as the U.S. national team's goalkeeper. Turner will join the New England Revolution on loan from French Ligue 1 club Lyon through June 2026, the Revolution announced Friday. The deal includes an option to purchase the contract of Turner, who will be a designated player on the Revolution's roster for the remainder of the 2025 season. He'll be eligible for targeted allocation money in 2026. One of the reasons that Turner was displaced by New York City FC's Matt Freese as the U.S. starter at goalkeeper for the CONCACAF Gold Cup matches in June and July was that he hadn't played consistently at the club level for France's Lyon. Turner, 31, became the No. 1 U.S. goalkeeper ahead of the 2022 World Cup and had started 14 consecutive competitive matches for the U.S. and 23 of 24 before the Gold Cup. Turner will now look to get back to that level in New England, where he made his pro debut in 2016. He last played for New England in 2022, posting a 53.3% save percentage over five starts. Chelsea, Man Utd Get Boost After PSG Make Stunning Decision on Star Player
PSG are facing growing uncertainty at goalkeeper, with Lucas Chevalier emerging as a possible long-term solution. Gianluigi Donnarumma is still under contract through 2026, but talks about extending his deal have stalled, and no new agreement seems near. Meanwhile, Manchester United are considering their options in goal, and Donnarumma is reportedly one of the candidates. According to a previous report from Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, Donnarumma remains at PSG, but his agents are exploring potential moves. Manchester United, Manchester City, Galatasaray, and several Saudi clubs have all expressed interest. For now, Donnarumma is committed to PSG and isn't pushing for a transfer—unless the right opportunity arises. Internally, he could still compete with Chevalier for the starting spot, with Luis Enrique expected to make the final decision, Hawkins adds. PSG are ready to end the Gianluigi Donnarumma eraOn Friday, RMC Sport reported that Donnarumma was informed by his management of Chevalier's upcoming arrival. Moreover, the Chevalier case, a priority for PSG's management, is progressing well, per the report. Negotiations with Lille have accelerated in recent days, with both parties agreeing to the idea of a transfer this summer. A five-year contract is already on the table for the French goalkeeper. PSG continue to discuss with Lille a deal around €40 million excluding bonuses. Furthermore, confidence is high on both sides regarding the feasibility of the transfer. Now clearly informed about the situation surrounding the reported arrival of Chevalier, Donnarumma knows what to expect. He has two choices: leave this summer — which PSG would welcome — or stay, which could lead to some tensions this season. In Luis Enrique's mind, Chevalier is expected to become PSG's number one goalkeeper upon his arrival. But if Donnarumma decides to stay, he will not be sidelined, given his history, performance last season, and what he represents in the locker room. This could therefore create some uncertainty in a more strategic position. Recently, journalist Duncan Castles reported that Chevalier is set to be PSG's starting goalkeeper. The Parisians want Gianluigi Donnarumma to leave this summer after the Italy international declined a contract extension, with interest coming from Inter Milan, Manchester United, and Chelsea.
