As per the university, the MRes in Mathematical Sciences is an advanced research-focused Masters degree which students can complete in one year full-time .
During the course tenure, students will enhance their research skills through undertaking an original, extended research project supervised by expert staff as well as their knowledge of key mathematical and/or statistical topics through a selection of taught modules.

These activities are tailored to improve specific aspects of a user's wellbeing, grounded in the COMPAS-W scale's proven link to brain function, genetics, cognitive performance, and even physical health indicators.A 12-week clinical trial is currently underway, with NeuRA actively recruiting at least 500 adult participants from the general public. Eligible individuals will receive free access to the app, committing to just 10 minutes of daily use and three short surveys. This trial aims to further validate the app's effectiveness and gather user feedback for refinement. Funded by the Mindgardens Neuroscience Network and developed by Miroma Project Factory, ReNeuWell exemplifies a successful collaboration between research and industry to address real-world mental health needs. In a first, women outnumber men in IIM-Visakhapatnam new MBA batch
1 2 Visakhapatnam: For the first time since its inception in 2015, the flagship PGP (MBA) programme at IIM Visakhapatnam has seen female students outnumber their male counterparts in the current academic year. In the new batch, which was inducted this week, women make up 51% of the cohort, while men make 49%. The third-generation IIM has given admission to 338 students for the 2025-27 batch, with engineering students dominating the cohort with nearly 60% representation. Female representation in the new batch is nearly 11 percentage points higher than the 2024-26 batch, which has 40% women. Across the IIM system, female representation now typically hovers around 35-40%, marking a significant improvement from two decades ago. In the early 2000s, women constituted just 10 to 15% of PGP cohorts. This positive change has been driven by initiatives like supernumerary seats for women, gender-diversity weightage, and targeted outreach efforts. Recent admission figures further highlight the gradual push for gender diversity across campuses. IIM Sambalpur surprised many in 2024 by admitting 76% women to its PGP batch. Meet the brains behind Aagneya, IIT Madras' solar car for global race in Australia
A group of 34 students from IIT Madras have designed and built a solar-powered race car named Aagneya, which will represent India in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2025 in Australia. This now allows us to achieve a panel efficiency that closely matches the 23-24% efficiency of the individual solar cells.'TACKLING ENGINEERING CHALLENGESLike any ambitious project, Team Agnirath faced several technical hurdles. 'While designing, the biggest problem we faced was making the designs such that it's easily manufacturable,' a team member shared.'To overcome it, we talked to the vendors and made the design changes which were needed," the person the manufacturing front, they encountered issues with misalignments and defects during assembly.
