Tipster reveals when the Google Pixel 10 Pro will go on sale
Last week, Google revealed the designs of all four Pixel 10-series phones and the week before that it had already confirmed that the new series will be unveiled on August 20. That's the unveiling, but when will they be available for purchase?
We were contacted by someone who works at a phone shop, claiming to have seen documents that state that the Google Pixel 10 Pro sale will go live on August 20.
This might apply to the entire 10-series, though it might not – last year Google launched the vanilla and Pro XL models in August, then the small Pro and the Pro Fold in September. Given that the tip was specifically for the 10 Pro, we don't think that the 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL will be split this time around. Whether the Pro Fold is ready in time is another question.
We can't verify the claims of our tipster, but the information is not surprising either. Note that the August 20 date most likely refers to the start of pre-orders - Google should begin shipping pre-orders and kick off open sales of the new models several days after that. The Google Pixel 10 series
Looking back at the 9-series, it was unveiled on August 13 and pre-orders for the vanilla and Pro XL models started immediately after the event. Shipping and open sales for those two started on August 22. Deliveries of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold were set for September 4 and open sales began the day after.
If the Pixel 10 series follows the same timeline, pre-orders will start on August 20 and the first models will be shipping by the end of the month. Nine days later is August 29, a Friday. There's a good chance that the upcoming Google Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a will follow the same timeline as the Pixel phones.

Future iPhones could get a brightness and battery boost with new OLED tech
Apple is reportedly looking into bringing its iPad Tandem OLED technology to the iPhone. This will help increase future iPhones' brightness and prolong battery life. Back in 2024, Apple introduced the OLED iPad Pro, which sports Tandem OLED panels. Apparently, now, the Cupertino tech giant is considering using a similar approach on future iPhones, according to sources of The Elec. Reportedly, LG Display talked to Apple about a Simplified Tandem OLED panel back in 2024. Also, Apple has discussed the tech with its main OLED partner, Samsung, as well. According to the report, Apple has yet to decide on whether to go ahead with the Tandem OLED iPhone and may still be in talks with LG and Samsung about it. Typically, Apple operates on a two-year schedule for development and mass production of its devices. The report suggests that the first iPhone models with this tech may appear after 2028. The iPhone 16. | Image Credit - Apple The rumor claims that Apple might use something called Simplified Tandem OLED in future iPhones. It's a new type of screen tech based on Tandem OLED, which uses two layers of OLED stacked on top of each other. This helps make the screen brighter, use less power, and last screens are great because they light up on their own and don't need a backlight. In regular Tandem OLED, both layers have all three colors – red, green, and blue – so you get extra brightness and better efficiency. But in the simplified version, only the blue subpixels are doubled in the second layer. The red and green stay in just the main layer. This works because blue pixels wear out faster and use more power, so giving them a boost helps the screen last longer without needing to double short: it's a smart way to get the benefits of Tandem OLED, but with lower cost and simpler production. If the rumor is true, future iPhones could have brighter screens that use less battery – and be cheaper to make, too. Back in July 2024, reports indicated that Samsung and LG Display were working on a version of the technology for micro OLED panels. This could potentially be included in an upgraded Apple Vision Pro.

Verizon might regret what it did to its most loyal base
Verizon just made a pretty unpopular move and customers are not holding back. The company recently removed its loyalty discounts – something that long-time users really valued – and now the backlash is coming in strong. – Independent-Syrup256, Reddit, August 2025 And it is not just a few frustrated users. Others who've been with Verizon since the Bell Atlantic days are saying they are done, too. For context, Bell Atlantic was one of the original Baby Bells formed after the breakup of AT&T in 1983 and it later merged with GTE to form Verizon in 2000. So, yeah, we are talking decades of loyalty here. – Gregorygregory888888, Reddit, August 2025 Plenty of long-time Verizon customers are clearly reaching a breaking point – and they are not holding back. –bd485, Reddit, August 2025 Another user chimed in with a similar story, only this one involves their whole family plan. – aspenextreme03, Reddit, August 2025 – RoundChampionship840, reddit, August 2025 And for others, the decision has already been made. – Refrigerator-Tasty, Reddit, August 2025 So yeah, it is clear: people are leaving. And the sentiment is pretty consistent – years of loyalty are being met with price hikes, disappearing perks, poor customer service and AI-driven support systems that just don't cut it. Still, despite everything, Verizon does have one major edge: coverage. If you live outside of a major city or don't really care about cutting-edge 5G speeds, Verizon 's 4G network still offers the most reliable coverage in many areas. That is something a lot of users aren't willing to give up, no matter how annoyed they are with price changes and customer service. So, if you are trying to figure out which carrier is right for you, it really comes down to what you value more – wider coverage or better pricing and perks. And if you are still on the fence, we've got guides to help you compare the best phone carriers based on where you live and how you use your phone.

Finding smashing deals is my job, and I just found one worth your attention. I'm talking about the slightly older but still impressive Sony WH-1000XM4 . These high-end wireless Bluetooth headphones are a massive bargain at $150 off on Amazon right why should you consider these instead of the newer WH-1000XM5 (or the newest XM6 )? Simple — both models cost way north of $300, so these buddies are the clear choice if you're looking to save the most. Grab the ~$350 headphones for less than $200 and upgrade your listening experience at more reasonable getting quite a bit for your money, too. These premium headphones may not be a spring chicken, but they deliver high-end active noise cancellation (ANC) that's good enough to silence most unwanted outside noises. Truth be told, the more contemporary models perform even better, but again — they also cost way performance is another area where the XM4 shine despite their age. They deliver just enough bass to keep the energy up, excellent mids that make instrumentals sparkle, and high-frequencies for superb clarity without also getting special features like Bluetooth Multipoint connection, auto pause when you take the headphones off, and even speak-to-chat functionality. On top of that, they have fast-charging support, which gives you up to five hours of music within a 10-minute charge. However you look at it, that's a lot of features for over-ear headphones that can now set you back less than $ these the best wireless headphones? Not necessarily.
