Glastonbury Festival fans ditch music to queue up for Banksy poster
Secretive street artist Banksy is well known for stunts at Glastonbury and now you can buy a poster of one of them
Glastonbury Festival fans have got the chance to pick up a thought provoking and valuable souvenir this year - a poster thought to be made by street art legend Banksy.
The poster went on sale on Wednesday for £20 and is already fetching up to £500 on auction site eBay as Banksy fans who are not at the music festival are desperate to get their hands on it. The poster depicts migrants in a boat being passed along a sea of hands.
It appears to be a drawing of a Banksy art stunt which happened at Glastonbury in 2024 when a life sized model version of the migrants and the boat was passed over the top of the audience during Idles set.
During the band's headline set at the an inflatable raft holding dummies of migrants in lifejackets was lifted above the heads of the thousands-strong audience on the Other Stage.
Banksy posted a clip of the stunt - thought to symbolise small boat crossings of migrants in the Channel - on his Instagram account, his usual way of announcing a new creation.
In the past he has made other artworks at the festival and also made a bulletproof vest for Stormzy to wear on stage when he headlined the Pyramid stage.
Banksy is understood to be involved in the art installation Terminal 1 at Glastonbury which is there to view this year and began last year.
To enter the "re-purposed airport" Terminal 1 'celebrating migration' last year people had to answer a question from the UK government's citizenship test correctly.
A Terminal 1 poster sold last year was rumoured to be made by Banksy and the stall selling Banksy posters is closeby to Terminal 1.
The poster is also limited to one per person, whereas the other posters are not, fueling the theory Banksy is connected to it.
But like much of his work he is unlikely to confirm or deny involvement.
He gave away posters to children at an art installation he did in Croydon but never endorsed them or said they were official, in order to stop them selling for thousands of pounds or fights breaking out at the venue.
Banksy's work is mainly done on the streets, but his last official exhibition was in Glasgow in 2023 and was entitled Cut and Run. It lasted for 3 months and was thought to be touring to other countries in the future.
Last summer he posted a number of art projects featuring animals around London including monkeys, wolves, pelicans, goats, cats and elephants.

Oasis' Noel Gallagher branded Glastonbury Festival as 'woke' amid political statements chanted on stage by some acts. Oasis star Noel Gallagher has described Glastonbury Festival as "kind of preachy and a bit virtue-signalling," even though the festival has supported left-wing political causes for over 50 years. The guitarist previously spoke about the festival in a podcast interview, stating: "It's getting a bit woke now, that place, and a bit kind of preachy and a bit virtue-signalling. "I don't like it in music - little f**king idiots waving flags around and making political statements and bands taking the stage and saying, 'Hey guys, isn't war terrible, yeah? Let's all boo war. F**k the Tories man,' and all that. It's like, look – play your f**king tunes and get off." Noel, continued speaking to Matt Morgan on his podcast, saying: "Donate all your money to the cause – that's it, stop yapping about it" "Let's just say, for instance, the world is in a bit of a f**ked up place … what's all the kids in a field at Glastonbury going to do about it? Everybody knows what's going on in the f**king world, you've got a phone in your pocket that tells you anyway," he expressed. "What is the point of virtue-signalling?' The performer led crowds at the West Holts Stage in chants of "death, death to the IDF," meanwhile Irish rap group Kneecap performance is reportedly being assessed by police following an X-rated blast aimed at Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, and leading chants of "F**k Starmer." As the festival released a statement, earlier today which stated: "With almost 4,000 performances at Glastonbury 2025, there will inevitably be artists and speakers appearing on our stages whose views we do not share, and a performer's presence here should never be seen as a tacit endorsement of their opinions and beliefs." "However, we are appalled by the statements made from the West Holts stage by Bob Vylan yesterday. Their chants very much crossed a line and we are urgently reminding everyone involved in the production of the Festival that there is no place at Glastonbury for antisemitism, hate speech or incitement to violence."

Kate Nash says she would love to collaborate with Kneecap
It came after police said on Saturday that they are assessing videos of comments made by the Belfast rap trio, as well as punk duo Bob Vylan, during their performances at the Glastonbury Festival. The group are known for their provocative lyrics and merchandise, as well as their championing of the Irish language and support for Palestine. 'I love Kneecap. I'd love to collaborate. I love collaboration, actually,' Nash told the PA news agency. 'I really, really think collaboration is such an amazing and important part of being an artist, because you just learn every time you collaborate with someone different. 'So I just did a duet with Sprints, because they covered Foundations, and that was really fun.' Nash, 37, added: 'Kneecap would be amazing to collaborate with. My mum's from Dublin and I think that the way they use their political platform is really important.' She continued: 'I don't think English people really understand their (Ireland's) history at all, they just don't know it. 'So I think there's an opportunity to educate people about England and Ireland's history, and sort of being half-English, half-Irish myself I have quite a good understanding of that, but I didn't learn it at school. 'There's so many amazing musicians to collaborate with. I love Amyl And The Sniffers.' Before their performance on the West Holts Stage, several politicians called for Kneecap to be removed from the line-up and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said their performance would not be 'appropriate'. During their set, member Naoise O Caireallain said: 'The Prime Minister of your country, not mine, said he didn't want us to play, so f*** Keir Starmer.' In reference to his bandmate's upcoming court date the rapper, who performs under the name Moglai Bap, said they would 'start a riot outside the courts', before clarifying: 'No riots, just love and support, and support for Palestine.' Bobby Vylan, of rap duo Bob Vylan, had earlier led crowds in chants of 'Free, free Palestine' and 'Death, death to the IDF (Israel Defence Forces)'. According to reports, Bobby Vylan is called Pascal Robinson-Foster, 34, from Ipswich. Robinson-Foster is listed on Companies House as being the director of Ghost Theatre Records, which is operated by Bob Vylan. Sir Keir said the latter chant was 'appalling hate speech' and urged the BBC to explain how the scenes were broadcast. Speaking on the politics of Glastonbury, Nash said: 'What's the history of Glastonbury? It's about anti-corporation, Greenpeace. 'It is ultimately a political festival, and people come here to find togetherness, community, a sense of hope and to watch people play amazing shows, and to have their lives changed, to be inspired. 'I think that we're seeing a lot of really scary things in the world right now, and people want to feel like they can see what they feel on stage being voiced, and I think that politicians need to get a grip.' Asked about artists who say they do not want to be political, she said: 'Certain people, you can't escape the politics of existing in the world. 'If you are a woman and you're like, 'I'm not political', I'm like, 'You are, you are. Everything about your life is political, whether you want it to be or not'. 'I think if you're a very privileged, white, rich man, sure you don't want to be political, or you don't have to be. 'But also, do you even have to comment that you don't want to be? I'm not really sure it helps. 'I think just don't be, then, in a way, if you just want to be a pop band, just be a pop band. 'That's not how I was raised. So it's really difficult for me to understand somebody saying, 'I don't want to be political'.' It came after The 1975 frontman Matty Healy said the band did not want their legacy to be 'one of politics' during their Friday night headline slot. 'I think we don't need more politics, we need more love and friendship,' he said. Nash headlined Glastonbury's Left Field stage on Saturday evening and performed a secret set on the BBC Introducing stage on Sunday. She has released several studio albums and is known for songs including Mouthwash and Foundations, the latter of which peaked at number two in the UK singles chart.
