LEGO launches four new Fortnite sets for children and older builders
The new sets will allow builders to recreate even more of their favourite characters and moments from LEGO Fortnite Odyssey and Fortnite. This announcement follows on from the first-ever release of LEGO Fortnite physical sets last year.
The first product in this latest launch is the LEGO Fortnite Peely & Sparkplug's Camp. This 250-piece set is inspired by some of the first challenges you meet in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, with builders aged 7+ able to recreate the campfire, ruins and workbench settings, with Peely, Sparkplug minifigures, as well as Supply Llama, wolf and skeleton figures also included.
Gaming fans will be able to unlock the Sparkplug Outfit in the LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite games by scanning the QR code on the cover of the building instructions.
The LEGO Fortnite Durrr Burger Restaurant is a 546-piece set which allows builders to construct one of LEGO Fortnite's gameplay locations.
Builders aged 10+ will be able to recreate all the action with four minifigure characters included in the set, such as Beach Bomber, Beef Boss and Grimey. There's also an extra for fans, with the set unlocking the Beef Boss Outfit in the LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite games.
The third set announced, LEGO Fortnite Klombo will allow builders 10+ to befriend one of LEGO Fortnite's characters. Fitted with movable legs, an opening mouth and rotating tail, as well as including a small Klomberry bush with detachable Klomberries, this is an 1,084-piece model.
The set also features minifigures of Island Adventure Peely and Oro and includes a digital bonus allowing builders to redeem the Island Adventure Peely Outfit in the LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite games.
Completing the new releases is a set for older builders, the LEGO Fortnite Mecha Team Leader. The 2,503-piece model offers fans an immersive project based on the character that saved the Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 1 Island.
The set also includes two digital bonus items, allowing players to redeem: the Mecha Team Leader and Mecha Team Shadow Outfits redeemable in the LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite games.

Epic Games urges Fortnite mobile players to make space for huge 25GB file size
Fortnite mobile players are getting an error message that's down to the game's massive file size and the fix is to start deleting everything else. We're all used to file sizes for games getting a bit out of hand these days on PC and consoles, but now mobile players are having to wrestle with conundrum of what to keep and what to delete, thanks to Fortnite. Fortnite mobile is back after a five-year banishment from the App Store and Google Play Store. The breakup between Apple, Google, and Epic Games stemmed from a dispute over a lack of direct in-app payment methods and the cut the tech giants took from sales. But after a lengthy lawsuit (during which people were flogging their phones on eBay that still had Fortnite installed on them), Fortnite is back on iOS and Android. For players in Europe, Fortnite mobile has been back on the platforms since August last year, while the game only just returned to iOS in May 2025 for US users – which lined up nicely with the start of the mini Star Wars season (well, after Epic delayed the start to accommodate the App Store return). A lot has changed since the last time Fortnite was on mobile, with what feels like countless collabs, loads of live events, skins galore, and of course, more modes than you can shake a stick at. Fortnite mobile offers the core modes like Battle Royale and Zero Build as well as the newly introduced Blitz Royale, which is pretty much designed for on-the-go gaming with its five-minute matches. There's also Lego Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing, and that's a lot more content compared to what we had on Fortnite mobile five years ago. Ultimately that means a big beast of a file size since it was last on iOS and Android, with Fortnite mobile weighing in at a massive 25GB – and apparently it's taken some gamers by surprise, with Epic Games addressing an error message that is basically telling players they'd better start clearing out space. Space under fire Fortnite mobile players have been told that if they're presented with the error message "Failed to write necessary files. Please try again later," that the culprit could be the immense file size sucking up space on their phones. The @FortniteStatus Twitter account advises that, should you get this error message, to "clear more space on your device so the files can be downloaded," adding that Fortnite mobile "may need up to 25 GB of free space to fully download." To put that into perspective, 2011's Skyrim comes in at 4GB for the base game, and around 22GB for the Special Edition, which includes improvements to graphics and effects as well as a ton of bonus content. That's pretty small when it comes to modern games, which can clock in at anywhere from 50GB to 200GB plus (I'm looking at you, Call of Duty). However, there are only a handful of iOS and Android titles that rival Fortnite mobile, with CoD mobile coming close once you've downloaded all the extras, and Genshin Impact mobile making you realise things could be worse, needing 30GB of free space. So yes, it might be a surprise for players coming back to Fortnite mobile after its hiatus to discover just how hefty it is now, but the game has grown and evolved over the past half-decade, and it's got to go somewhere. If you really can't bear to start clearing out space or deleting other games, you can always solve the problem by throwing money at it: the Nintendo Switch 2 just launched after all. It's perfect for on-the-go gaming, and you can easily expand its storage, especially with Prime Day deals this week. Not the best solutions, but at least you have an excuse to treat yourself to a new console now! You're welcome.

First look at the world's largest Legoland resort built with 85 million bricks
A colossal Lego figure, named Dada, greeted visitors to the newly opened Legoland resort in Shanghai. Dada, who stands at over 26 metres (85 feet) tall, is a fittingly huge welcome to the resort - which is the biggest Legoland in the world. Opening its doors on Saturday, the Shanghai resort marks China 's inaugural Legoland. It is constructed from an astonishing 85 million Lego bricks. Its development was a collaborative effort between Merlin Entertainments, the LEGO Group, and the Shanghai government. Among the main attractions in the resort is Miniland, which replicates well-known sights from across the world using Lego bricks. It features sights from across China like Beijing's Temple of Heaven and Shanghai's the Bund waterfront. There's also a boat tour through a historical Chinese water town built with Lego bricks. On opening weekend, visitors were greeted by performances featuring Legoland characters. Tickets range from $44 (319 yuan) to $84 (599 yuan). Earlier this year in the UK, Fiona Eastwood was appointed the new boss of Merlin Entertainments, the company behind Legoland. She took on the job ahead of a number of key launches, including the Shanghai resort and a standalone Peppa Pig theme park in the US. Ms Eastwood said it was 'an honour' to take on the job. 'My task, as chief executive, is to lead Merlin to new heights, with a focus on performance, creativity, operational excellence and guest experience,' she said. Last year, a number of British Olympians and Paralympians were reimagined in brick form at Legoland to wish them good luck ahead of Paris 2024. Three model makers used 2,024 Lego bricks over 60 hours to create the exhibit, entitled Going for Gold. The creation included wheelchair racer Hannah Cockroft with the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower, heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson holding a javelin outside the Louvre and Tom Daley knitting on a diving board.
