LEGO Fortnite Expeditions set to launch with hero classes and new adventures

Image via Epic Games Epic Games has officially teased the upcoming mode, which introduces a new layer of gameplay through 'Hero Classes.' The first of these, Shadow Caller, has already been unveiled, and early speculation suggests the class will feature enhanced mobility and mystical abilities. Interestingly, the character resembles Morgan Myst, hinting at the crossover potential Epic is known for. 'Shadow Caller is the first of three Hero Classes coming with Expeditions. Switch between them for a different gameplay experience and level them up as you play,' Epic said in an official post. While details remain limited, the new mode is expected to offer progression-based gameplay where each Hero Class will provide a distinct play style. Whether that translates to specific roles, similar to RPG-style party dynamics - or simply alternate mechanics remains unclear. However, fans are already drawing comparisons to Fortnite's Hero Items from Chapter 6 Season 3 and speculating that the experience may adopt elements from RPGs or even roguelites. LEGO Fortnite 's expanding universe LEGO Fortnite has seen rapid evolution since its initial debut in December 2023. Starting as a survival crafting experience, the game mode quickly became a fan favourite. The addition of LEGO Fortnite Brick Life brought life-sim elements to the table, including the recent inclusion of AI NPCs like Noir and Slurp Leviathan, who interact dynamically based on player actions. With Expeditions on the horizon, Epic continues to double down on LEGO Fortnite's appeal, especially among younger audiences and creative builders. On June 17, just a day before Expeditions launches, the LEGO Brick Editor will also be integrated into the Unreal Editor in Fortnite. This will give players access to 50 LEGO Bricks in 42 colours, allowing even more customisation within the metaverse. More details about the remaining two Hero Classes are expected soon, with speculation hinting at melee and ranged specialists. Some fans believe these may draw inspiration from existing Fortnite characters, while others hope for original LEGO-style heroes. Epic's history of unexpected crossovers leaves the door wide open. Players are also curious about how these Hero Classes will evolve during gameplay. Could we see RPG-style progression, skill upgrades, or team-based mechanics? While nothing has been confirmed, the potential for deeper engagement is promising. With Expeditions launching on June 18, Epic Games appears ready to expand LEGO Fortnite into something much larger. As class-based combat, storytelling, and creative tools come together, players can expect a richer, more layered experience moving forward. LEGO Fortnite Expeditions will be free to play across all major platforms including Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC. How to get the free Iridia Vayne skin in Fortnite

Fortnite players now have the opportunity to unlock the stylish Iridia Vayne skin, completely free of cost. But there's a small catch: it's only available for a limited time. As part of the ongoing Party Up: Celestial Strike event, the skin officially became unlockable on May 30, and players have until June 7 at 9 AM ET to claim it. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Epic Games has long been known for giving away free cosmetics through events, quests, and Twitch drops, and this season has seen a flurry of such offerings, especially during the Galactic Battle crossover. However, unlocking Iridia Vayne requires some serious in-game commitment. How to unlock the skin To obtain the Iridia Vayne skin, players need to complete nine Celestial Strike quests. Each quest requires earning 60,000 XP, but there's a twist: all XP must be earned while playing with a friend. The event features two sets of quests: By Epic Experiences: These include official modes like Battle Royale, Zero Build, LEGO Fortnite, Festival, and Rocket Racing. Creator Made Experiences: These are player-generated maps not developed by Epic. Each phase progresses only after the required XP is earned in each category. The fastest method? Team up, enter an Epic mode to complete Daily or Story Quests, or hop into XP-friendly Creative maps. Fortnite Party Up - Celestial Strike: Unlock the Iridia Vayne Outfit! Here's what you can unlock While the Iridia Vayne skin is the final prize, players will unlock several other cosmetics along the way. Here's the full list of rewards: Allen Boy Jam Track Victory Plume Spray Opaline Slashers Pickaxe Confident Iridia Spray Peacock's Dream Wrap Opaline Scabbard Back Bling High Five! Emoticon Origami Battalion Emote Iridia Vayne Skin A total of 540,000 XP is needed to claim all rewards. Fortnite players have until June 7 at 9 AM ET to unlock the Iridia Vayne skin for free. To claim it, players must complete nine Celestial Strike quests, each requiring 60,000 XP earned while playing with a friend. That's a significant grind, especially with limited time left. Playing Epic-made modes like Battle Royale or LEGO Fortnite and targeting daily quests can help speed things up. Creative XP maps are another fast-track option, especially those recommended on community platforms. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now While there's speculation that Iridia Vayne may appear in the Item Shop later, nothing's confirmed. For now, the only guaranteed way to add her to your locker without spending V-Bucks is through this limited-time event. With a striking design and positive community buzz, this is one freebie worth chasing - but don't wait too long. The countdown has begun.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds Spin-Off Game Surprise Drops In Early Access

RuneScape: Dragonwilds Today, Jagex surprised everyone by surprise releasing RuneScape: Dragonwilds after initially announcing the game only two weeks ago. Dragondwilds is an open world survival crafting spin-off game set in the RuneScape universe, but it's not an MMO. Instead, you can play solo or online cooperatively with up to three other friends. This hybrid approach to solo or co-op in an open world survival environment is similar to other such games like Valheim, LEGO Fortnite, Enshrouded, and several other survival games. In RuneScape: Dragonwilds, players are whisked away to a 'forgotten continent' known as Ashenfall. You find yourself stranded and in need of resources as you set off to build shelter and craft equipment. As it turns out, dragons have awoken in this strange new land so you've got to complete quests, improve your gear and skills, and take on the rising threat. The setup is pretty standard stuff, but the bright, colorful art style and signature RuneScape whimsy is the real appeal. As a spin-off of the main MMORPG, there will undoubtedly be familiar elements for longtime fans, but it's aiming to also serve as a great new entry in the open world survival crafting genre. I haven't tried RuneScape: Dragonwilds for myself just yet, but I'm eager to hop in there and see what it's like. The high fantasy setting is extremely appealing to me for this type of game since most others lean on a darker fantasy setting. I like color and distinct personality in my magical worlds. The page estimates it may be ready for full 1.0 release in early 2026, but also states it will remain in Early Access 'as long as it takes' so don't consider that a hard and fast promise. Player involvement and feedback should be key parts of the development process, just as they are for the studio's other games. RuneScape: Dragonwilds is out now in Steam Early Access and available for purchase.
