PSG preparing to step up negotiations for sought-after Premier League star
The 22-year-old Ukrainian had become a key figure at Bournemouth last season, starting 35 league games and playing a major role in helping Andoni Iraola's side finish 9th on the table.
According to multiple reports, PSG submitted a formal €60m [$70m] offer earlier this summer, which was promptly rejected by the Premier League side as they continued holding firm on their €70m [$81m] valuation of the defender who arrived from Dynamo Kyiv in 2023.
Although no new offer has gone in since then, Les Parisiens have already reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Zabarnyi who has expressed his desire to join the Ligue 1 champions in time for the new season.
With Lucas Beraldo unsettled due to his lack of minutes and possibly looking for a move away, PSG believe Zabarnyi fits both short-term needs and long-term squad balance especially after their treble-winning campaign added new pressure to sustain success in Europe.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has now stepped into the negotiations personally, according to RMC Sports.

The move clearly shows how the 2024/2025 Champions League winners are intending to resolve the gap and push over the finish line without delay.
Tottenham also eye PSG target
While Paris are preparing to resume discussions, Tottenham Hotspur have made move of their own with Caught Offside reporting that Thomas Frank's side have spoken to Bournemouth and are ready to meet the full €70m valuation.
However, the London club will have difficulty convincing Zabarnyi, who prefers PSG's sporting project.
PSG are also set to receive funds from Hugo Ekitike's €95m [$111m] potential move to Liverpool via a sell-on clause which could allow them to match Bournemouth's demands without delay.

NBC could resurrect a sports cable channel in sports media twist
Executives at NBCUniversal are eying a new sports cable network, roughly four years after they shuttered the previous one the company operated. The unnamed cable channel would carry sports that will also stream on the company's service, Peacock, with the network potentially going live as early as the fall, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday. No decision has been made, and talks are in the early stage, according to the report, but the network would be available on cable and satellite services as part of specialty packages. NBC could bring back a sports cable network. Getty Images The channel would complement the Peacock streaming platform and would give the company a safety net of sorts if its subscriber base doesn't grow as quickly as the network anticipates. The news comes months before NBC officially joins as a broadcast partner for the NBA, which cost NBCU roughly $2.5 billion annually for the rights to carry the league package. NBA games this season will air on both linear NBC and on Peacock. The Wall Street Journal report also indicated that the potential sports network would be made available through specific cable packages, rather than the broader plan that includes other sports networks such as ESPN and Fox Sports 1. Previously, NBC operated NBC Sports Network — also known as NBCSN — before it shut down in 2021 due to low ratings and its inability to compete with ESPN. NBCSN used to cover the NHL before the channel was shuttered in 2021. NHLI via Getty Images NBCU has aired 'Sunday Night Football' simulcasts on Peacock, along with an exclusive NFL game that is carried only on the streaming service. Other sports offerings on the streamer include golf, college football, the Olympics and Premier League soccer before the NBA enters the fray in the fall. Peacock's subscription cost went up by $3 to $10.99 a month for its ad-supported tier and to $16.99 for its tier with no commercials.

Chelsea Are Locked In A Three-Way Battle For This Manchester United Attacker: Is He Worth The Fight?
In a recent report, The Telegraph claimed that Chelsea are locked in a three-way battle for Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho. It has been mentioned that the Blues would have to rival Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in the race to land the Argentine playmaker this summer. Garnacho's Impressive Form In English Football Last Season Garnacho had a decent campaign with the Mancunian club recently as he managed to shine at times for them in the Premier League. The Argentine talent participated in 58 matches for Man United last season, scoring 11 times and earning ten assists in multiple competitions. The 21-year-old was an impressive performer in the opposition half based on his average of 3.44 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he kept 34.5% of his attempts on target. Garnacho distributed the ball relatively well after completing 78.9% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via His current contract at the Mancunian club will run out in the summer of 2028 which could make it tough for the Blues to land him on the cheap this off-season. (Photo by) Chelsea Are Locked In A Three-Way Battle For Garnacho: Is He Worth The Fight? Garnacho is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net. However, the Argentine talent has to find a way to be more lethal in front of the opposition goal. Garnacho is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also function as a winger if needed. Garnacho would add more firepower to Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca's frontline. He has what it takes to compete for a regular first-team spot at the West London club next season. At 21, Garnacho has got a promising future ahead of him and could prove to be a great signing for the Blues in the long run. With all things considered, the Argentina international would be well worth the fight, so Maresca would be wise to step up his efforts to sign him this summer.
