PSG preparing to step up negotiations for sought-after Premier League star
When PSG first targeted Illia Zabarnyi, they knew they were pursuing one of the Premier League's most intelligent and disciplined young defenders and they hoped to complete the transfer before their Club World Cup campaign even began. Although no new offer has gone in since then, Les Parisiens have already reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Zabarnyi who has expressed his desire to join the Ligue 1 champions in time for the new season. Liverpool are unsure whether to proceed with a deal for him. Meanwhile, another move which Liverpool were previously interested might still be an option to explore and he would offer an interesting dynamic to Arne Slot's side if he joined the Reds' squad. Zabarnyi to PSG is not a done-deal yet Liverpool have been heavily interested in Bournemouth defenders this summer and once it was known that Dean Huijsen would be heading to Real Madrid, Illya Zabarnyi joined the shortlist. It has been assumed for weeks that Zabarnyi was destined to move to France, but a report from TBR Football suggests that the Reds might still have a chance to swoop in and hijack the transfer. The report claims: "Zabarnyi has confirmed his desire to move to the French capital and personal terms have been agreed. Indeed, he has shunned prospective interest from England with Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle all showing an interest - but he is committed to PSG. "[However] Bournemouth are refusing to drop their asking price to £60m for the Ukraine international, while PSG's highest offer thus far is £55million." As such, that £5m gap in each teams valuations leaves the door ajar for Liverpool to capitalise on. The 22-year-old is Premier League proven and the Reds have shown beyond all reasonable doubt that they are willing to spend the money required to get their targets. They are serious this summer. So don't give up hope on this one quite yet because everything can change if PSG are unable to increase their financial offering to sign the centre-back. Liverpool desperately need a new defender.

Tottenham prepare £60m bid to sign Bournemouth star ahead of PSG
Tottenham are ready to launch a £60 million bid to sign Bournemouth centre-back Illia Zabarnyi, according to reports. Zabarnyi has spent just over two years at Bournemouth having joined in a £24 million deal from from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2023. According to Sky Sport Italy, Spurs are in the market to sign Zabarnyi and are willing to meet Bournemouth's £60m asking price. However, Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the Ukraine international and have already seen their £52m offer rejected by Bournemouth. It's claimed that Zabarnyi is aware of PSG's approach and the 22-year-old would favour a move to the Champions League holders over Spurs. Speaking in February, Bournemouth manager, Andoni Iraola, highlighted how important Zabarnyi has been to his side. 'Zaba for me is even easier to explain, I think,' Iraola told the Daily Echo. 'I'm not sure if we decided to change him one minute in the time I've been here. 'So that basically says everything about the confidence we have in him and how reliable and how robust also he is and he's the kind of player that is very easy to coach. 'For a coach, he pays attention, he comes every day to train with a great attitude and I am enjoying also his development because now when I arrived he was a great player but quite shy.
