Protester pulls gun as ICE raid turns violent in California; search warrant issued, $50,000 reward offered
At one point, authorities reportedly used smoke canisters in several directions, which caused chaos and sent people running. The raid had already stretched into its fourth hour by then.
The area was locked down. National Guard troops and local police blocked nearby roads as tensions kept rising. Neither side was backing off.
Things escalated further when one anti-ICE protester reportedly pulled a gun on ICE agents. A video of the moment was shared on X, with a caption reading, "Will @GavinNewsom condemn this?? ICE agents are facing a 700% increase in assaults! This is insane! More people need to start getting arrested for impeding ICE!"
Search warrant issued
Homeland Security Investigations Los Angeles issued a search warrant for the man.
'On 7/10/25 during a search warrant by federal law enforcement, an unknown subject appeared to fire a pistol at Federal Law Enforcement Officers. Shooting occurred at approx 2:26pm on Laguna Rd between Wood Rd and Las Posas Rd. Reward: $50,000/ Call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324),' HSI wrote on X.
Assaults against ICE gone up by 700%
ICE says that assaults on its agents have gone up by 700% compared to last year.
Deportation raids have been less frequent and lower profile over the past year, as immigration enforcement hasn't been as aggressively prioritized under the Biden administration.

Assaulting federal employees…
In a post on Thursday, ICE said, 'This behavior is NOT protesting. It's assaulting federal employees while they're on duty. It's impeding federal officers. It's ILLEGAL. It's DANGEROUS. And it will NOT stop us from enforcing immigration law.'
Many protesters argue that ICE should operate more transparently. They've called for agents to wear proper uniforms and stop using unmarked vehicles during raids, according to New York Post.
California passed legislation for immigration officers
After earlier protests in Los Angeles, California passed legislation that would prevent immigration officers from covering their faces to hide their identities. Similar bills have started showing up in other Democrat-led states.
Senators Cory Booker from New Jersey and Alex Padilla from California recently introduced a bill in the Senate called the VISIBLE Act short for Visible Identification Standards for Immigration-Based Law Enforcement which would create a nationwide rule for clearer identification of immigration officers.

Delhi saw 13 car theft cases daily in first half of 2025
The national capital recorded an average of 13 cases of car thefts per day in the first half of 2025, officials said on Saturday. Between January 1 and July 15 this year, a total of 2,468 cases of car theft were registered across the national capital.(Sunil Ghosh/HT) However, Delhi also witnessed a decline in car theft cases in the first half of 2025 as compared to the same period last year. According to official police data, between January 1 and July 15 this year, a total of 2,468 cases of car theft were registered across the national capital. During the corresponding period in 2024, the figure stood at 2,732, indicating a drop of nearly 10 per cent. Senior police officials attributed this decline to enhanced night patrolling, increased deployment of plainclothes teams in auto theft hotspots, and proactive intelligence gathering by Anti-Auto Theft Squads (AATS) in various districts. The intensified crackdown on organised vehicle lifting syndicates and surveillance measures, including the use of CCTV and analytics-based policing, have also played a role, officials said. Multiple cases involving interstate gangs involved in stealing luxury vehicles and transporting them to other states using fake number plates and master keys have been busted this year.

The Left Democratic Front (LDF) will come to power for the third time in the State,' he said. 'Mr. Satheesan is trying to ensure his position and is all set to become the next Chief Minister. However, he is does not know how to mange issues in a better manner,' said Mr. Natesan. . On Malappuram 'Some groups are trying to portray me as anti-Muslim when I speak the truth. Ezhava community in Malappuram is facing discrimination, even in the education sector. Most of the institutions there belong to the Muslim community. The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) is a communal political party. Are there any other community members on the personal staff of the IUML representatives? If it is a secular party, will they field a Brahmin community member on their seats in the next election?' asked Mr. Natesan. 'There is no problem when Christian or Nair community members raise caste-related issues. However, when the Ezhava community speaks about such issues, a big controversy is created,' he said. Mr. Natesan further alleged that the Congress party sidelined former Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president K. Sudhakaran because he belongs to the SNDP community. Many members of the Ezhava community take up the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme works. They lack employment opportunities and are forced to take up such jobs, he said. This situation should be rectified, Mr. Natesan added. In response, Mr. Satheesan said that Mr. Natesan was saying things that the Guru would not approve of. If 14,000 men have benefitted from Ladki Bahin Yojana, we will recover money from them: Ajit Pawar
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Saturday said the government will recover money from those men who have taken advantage of the state's flagship Ladki Bahin Yojana which was said to be largely instrumental in bringing the BJP-led Mahayuti back to power in Maharashtra. Over 14,000 men have been reportedly benefitted from the scheme. 'The Ladki Bahin Yojana was implemented as financial assistance for poor women. It was brought with honest intention. It was not meant for men. And therefore, we are going to recover the money from them. If they do not co-operate, we will take action against them,' Pawar told reporters when asked about the media reports that 14,298 men have benefitted from the scheme. The scheme was started in August 2024 before the Assembly elections. The beneficiaries got Rs 1,500 per month in their bank accounts. As many as 14,298 men have apparently received benefits of over Rs 21 crore. Sports Minister Dattatraya Bharne, who in the past had admitted how the scheme had put additional financial burden on the state government, said, 'If men have got benefits from the scheme, the government will take appropriate action in the matter.' Another NCP Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said, 'If this has happened, then government will investigate.' Shashikant Shinde, NCP (S-P) state president, said, 'We have been consistently saying that those who were not eligible were getting benefits of the Ladki Bahin Yojana. In the House too, we had been asking the government to recover the amount which was wrongly distributed. The scheme was wrongly implemented.' Baramati MP Supriya Sule said it has come to light that some men have taken advantage of the Ladki Bahin Yojana. 'The government hurriedly got lakhs of forms filled up by women before the Assembly elections,' she said, while demanding ED and CBI investigation against contractors who were tasked with getting forms filled up from women about the Ladki Bahin Yojana.
