Railway Protection Force
(RPF), Nagpur Division, rescued a man who had climbed onto the engine of
Train No. 12622
. The incident occurred on 30 April when a video alert reached the Divisional Security Commissioner, prompting immediate response. RPF personnel, in coordination with Overhead Equipment (OHE) staff, halted the train at Bharatwada at 12.43pm. The man was safely brought down and temporarily accommodated in the Divyangjan coach with assistance from alert passengers.
The train resumed its journey at 12.53pm. Onboard inquiry revealed he had boarded the train from Ahmedabad enroute to Orai. A PAN card and mobile number helped identify him and trace his family, who confirmed he had been missing and was under
mental health treatment
.
His family arrived at the RPF Post, Nagpur on 1 May at 8.45am with a valid ID. After due verification and execution of a formal surrender panchnama in the presence of witnesses, the man was reunited with his loved ones. The family expressed deep gratitude for the RPF's timely and compassionate action.

Six held in Puri for stealing from devotees
BHUBANESWAR: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Sunday launched 'Operation Yatri Surakshya' and arrested six members of a gang for their alleged involvement in stealing the mobile phones and other belongings of pilgrims visiting Puri for Rath Yatra. Railway sources said, the group was conspiring to commit dacoity in night-running trains operating between Puri and Khurda road section when it was intercepted at the coaching complex in Puri. The RPF team recovered 23 stolen mobile handsets, cash amounting to Rs 24,450, and other incriminating articles, with the total value of recovered property estimated at Rs 7.13 lakh. During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to multiple incidents of mobile phone theft from passengers at railway stations and passenger areas. They were also actively planning a dacoity in passenger trains. The arrested persons along with the recovered stolen property were handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP), Puri. A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Train runs over 7 buffaloes in Burdwan
1 2 Rupnarayanpur (Burdwan): Seven buffaloes were mowed down by the UP 12317 Akal Takht Superfast Express, which operates between Kolkata and Amritsar, between Rupnarayanpur and Chittaranjan stations around 11am on on Sunday. The train was detained till 11.30am. According to local residents, some of the buffaloes were pregnant, and the impact expelled the unborn calves from their bodies. Railway officials said the loco pilot immediately reported the incident. Personnel from the public works department, RPF and railway authorities rushed to the site.
