Second Shot at Love – K-drama Episode 11 Recap & Review
Episode 11 of Second Shot at Love begins with Geum-ju comforting Ui-joon. He tells her about his past. In 1996, his mother dies and unable to take it, his father abandons him. His grandmother and Geum-ju are the only two people in his life. When he grows up, his father returns as an alcoholic, demanding money.
After Ui-joon becomes a doctor, he gets Mr Seo admitted against his wishes. Mr Seo lies about his recovery and once he is out, he attacks Ui-joon on his birthday and accidentally kills Nurse Jeong. Because of his clinically proven alcoholism, he gets a light sentence. Ui-joon blames himself for the lenient punishment and Jeong's death. It is also why he has been sober.
Gwang-ok is discharged from the hospital and everyone welcomes her. Once Nurse Baek has Gwang-ok settled, she leaves, citing the umpteenth club she has joined to look after Ui-joon. The Hans gush over how lucky Ui-joon is to have her. Geum-ju does find their close bond odd but Ui-joon jokes that he is likeable.
It cuts to Mr Seo, causing a scene whenever he is conscious. Nurse Baek wonders if her visit triggered him. We also learn that the cops helped Ui-joon contact Caretaker Oh. He tells Nurse Baek about the meeting and she wishes he would move on and live a happy life. He learns that Oh and Baek are classmates but Baek claims not to know her.
Onto the second lead couple's drama. Hyeon-ju takes her twins out of the taekwondo class. Seon-wook begs Seon-hwa to help change her mind but his sister vaguely refuses. Once he leaves, she declares that she is done with Hyeon-ju for good.
Next, Ms Nosy continues to sulk and avoid Gwang-ok. However, Gwang-ok shows up, having missed her. Ms Nosy feels guilty for being rude to her and the illness gave her a reality check. A flashback shows Ms Nosy's husband being thoughtless. He gets drunk with friends on their honeymoon. And also lets it slip that Gwang-ok is his first love. At present, Ms Nosy reveals that she was insecure and took it out on her. Gwang-ok comforts her as she apologises.
Back to our lead couple, Geum-ju is tasked with supervising a car crash case. Coincidentally, the van belongs to the nursing home and Ui-joon tells her about her father allegedly being seen there. The mood lightens up when she finds his gift from all those years ago. He wants to gift her something better but she wears the necklace.
She arrives home and feels guilty for being happy while Hyeon-ju is sad. Hyeon-ju reveals that she wants to fix things with Seon-hwa. The sisters cheer each other up but Hyeon-ju ghosts Seon-wook as he tries to call her.
Upset, Seon-wook wants to get drunk again. Trying to deter him, Young-woong lets it slip that drunk him ruined Seon-hwa and Hyeon-ju's friendship. Outside, Instructor Kim spots Seon-hwa bringing hangover medicines for Seon-wook. She is wearing an old jacket and Kim berates her for not taking care of herself. Seon-wook overhears and feels bad.
Geum-ju visits the nursing home to resolve the car crash and leaves before Ui-joon can pick her up. But he ends up running into Caretaker Oh and is shocked since she had told him she had retired. She claims it is temporary and a call cuts short their meeting.
As for Geum-ju, she spots Nurse Baek at the bus terminal. She tries to surprise her but Baek claims she is in Seoul. Geum-ju is confused as Baek's bus heads to Myeongju, the nursing home's location.
Meanwhile, Ms Nosy treats the town to celebrate Gwang-ok's recovery. Her husband, Ki-beom, is rude and she is grateful as Gwang-ok puts him in his place. Seon-hwa is missing and her mother-in-law jokes how it is strange since she is practically family to the Hans. Seon-wook and Hyeon-ju feel guilty. As they are wrapping up, Seon-wook apologises and promises to back off. However, he hopes Hyeon-ju can understand Seon-hwa and forgive her as she has no one else.
The Nurse Baek mystery continues as Ui-joon had seen Baek call Caretaker Oh. But he gives her the benefit of the doubt.
Geum-ju Googles all the clubs that Baek is a part of but they have all shut down. She heads to the hospital for medicines and overhears the nurses gossip how Baek should hate Ui-joon. She runs into his mentor who reveals that Baek was only close to Nurse Jeong and Ui-joon. Baek felt guilty as she swapped shifts with Jeong the day she died. At the same time, the cops update Ui-joon that the nursing home belongs to Nurse Baek and Caretaker Oh is its director.
Oh is tucking in Mr Seo when he wakes up and looks at a syringe. Ui-joon shows up at the nursing home and confronts Baek. Mr Seo pops up with a broken glass bottle. He claims that he wants to kill Ui-joon as revenge against Nurse Baek. Seo attacks but she steps in front of Ui-joon and is stabbed. Mr Seo runs off as Geum-ju calls the cops. A flashback shows Baek's conversation that triggers Seo. She reveals that Ui-joon is her son.
The Second Shot at Love Episode 11 epilogue is of the class graduation. The Hans pick bouquets for Geum-ju and Ui-joon but a lady in red pays for them. It is Nurse Baek who watches Ui-joon and then leaves.
The Episode Review
Second Shot at Love Episode 11 tries to wrap up most of the storylines and give all the supporting characters closure. Geum-ju and Ui-joon are in a good place. Gwang-ok recovers, is treated well by her family and the mini conflict with Ms Kim aka Ms Nosy is quickly resolved. Hyeon-ju and Seon-wook understand where Seon-hwa comes from. And hopefully, she'll most likely come to terms and give Hyeon-ju and Seon-wook her blessing in the finale.
In fact, this whole episode feels like a finale and could have been the perfect point to wrap up. The added mystery with Mr Seo and Nurse Baek feels unnecessary, especially since it never contributed to the main plot. The set-up has just been a few seconds over the past 10 episodes and no one would miss it if this subplot cut out. But now, the show will need to spin some convoluted plot twist to explain Nurse Baek's disappearance and why she keeps her identity a secret from her son.

Bianca Censori debuts a new covered-up look as she and husband Kanye West fly into Seoul
She frequently leaves little to the imagination with her wardrobe but Kanye West's wife Bianca Censori surprisingly jetted into Seoul in a completely covered-up outfit. In a departure from her usual flesh-flashing attire, on Friday Bianca showed hardly any skin as she touched down into the South Korean capital alongside her husband Kanye West Bianca was in a black sweater with matching leggings and feathery leg warmers, and she added a taupe messenger cap and sunglasses. Kanye dressed similarly in all-black, and opted for a zip-down sweatshirt, leather pants, and chunky boots. The couple's outing was after Bianca recently appeared in skin-out photos, which were photographed by her rapper husband and shared on Instagram. The images showed her as she posed in white lace lingerie in a hotel room in Japan, in shots taken in October.

Strictly star reveals she's been grafting hard at new career for six years – ahead of surprise Hollywood film debut
SHE'S conquered in the ring and shown flair on the dancefloor - now Nicola Adams has her sights set on lighting up Hollywood. The two-time Olympic champion, 42, will make her big screen debut in dark drama The Gun on Second Street next year. 6 6 She's acting alongside Bruce Willis 's daughter Rumer, Poppy Delevingne and leading man Jack Kesy in a movie that shines a light on the gun crisis in the US. Mum-of-one Nicola has been quietly studying at acting school for the past six years as she pursues a long-held dream. In an exclusive interview with The Sun, she says: "I just want to work with people that are just as hungry as I am. "I'm not one of those people that just show up and just expect everything to be fine. "I put in the work, I put in the graft, just as I do as an athlete as well. I want to take it as far as I can in terms of how I grow as an actor, being able to experience different types of roles, playing different characters that really flex my abilities and my ability to be able to dig deep on the emotions that are needed for the more dark characters." When it comes to expressing those heavy moments in front of camera, she says: "It's just about feeling those emotions yourself. I don't work off of thinking about other things that make me sad to get there. "It's about being in the moment and actually being that character." As for the film itself, which goes into production this autumn, Nicola is remaining tight-lipped, though says she's received some guidance from "a few well-known people". Before it hits screens, Nicola will also star in another project, series two of BBC kids show High Hoops, which is due out in November. Having retired from the fighting game and waltzed away from the glitz and glamour of Strictly, Nicola is finally free to dedicate herself completely to acting. Boxer Nicola Adams splits from OnlyFans model girlfriend of seven years after couples' therapy fails to save relationship "It's something that I've always wanted to do," she says. "It's just that I didn't have time with everything else that I had going on. "[Strictly] was good to be able to try something new. It's something that I enjoy doing, always getting to try new things." One thing that isn't on her radar is a return to the ring, with the former flyweight WBO World Champion insisting organisations like Misfits couldn't offer her a big enough contract. Off the film set, Nicola is keen to use her platform for good and has partnered with Health Equals to raise awareness of toxic air pollution in Britain. Worryingly, new research shows that more than 25,000 schools in England, Scotland and Wales are in areas that breach World Health Organization (WHO) air quality guidelines. And some 12 million children live in areas where pollution breached WHO guidelines. As a result, they are at risk of serious, long-term health problems, from asthma and other lung conditions to increased risk of heart disease and stroke. Nicola says: "That's just mad to me that all these kids are affected and nothing's being done about it. And these are kids that are going to be our lasting legacies, our future moving forward. And we're already stunting their life expectancy from such a young age. 'As an athlete, clean air wasn't just important — it was essential. You train hard, eat right, do everything to be at your best, so the air you breathe should also be safe. That's why I'm happy to be supporting Health Equals in pushing government for change. Now, as a parent, I see the impact of polluted air more clearly than ever. I worry that my son may struggle with breathing issues, and it's heartbreaking to think that whilst simply attending school, he's at risk. "I also work with young people across the country, and it shocks me how many of them are growing up in toxic environments they can't escape. Clean air isn't a luxury — it's a basic right. No child should have their potential limited by the postcode they grow up in.' Lives are being cut short by up to 16 years in parts of the UK. The air we breathe is part of the problem. Love Island fans slam Dejon for ‘turning his back' on best mate Harry as viewers rage ‘he's worse than him'
LOVE Island fans have slammed Dejon Noel-Williams for "turning his back" on pal Harry during last night's episode. The drama hit new heights after Harry Cooksley was exposed during the infamous Grafties Awards, leading the entire villa to shun him. 4 4 4 In the clips shown, Harry was seen flirting up a storm with Shakira Khan, Emma Munro and Angel Swift, much to the dismay of his partner Helena Ford. His actions led to even his close pal and confidant Dejon washing his hands of him, as the shamed star headed outside to sleep on the day beds. However, viewers at home have lashed out at Dejon and have argued that the pair have egged each other on all series. One fan expressed on X: 'Dejon was actively encouraging Harry's antics, going along with it to stop Harry settling down and therefore being competition to him. 'When Harry's actions have caught up on him, Dejon distances himself so it doesn't affect his own game! Game player!' Another unhappy viewer fumed: 'Dejon turning his back on Harry after being in his ear all season and co-signing his behaviour is definitely something. That boy is calculated.' Somebody else wrote: 'Dejon has been entertaining Harry's actions for the entire time and suddenly now his PR is in the mud, he's distancing himself. I am telling you this man is worse.' A fourth Love Island enthusiast commented: 'Dejon completely turning on Harry shows you the sort of fake game player he is. Harry's done wrong but to completely turn on your best friend in there in his time of need most is crazy.' While a fifth criticised: 'The way Dejon threw Harry under the bus as if he wasn't his accomplice throughout every bad behaviour Harry has done is wicked. With friends like that, who needs enemies.' Helena was shown a clip of Harry telling his ex Emma that he still loved her and planning a date on the outside. She raged: 'I didn't expect you to be sat with your ex-girlfriend talking about getting back into bed with her. "You just don't shut things down. You entertain everyone and everything.' The tense episode also saw Harry reveal his true feelings for both Shakira and Helena, as he told Conor Phillips how he really felt. He said: 'I'll be honest mate - and I know you're probably gonna tell her this. I think it's more friendly, for me. 'I just feel like, with Shakira it was way more natural in my opinion. It was more relationship-focused, more emotional. I feel like I was way more into her." After hearing this, Conor told him: "That's fine man, that's how you feel. No one can blame you for how you feel. But you just need to communicate it man." Relaying his feelings for Shakira to a frustrated Helena, she decided to finally end things for good with him. She told him Shakira wasn't going to be with him and 'I don't wanna be with you either,' before storming off.
