Jets' new receiver has a motto for himself which the team is following

The Jets signed Tyler Johnson this offseason to add some depth at wide receiver. The veteran pass-catcher follows a motto that has helped him stick around and find success in his NFL career. Now the rest of the Jets' receiving corps is following that same motto.
Getting One Percent Better
While speaking with the media, Johnson shared his mindset as he enters a new receiver room this season.

'We're able to go out here and make plays and get 1 percent better every day,' Johnson said, per the team's website.

The Jets' roster is young and inexperienced. This makes the offseason practices that much more important. Veteran leadership is crucial.
Johnson, a former Buccaneers wideout, is looking to make a big impact this season for the Jets. Last season, he put up 26 receptions, 291 yards, and one touchdown.
He now joins a new offense with only one bona fide star in Garrett Wilson, instead of the stars of Tampa Bay. This benefits Johnson, as he could possibly get his targets in an offense that could support him.

Jets' roster needs to show continual growth
With this roster being so young, and maybe not at the quality of the top rosters in the league, the growth they display throughout the season will prove to be crucial.
If they are stagnant, and the front office, along with the coaches, do not see development throughout the season, changes will be made.

However, a lot of players on this roster are hungry for a new year, a different outlook, and a team that will change the Jets' future.
This team could surprise many, leading them to a good offseason next year. Perhaps the Jets could make a big run in 2026.

Addison Barger and Nathan Lukes also connected as AL East-leading Toronto improved to 27-10 in its last 37 games. Bo Bichette had two hits and All-Star slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. walked three times. José Berríos (5-3) pitched six innings of one-run ball, bouncing back nicely after he struggled in a no-decision against the New York Yankees on Wednesday. The right-hander improved to 16-6 with a 2.96 ERA in 27 career starts against Chicago. Mike Tauchman had three hits and two RBIs for the last-place White Sox, who won two of three at Toronto last month. Colson Montgomery, one of the team's top prospects, went 0 for 3 with a walk in his home debut. The Blue Jays opened an 8-1 lead when they scored five times in the sixth. Barger hit a two-run drive off Sean Burke for his 12th homer, and Loperfido chopped a two-run single over a drawn-in infield. Red Sox hit 3 home runs, power past Rockies 9-3 to post 4th straight victory
BOSTON (AP) — Roman Anthony hit a two-run home run, Ceddanne Rafaela homered for the third straight game and the Boston Red beat the the Colorado Rockies 9-3 on Monday night. Boston rookie Richard Fitts (1-3) allowed five hits, two earned runs and struck out six over 5 2/3 innings to notch his first major league victory. Romy Gonzalez added a solo homer, and Abraham Toro had a two-run double to help Boston post its fourth straight win and seventh in nine games. Rockies starter Austin Gomber (0-2) exited after 4 2/3 innings, yielding five runs and seven hits, including Anthony's homer. Colorado's first run of the game was set up by a throwing error on Boston shortstop Trevor Story. In the sixth inning, the Rockies pulled to 5-3 on a fielder's choice RBI by Michael Toglia and RBI single by Ryan McMahon. But Boston added to its lead an inning later via RBI singles by Jarren Duran and Carlos Narváez Key moment With the score tied 1-1 in the second, Toro hit a line drive double over the head of Toglia, scoring Tyler Freeman and Carlos Narváez.
