SEC recruiting rankings after Alabama landed multiple 5-star commitments
However, the average Georgia commitment is not as highly ranked as the average Alabama Crimson Tide or LSU Tigers commit. LSU leads the SEC with an average commitment rating of 93.62. The Tigers notably have a commitment from the nation's No. 1 wide receiver recruit, Tristen Keys.
LSU's recruiting class is still ranked behind Alabama, who has the SEC's most (and nation's most) commitments from five-star recruits after an impressive recruiting streak in late June and early July. The Crimson Tide recently added commitments from five-star defensive back Jireh Edwards and five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan. Alabama and head coach Kalen DeBoer are positioned to have a chance to sign the nation's top recruiting class in the 2026 cycle.
Contrarily, Alabama's in-state rival, the Auburn Tigers, is struggling on the recruiting trail. Head coach Hugh Freeze's uncertain future is a big factor in why the Tigers have the SEC's worst recruiting class. Auburn appears to be waiting to see how the 2025 season goes before committing significant resources to their class of 2026. The Tigers are currently ranked lower than teams like Idaho, Texas State and Tulsa. Auburn will finish the recruiting cycle ranked higher than all those non-Power Four teams, but the Tigers are not off to a good start.

Former Alabama quarterback, college football analyst shares Nick Saban coaching rumor
Since announcing his retirement back in Jan. 2024, former Alabama Crimson Tide head football coach Nick Saban's name has been talked about often surrounding if the greatest of all-time would ever get back into coaching at some point. Yes, even despite Saban's current roles that keep the former head coach around the sport such as being an analyst on ESPN's "College GameDay," many across college football have wondered if he would ever return to the sidelines. Well, on Monday morning, former Alabama starting quarterback Greg McElroy shared on McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning that he has heard from a "very much in the know person" that Saban could potentially consider returning to coaching in the future. "A very much in the know person that I have a lot of respect for and have spent a lot of time around and just really, really admire, they seem to think Nick Saban's not done coaching," McElroy said during a segment that also featured ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum. "He's pretty adamant that he thinks Nick Saban will be coaching again." McElroy also added that "if it wasn't someone notable, I'd never say a word." According to On3's Brett McMurphy as well, McElroy also later stated that "I don't think he's coming back," and that "I don't buy that" when talking about Saban potentially missing competition and considering a comeback. The head coach at Alabama for 17 seasons from 2007-23, Saban won six national championships with the Crimson Tide before announcing his retirement in Jan. 2024. Saban is not expected to be at 2025 SEC football media days this week in Atlanta, but this is likely now a talking point to watch for as Alabama takes center stage this upcoming Wednesday. LSU baseball's Daniel Dickinson picked in 6th round. Where is the star's next stop?
LSU baseball infielder Daniel Dickinson was selected at No. 185 overall by the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday in the third round of the 2025 MLB Draft. Dickinson is the first Tiger off the board on day two of the draft. He follows former teammates Kade Anderson, Chase Shores, Ethan Frey and Anthony Eyanson, all of whom heard their names called on Sunday. lists Dickinson as the draft's No. 80 prospect. He ascended on scouts' lists by establishing himself as LSU's everyday second baseman in his first year of Power Four baseball. Following two seasons at Utah Valley, Dickinson batted .315 with 75 hits and 49 RBI. Dickinson likely slots into professional ball as a second baseman. He made just four errors all season. Scouts liked his control of the strike zone but noted the transition to wood bats at the professional level as a cause for concern. The scouting report also noted that Dickinson struggled at shortstop during fall practice with LSU. Dickinson was a key cog in the LSU lineup as the Tigers won their second College World Series in three years. He was consistent vs SEC pitching even as other bats in the Tigers lineup struggled. LSU will miss Dickinson's veteran presence in the middle of the infield, but LSU is in good hands with the return of shortstop Steven Milam.
