SEC recruiting rankings after Alabama landed multiple 5-star commitments
The Georgia Bulldogs have the SEC's best recruiting class following a dominant recruiting run in June. The Bulldogs' most recent commitment is from four-star tight end Brayden Fogle. No other SEC team has more commitments than Georgia's 27. However, the average Georgia commitment is not as highly ranked as the average Alabama Crimson Tide or LSU Tigers commit. LSU leads the SEC with an average commitment rating of 93.62. The Tigers notably have a commitment from the nation's No. 1 wide receiver recruit, Tristen Keys. LSU's recruiting class is still ranked behind Alabama, who has the SEC's most (and nation's most) commitments from five-star recruits after an impressive recruiting streak in late June and early July. The Crimson Tide recently added commitments from five-star defensive back Jireh Edwards and five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan. Alabama and head coach Kalen DeBoer are positioned to have a chance to sign the nation's top recruiting class in the 2026 cycle. Contrarily, Alabama's in-state rival, the Auburn Tigers, is struggling on the recruiting trail. Head coach Hugh Freeze's uncertain future is a big factor in why the Tigers have the SEC's worst recruiting class. Auburn appears to be waiting to see how the 2025 season goes before committing significant resources to their class of 2026. The Tigers are currently ranked lower than teams like Idaho, Texas State and Tulsa. Auburn will finish the recruiting cycle ranked higher than all those non-Power Four teams, but the Tigers are not off to a good start. SEC class of 2026 recruiting rankings All recruiting rankings are according to 247Sports as of July 7.

LSU football misses on top tight end target, losing to SEC rival
LSU football missed on one of its top tight end targets as four-star Brayden Fogle committed to Georgia on Friday. Fogle broke the news on social media. Fogle selected the Bulldogs out of a top three that also included the Tigers and Penn State. The four-star prospect took official visits to all three at the end of May and into June. Advertisement On3's Industry Rankings rank Fogle as the No. 10 tight end in the 2026 cycle. 247Sports is the highest on Fogle, slotting him at No. 132 overall. Both outlets put him at No. 7 or higher of recruits in Ohio. With Fogle off the board, the Tigers are left with few quality tight-end targets left in the 2026 cycle. They likely need to put effort into flipping an already committed prospect if the position is still a priority. If LSU doesn't find luck at the high school level, the Tigers will make an aggressive push for transfer portal tight ends after the season. LSU's 2026 class ranks No. 6 in the nation and No. 3 in the SEC following Fogle's decision, according to On3's Industry Rankings. Georgia football lands pivotal 4-star tight end commitment
The post Georgia football lands pivotal 4-star tight end commitment appeared first on ClutchPoints. As the summer months pass by and fall draws closer, the Georgia football program's focus on 2025 solidifies. Head coach Kirby Smart and his roster are looking to make another run at not only the SEC Championship, but a spot in the College Football Playoff again. Quarterback Gunnar Stockton is entering his first season as the top signal caller. If things go well and he returns to Athens in 2026, then he will have a new weapon to target. According to on3's Hayes Fawcett on X (formerly Twitter), the Georgia football team has gained a commitment from four-star tight end Brayden Fogle. 'BREAKING: Four-Star TE Brayden Fogle has Committed to Georgia, he tells me for @rivals,' posted Fawcett on the social media platform. 'The 6'4 235 TE from Mansfield, OH chose the Bulldogs over LSU and Penn State. 'All Glory to God!! Go Dawgs!'' Advertisement The Georgia football program has developed its fair share of tight ends throughout team history. Benjamin Watson was a former first-rounder who had a long NFL career. Orson Charles starred when Bulldogs legend Aaron Murray played quarterback at the school. Of course, Fogle would also be following in the footsteps of Brock Bowers, who could be the best player to ever play the position for the Georgia football program. Could Fogle reach those heights with Stockton and his successors throwing him the football? Could Brayden Fogle follow in Georgia football legend Brock Bowers' steps? Mandatory Credit: © Jake Furr/News Journal / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Coming off another SEC Championship win and College Football Playoff appearance, Smart and the Bulldogs will almost certainly want to go further in not only 2025, but beyond as well. If Stockton has a great junior season, he could leave early. But if he decides to come back in 2026 for another run, then Fogle will be waiting for him. Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has plenty of options at the position moving forward, yet Fogle could be a difference maker early on. Advertisement That's something that Bowers was able to do as well. He starred for the Georgia football team as almost as soon as he arrived in Athens. Smart's staff knew how to utilize him, particularly under former offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Can Bobo get the same type of production out of Fogle in 2026? That is certainly something that all parties hope will happen. Notre Dame football offers multiple prospects on Wednesday including a 5-star tackle
Notre Dame football offers multiple prospects on Wednesday including a 5-star tackle After a great conversation with @MikeDenbrock and @NDFootball I'm blessed to receive an offer from The University of Notre Dame. ☘️ — Brayden Fogle (@brayden_fogle23) May 21, 2025 Notre Dame football went on another one of its offer sprees on Wednesday, as they sent out multiple scholarships to stars across the country. Once again, the Irish weren't focusing on just one class, as multiple were given the good news. They currently have 16 commits in the 2026 group, but should expect at least 8-10 more verbals before it is all said and done. Notre Dame does not have a commitment in the 2027 cycle, but it is just a matter of time until that changes. They are hard at work on this class, and it should pay off soon. Find out below who the Irish offered on Wednesday, as they continue their impressive recruiting success following a run to the College Football Playoff championship game. (Note: All prospect rankings are according to the 247Sports Composite. 2026 tight end Brayden Fogle The Ohio native was one of the targets, as the 6-foot, 3-inch and 225-pounder is one of the best prospects in the country. He's ranked as the nation's No. 162 prospect and has a very impressive offer list. Notre Dame is a bit late to his recruitment, but still has plenty of time to make up ground. 2027 safety Tory Pittman III I am blessed to announce that I have received an offer from @NDFootball ☘️!@RingsNthingsCA @CentralEaglesFB — Tory Pittman III (@ToryP_3) May 21, 2025 Notre Dame has a great recent recruiting success with some of the top members of the secondary, and Pittman could be the next one that lands in South Bend. The 6-foot and 185-pound star is one of the best players in his class, ranking as the No. 40 overall prospect. 2026 Tight end Preston Fryzel Another offer to a 2026 tight end, Fryzel also resides in Ohio. It's pretty clear that the Irish have made that a focus state, especially considering head coach Marcus Freeman's connection. At 6-foot, 4-inches and 220-pound, Fryzel fits the mold of a big time prospect, even though his ranking, No. 683, doesn't reflect that. 2027 Offensive tackle Mark Matthews My favorite offer of the day went out to Matthews, who is the No. 8 overall player in his class. At 6-foot, 6-inches and 270-pounds, he has the frame of an elite tackle who could protect any quarterbacks blindside. Notre Dame has had a good amount of success recruiting the state of Florida, and hopefully that continues with Matthews. Overview It's become pretty obvious that Notre Dame is looking for a tight end in the 2026 cycle, with the two new offers out on Wednesday. They currently don't have a player committed at the position, as the search continues to find a fit. The 2027 offers are all about relationships and evaluation, they like both of them enough that waiting to offer later didn't make sense. I love the aggressiveness of this staff on the trail, and the success should continue even if it's not immediate.
