, Son of Sardaar 2, a comedy-drama starring Ajay Devgn, managed to earn just Rs 6.75 crore on its debut day. This was significantly lower than the original Son of Sardaar, which had garnered Rs 10.80 crore on its first day. Despite Ajay Devgn's strong screen presence and a wide theatrical rollout across various metropolitan cities, the sequel failed to attract audiences in large numbers. In contrast, Devgn's earlier 2025 release, Raid 2, had enjoyed a much stronger launch with Rs 19.25 crore in opening day earnings. That film benefited from a national holiday release and an impressive 34% occupancy rate, ultimately crossing the Rs 100 crore mark within its opening week.

Son of Sardaar 2 sees Ajay Devgn return as Jassi, alongside Mrunal Thakur, who plays the female lead. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora—marking his Bollywood debut—the film also includes a vast supporting ensemble. The cast features talents such as Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Kubbra Sait, Chunky Panday, Vindu Dara Singh, and Sharat Saxena. Late actor Mukul Dev also appears posthumously, while Ashwini Kalsekar and Sahil Mehta play pivotal roles.
Dhadak 2 Also Falls Behind
On the same day, Dhadak 2 also saw a subdued response from moviegoers. The romantic drama, led by Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi, earned Rs 3.35 crore on its opening day. This figure is less than half of what the 2018 original, Dhadak, collected on its first day—Rs 8.71 crore. Despite fresh leads and a contemporary storyline, Dhadak 2 didn't replicate the magic or momentum of the debut film.
Directed and written by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is presented as a spiritual successor to the original. It also functions as a reinterpretation of the critically acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. Produced jointly by Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures, the film aimed to deliver a powerful social message wrapped in a romantic narrative—but struggled to find its footing during the initial release.

Su From So Karnataka Box Office 2nd Saturday Update: Kannada blockbuster registers biggest day of its run; Set for Rs 60 crore plus finish
Su From So, directed by JP Thuminad and starring Raj B Shetty is on a historic run at the Karnataka box office. The movie is having a kind of run that very few movies enjoy. After an excellent first week of Rs 20.80 crore gross, the movie added Rs 3.80 crore on its second Friday. The second Friday collections were not just higher than the first Friday collections, but they were almost four times the day 1 number. On second Saturday, the estimates for Su From So are an incredible Rs 5.50 crore. The Day Wise Karnataka Gross Collections Of Su From So Are As Under Day Karnataka Gross Collections Week 1 Rs 20.80 crore 2nd Friday Rs 3.80 crore 2nd Saturday Rs 5.50 crore (est) Total Rs 30.10 crore gross in 9 days Su From So's 2nd Weekend In Karnataka Will Be Twice As Big As Its First A Rs 15 crore second weekend is on the cards, and that would mean that the second weekend collections will be more than double of the first weekend collections. The second week will certainly be higher than the first week. The early projections are that Su From So will end up with a lifetime of Rs 60 - 70 crore. For a movie to double its first week numbers is already considered to be excellent, but for it to do three times or more is just phenomenal. Su From So Is Performing Well Despite Strong Local Competition One must not forget that Su From So is playing in theatres when multiple Indian movies are performing well. Saiyaara, Mahavatar Narsimha, Thalaiva Thalaivi and Kingdom are already doing well and Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 have also taken up screens. The future of Indian cinema looks bright with majority audiences preferring content over stars. The films that have recently done well are the films with no big cast. One of them is an animated film that already has a limited market in a country like India. Su From So In Theatres

Rs 697cr disbursed to over 34.85L farmers in state under PM-Kisan
Bhubaneswar: A total of Rs 697 crore was disbursed to over 34.85 lakh farmers in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme on Saturday. The state-level programme, held at ICAR-CIFA on the city's outskirts was attended by chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferring Rs 20,500 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.7 crore farmers across the country from Varanasi. Under the scheme, Rs 2,000 each was transferred directly to the bank accounts of farmers. Majhi said, "It is our govt's commitment to ensure the inclusion of all eligible beneficiaries under the scheme. No eligible farmer in the state should be left out," he said, adding that saturation drives are underway in all blocks. He emphasised the govt's pro-farmer approach, highlighting that over 50 lakh farmers are also receiving Rs 4,000 annually under the CM-Kisan scheme. Together with PM-Kisan, eligible farmers are receiving a total of Rs 10,000 per year, he added. Calling on farmers to diversify, Majhi asked them to practice fisheries and animal husbandry to boost income. "Your income will not just double but multiply many times," he said. The CM also spoke about additional support under the Samruddha Krushak Yojana, under which farmers are being given Rs 800 per quintal as input assistance. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Couple Wonders Why Their Photo Went Viral Till They Go Through The Comments Learn More Undo He said around 17 lakh farmers received Rs 6,000 crore in kharif 2024, and over 3 lakh farmers got more than Rs 1,600 crore during rabi. Deputy CM K V Singh Deo said Odisha has received the 'Agriculture Today' award and reiterated the state's focus on doubling farmer incomes. He urged farmers to take up oilseed cultivation and adopt organic methods for better soil health and sustainable farming. The day was observed as 'PM-Kisan Diwas' across all districts, blocks and panchayats, with awareness campaigns held to educate farmers about eligibility criteria under the scheme. St Xavier's School ordered to deposit Rs 2cr in FD amid fee dispute
Ahmedabad: St Xavier's School in Navrangpura was directed by the fee regulatory committee (FRC) to deposit nearly Rs 2 crore in a fixed deposit (FD) after it was found to have collected Rs 16,000 more per student than the approved fee. The committee issued a notice to the school and called for a personal hearing, during which this interim arrangement was made. According to reports, the FRC set the annual fees for the academic years 2024–25, 2025–26, and 2026–27. Compared to the previous year (2023–24), the committee reduced the fee for Classes 1 to 8 by Rs 16,859. However, the school continued to collect the earlier proposed amount of Rs 39,360 from students, prompting complaints from parents. In response, the Ahmedabad district education officer (DEO) ordered the school to refund the excess amount within seven days. The school, however, failed to comply, stating that it filed an appeal with the revision committee challenging the FRC's fee order. The DEO rejected this explanation, and the FRC issued a fresh notice, summoning the school for a hearing. According to the FRC's ruling, if the revision committee upholds the FRC's original fee order, the FD amount will be refunded to the students. If the committee approves a fee hike, the school will be allowed to reclaim the FD amount along with the accrued interest. This interim solution ensures the protection of student interests while the fee revision appeal is under review.
