Strictly ‘drug probe' star was ‘off their face' on booze during show & crew smelt alcohol on their breath
The Sun exclusively revealed at the weekend that the BBC had called in external lawyers to explore claims that two people from the dance contest had been taking cocaine.
They were widely known to be using the drug, and it's been alleged that one of these Strictly performers were equally infamous for being a drinker.
So much so that it was believed that junior members of the team were asked to keep an eye on them, during last year's show, to look for signs that they may have been boozing during work hours.
When The Sun took these claims to the BBC last year they said they were not true, but its understood that the drugs probe may end up scrutinising all of their behaviour.
A TV insider said: "The person in question is renowned for loving to party, and that is a major problem when it impacts on their ability to do the job they need to do on Strictly in a safe and professional manner.
"It's not just about something being illegal or legal, it's about the BBC's workplace policies and how the behaviour of certain individuals can impact on their work colleagues.
"On a very physical show like Strictly, with lots of sets and moving parts, the idea of someone being intoxicated in any way is wholly unacceptable."
It's now believed that the BBC are set to offer the two stars at the centre of the drugs storm the chance to attend rehab.
It comes amid claims it was widely known they took cocaine on the show, with a celebrity claiming it was "well known on the show that two stars took cocaine"
One star allegedly said to another, about a third: "Have you seen their pupils ... they're off their face."
Executives are now considering adding random drugs tests next year when Strictly tours where after-parties are known for wild scenes.
A BBC spokesperson: 'We do not recognise these claims and, as previously outlined to The Sun, the scenario they put to us involving anyone being asked to monitor an individual is categorically untrue.'

Coronation Street casts Hollywood actor to play returning character's husband
Catherine Tydlesley is set to reprise her role as Eva Price on Coronation Street and it's been claimed that a Hollywood star will join her as bosses aim to rival EastEnders Catherine Tydlesley is set to reprise her role as Eva Price on Coronation Street, and will arrive with a Hollywood star playing her new husband. The actress, 41, quit her role as Eva on the cobbles in 2018 but is now said to be making a comeback, and the former barmaid will now be installed as Rovers Return landlady. Reports surrounding the return of Leanne Battersby's sister emerged earlier this year, but then nothing was announced. Fresh reports just last week claimed the planned plot was now approaching. It's thought that the move has come about after EastEnders bosses revealed that Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) will be taking the reins of the Queen Victoria pub. Aaron McCusker, who starred as Freddie Mercury's boyfriend in the film Bohemian Rhapsody, is reportedly set to arrive alongside her as her new husband. A source told The Sun: "Corrie bosses were never going to take EastEnders shrewd decision to reinstate Kat and Alfie at the Vic lying down. So they took their time looking for the perfect actor to play her husband to Eva as she makes her return to Corrie as the new boss of the Rovers." The insider added that Corrie bosses knew they had found the 'perfect' actor as soon as the Irish-born star walked into the room. They added of his character: "Aaron's character is also someone not to be messed with, and the locals are going to be in for a shock if they think they can take advantage of his good nature and that cheeky Irish charm. "It's the start of an exciting new chapter in the pub's history." Aaron is also known for his role as Jamie Maguire in Shameless, whilst Catherine has appeared in shows such as Scarborough and The Good Ship Murder since her exit from the serial. She was also set to star in a cancelled touring production of Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical last year and went viral over a social media scandal known as Cakegate in late 2023. The actress first appeared on Coronation Street in 2011, and arrived as the daughter of Stella Price (Michelle Collins), who had arrived to take over the pub herself and reveal herself as the long-lost mother of Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson). Over the course of seven years, Catherine saw her alter-ego through numerous relationships with the likes of Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) and Nick Tilsey (Ben Price). Her most notable relationship was with Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward), but that started to go awry when he began an affair with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon). Instead of confronting Aidan head-on about his infidelity, she decided to take revenge by putting a bright pink Range Rover on his credit card and then decided to fake a pregnancy. Maria discovered Eva's lies and exposed them all at the wedding but Eva later discovered that she was in fact pregnant with Aidan's baby. In order to go through with the birth in secret, she went off to a remote cottage and had planned to give baby Susie away to Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor). However, Aidan later took his own life and Eva began to grow close to her daughter, eventually opting to leave in the back of a taxi with her for good. If Eva does return and take over the Rovers, she will be following in the footsteps of former characters such as Annie Walker (Doris Speed), Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear) and Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard), all of whom have helmed the nation's most famous pub over the course of the show's history. One such landlady is Jenny Connor, who is confirmed to be leaving the ITV soap. Zara McDermott and Louis Tomlinson take relationship to next level in sweet snap
Love Island star Zara McDermott and Louis Tomlinson took their relationship to the next level by going Instagram official this evening after sparking up a romance earlier this year Zara McDermott and Louis Tomlinson took their relationship to the next level and shared a sweet snap of them sharing a kiss on social media. The Love Island star and the One Direction singer have been dating for several months, but have been keeping their romance away from social media besides a few comments and likes. She was previously spotted singing along at her boyfriend's concert as the 28-year-old went to support her 33-year-old partner at his show in Zurich last month. The sighting comes not long after the loved-up couple were seen having fun together at this year's Glastonbury Festival. And now, Zara took to her Instagram page to share a selfie she took of the two sharing a kiss. In the snap, seemingly taken on holiday, Zara smiled as she held his cheek and gave him a kiss. Louis looked happy as he held the camera. It comes after Taylor Swift sparks engagement rumours as fans spot Travis Kelce's lock screen. Friends and fans were delighted with the social media milestone and rushed to share their happiness for the couple. "Yaaaay," Strictly Come Dancing's Tasha Ghouri wrote. Ellie Louise Leach added: "Soooooo here for this," and another posted: "Love seeing you glowing and happy." One fan joked: "I'm so happy that my boyfriend has a girlfriend." The couple first started romance rumours earlier in the year after being photographed on a cosy date in Suffolk. The moment in March came just a short time after Zara's split from her long-term boyfriend, Sam Thompson. Sam and Zara called time on their relationship for good in December 2024. They had initially met in 2019 after she shot to fame on Love Island. They took a break but soon got back together and seemed to be hopelessly in love until it was announced they went their separate ways after five years together. Despite Zara being in a new relationship, it's been said that Sam isn't so keen to date again. At one point, he dated Samie Elishi but they soon called time on their brief romance. After their split, he was spotted back on celebrity dating app Raya. He later made the decision to stay single for some time. Speaking on his Staying Relevant podcast, Sam said: "I'm going to work on myself. No dating, I'm not ready and I've realised that."

Love Island fans plead 'hurry up' as they all issue same complaint during ITV final
Love Island's grand final got underway on Monday night but viewers were quick to all issue the same complaint about one thing as they waited to discover who would be crowned this year's winners Love Island fans all issued the same complaint as the live final got underway on Monday night. The ITV2 dating show wrapped up its twelfth series as couples Angel Swift and Ty Isherwood, Harry Cooksley and Shakira Khan, Yasmin Pettett and Jamie Rhodes, and Toni Laites and Cach Mercher all hoped to win the public vote and walk off with the £50,00 prize. But just minutes into the episode airing, fans were quick to slam the programme as 'boring' and flooded social media with their reactions. It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025. One wrote: "I forgot how f****** BORING the #LoveIsland finale always is," and the opinion was echoed across the site. Another viewer said: "Are they not doing the declaration of love crap this year? "If not thank god that is boring because half the things they say to each other is not genuine because most of them break up within a few months," and a third fumed: "Thank god they stopped doing those dramatically long final dates and near-wedding speeches . So boring" Others just appeared keen to know who will walk off with the £50,000 cash prize, as one said: "The final is always so boring, just give us a 10 minute episode telling us who won we haven't got the patience anymore," and a fourth said: "May be a unpopular opinion but the final is the worst episode of the series, so dragged out and boring." A fifth viewer lamented: "i really wish i cared more about Angel and Ty but i just don't hurry up and rank them 4th so i can see which REAL couple wins" The reality show is now in its milestone 10th year and this series, it has been dubbed 'TV gold' by fans who hailed it 'iconic' with its summer of jaw-dropping twists and turns. And on the day of the final, it was announced that spin-off All Stars will return next years as well. Single Islanders from across the 10 years of the show will return to the famous Villa in South Africa, but this time they'll be in the villa for six weeks instead of five. "We are very excited about series 3 and you can expect the twists and turns to continue in All Stars, after an incredible smash hit summer series.' The second series of Love Island: All Stars aired earlier this year, and was won by Gabby Allen and Case O'Gorman. The series also saw the reunion of Ronnie Vint and Harriet Blackmore - but it didn't come without complaints. In February, the show lodged over 2,000 complaints to Ofcom in its final week, as fans fumed at various stars for their "bullying behaviour". On February 12, there were 1,347 complaints, followed by 820 on February 11, 63 on February 13 and 57 on February 16. The February 12 episode saw Ekin-Su and Elma clash over the latter's comment about Ekin-Su and Curtis having the weakest connection. Things only got worse between the group when Ekin-Su had kissed Sammy during the heart rate challenge. During the argument, an angry Elma swore at Ekin-Su and Curtis and told them to "shut their mouths". Tonight, viewers will see either Toni and Cach, Yasmin and Jamie, Shakira and Harry or Ty and Angel take home the crown as the 12th series concludes. This series however, has also been hounded with complaints. Last week, it was revealed that fans had complained to Ofcom over scenes where they claimed Islanders were bullying Shakira. A total of 9,339 complaints were made to Ofcom in this vein, whilst a further 298 were made about the way Blu spoke to Toni. But for those feeling a little inspired by this year's Islanders and think they have what it takes to head to the iconic villa, dreams can come true as anyone can apply for the show. ITV have a section dedicated to Love Island on its website where hopefuls can submit their application forms. It reads: "ITV2 & ITVX are looking for vibrant singles from across the UK who are looking for love in the sun! "The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise, they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders, who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island. If you think you've got what it takes, then we want to hear from you!" Those wanting to apply must be aware of the all-important eligibility requirements. All applicants must be at least 18-years-old at the date of applying and they must not be currently employed by ITV, Motion or Cast It Reach. They also must not have a live-in partner or relative who works on Love Island. Applicants need to have or be prepared to get a passport and they must be available to participate in Love Island for a minimum of ten consecutive weeks. Bosses are able to keep the names and contact details for applicants so they can reach out with opportunities for three years or suggest other ITV shows. As well as meeting all the eligibility criteria, those wanting to appear on Love Island will need to complete the application questions "honestly and truthfully".
