Bonnaroo 2025 Canceled Due to Extreme Weather: ‘We Are Beyond Gutted'
Just a day after it started, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival 2025 has been entirely canceled due to extreme weather.
The four-day event, which drew 70,000 attendees last year, began yesterday in Manchester, TN, with artists including Tyler, the Creator, Olivia Rodrigo and Vampire Weekend booked for headlining spots through Sunday night. But organizers nixed the rest of the event after 'significant' precipitation produced deteriorating conditions.

'We are beyond gutted, but we must make the safest decision and cancel the remainder of Bonnaroo,' reads the statement posted on the festival's official website.
Organizers explained that 'significant and steady precipitation that will produce deteriorating camping and egress conditions in the coming days' led them to call off this year's event. The festival encouraged those whose campsites are in good shape or who are staying in an RV or pre-pitched accommodation to spend the night, so organizers can safely escort them out tomorrow.
Earlier on Friday, organizers suspended shows due to weather around 1 p.m. and evacuated Centeroo shortly after. 'We have put our hearts and souls into making this weekend the most special one of the year, and cannot express how crushed we are to have to make this decision,' read the statement. 'Thank you in advance for your patience, your positivity and your unfailing Bonnaroovian spirit.'
All one-day ticket holders and parking purchasers for Friday through Sunday will be refunded. Those who bought four-day tickets and four-day camping accommodations will receive a 75 percent refund. Refunds will be processed in 'as little as 30 days,' said the organizers.

'Queer' San Francisco bookstore pulls 'Harry Potter' series after Rowling launches women's legal fund
A San Francisco bookstore has pulled the popular "Harry Potter" series from its shelves due to author J.K. Rowling's advocacy for women's rights in the transgender culture wars. Booksmith on Haight Street announced on June 10 that it was no longer carrying Rowling's books because of the world-famous author's recent decision to use her personal income from the series to launch a legal fund to help women fight for their "sex-based rights in the workplace, in public life, and in protected female spaces." The bookseller shared a notice inside their shop and on social media distancing themselves from the author. "In May of 2025, author J.K. Rowling publicly committed to using her private wealth from the Harry Potter series to develop the 'J.K. Rowling Women's Fund,' an organization dedicated to removing transgender rights 'in the workplace, in public life, and in protected female spaces.' With this announcement, we've decided to stop carrying her books," Booksmith announced. "We don't know exactly what her new 'women's fund' will entail, but we know that we aren't going to be a part of it," the notice said. "As a group of queer booksellers, we also had our adolescence shaped by wizards and elves. Look at us, it's obvious. If you or someone you love wants to dive into the world of 'Harry Potter,' we suggest doing so by buying used copies of these books." The bookstore also included a list of "Not HP" fantasy books it recommended as alternatives to Harry Potter on its website. Rowling's fund does not mention transgender rights directly. However, the author has faced immense backlash from transgender activists over the past few years for sharing her belief that women's rights are being threatened by the transgender movement. On the front page of the bookstore's website it asks for donations for a "books, not bans" drive. The bookstore pledged to send "queer, affirmative, necessary" books to communities across the country. Rowling's representatives and Booksmith did not immediately return a request for comment. Musician Boy George and actor Pedro Pascal picked fights with the author on social media over Rowling's views this month. "Bullies make me f------ sick," Pascal, who has a sibling who identifies as transgender, recently told Vanity Fair. After Boy George called Rowling a "rich, bored bully," earlier this month, she responded with a scathing response, calling out the musician's criminal past and explaining why she believes strongly in keeping biological men out of women's spaces.

‘KPop Demon Hunters' Soundtrack Slays With Chart-Topping Debut
The soundtrack to the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters becomes the highest debuting soundtrack of 2025 on the Billboard 200 chart, bowing at No. 8, while it also enters at No. 1 on the Soundtracks chart (both lists dated July 5). On the latter, the album is the first soundtrack from a Netflix show to reach No. 1 in over two years. The last soundtrack to debut in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 was the Wicked film soundtrack on the Dec. 7, 2024-dated chart, at No. 2. The Wicked soundtrack went on to spend eight weeks in the top 10, with four of those on 2025-dated charts (in January). Until this week, Wicked was the only soundtrack to spend time in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 in 2025. The KPop Demon Hunters film premiered on June 20 on Netflix alongside its soundtrack release that same day. In the tracking week ending June 22, KPop Demon Hunters debuted at No. 6 on Netflix's Top 10 Movies in United States chart. The Billboard 200 and Soundtracks charts rank, respectively, the most popular overall albums of the week, and soundtracks, in the United States, based on multimetric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new July 5, 2025-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard's website on July 1. The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack earned 31,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending June 26, according to Luminate. Of that sum, SEA units comprise 27,000 (equaling 37.48 million on-demand official streams of the set's tracks — it debuts at No. 10 on Top Streaming Albums), album sales comprise 3,000 (it debuts at No. 18 on Top Album Sales; it was only available to purchase as a standard download album) and TEA units comprise 1,000. Charli xcx Claps Back at ‘Boomer Comments' Criticizing Use of AutoTune During Glastonbury Performance: ‘Yawn'
Charli xcx has responded to 'boomer comments' about her Glastonbury set on the Other Stage on Saturday night (June 28). The Brat star drew one of the weekend's biggest crowds for her set on the festival's second-biggest stage; The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo were booked for Pyramid, while Loyle Carner and The Prodigy joined her on the Other. On Sunday night (June 29), Charli posted a string of comments on X (formerly Twitter) addressing critics of her set. 'like the idea that singing with deliberate autotune makes you a fraud or that not having a traditional band suddenly means you must not be a 'real artist' is like, the most boring take ever. yawn sorry just fell asleep xx,' she wrote. Charli then shared a five-star review from The Guardian, before closing with: 'really enjoying these boomer vibe comments on my glastonbury performance. it's super fascinating to me.' See her posts below. The set was well-received by many outlets and fans, though a minority of fans posted their displeasure. One called it 'one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life,' and another said she 'sounds so bad she has to sing with so much autotune every time she performs live.' The set was broadcast live on BBC One and on the channel's streaming service iPlayer. The performance followed her Coachella slot in April, and the Brat run is due to continue in the coming weeks before her final scheduled date in South Korea on Aug. 15. During the Glastonbury performance, Gracie Abrams performed the famous 'Apple' dance for the big screens, following other stars who've joined in on the viral trend at Charli's shows recently, including Chappell Roan and Lorde.
