In the main, it was a day for the bowlers, but Bersham's batsmen made hay to achieve 236 for nine in 40 overs. Aneesh Pattali led the way with 43, while five of his team-mates made contributions in the 20s.
Keith Embleton (3-40) was the pick of the bowlers for Mold, whose response realised 185 for nine (David Graham 69, Farhan Abdulla 4-39, Salu Sebastian 3-23).
Buckley Seconds climbed into the promotion spots via a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Llandudno Seconds, who were all out for 55 (Matthew Blunden 5-8). Harri Weigh's unbeaten 35 led Buckley to 56 for one inside 12 overs.
Gwersyllt Park Seconds prevailed by 34 runs against Conwy Seconds, who were bowled out for 94 (Ben Griffiths 3-9). Park had set 128 (Ben Callow 3-27).

Ryan Reynolds left in no doubt as James McClean gets honest about Wrexham role
Ryan Reynolds left in no doubt as James McClean gets honest about Wrexham role Wrexham have won three promotions in a row to reach the Championship and skipper James McClean has opened up on the impact of Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney James McClean has praised Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney for their impact at Wrexham (Image: Robbie Jay Barratt - AMA/Getty Images ) Wrexham captain James McClean has hailed the extent of involvement by co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in operating the club. The Hollywood duo have rejuvenated the Welsh side since taking over more than four years ago. Wrexham have secured three consecutive promotions under the guidance of manager Phil Parkinson, catapulting them from the National League to the Championship. Former Republic of Ireland international McClean has been instrumental in their ascent, contributing significantly to their recent triumphs in League One and League Two. And the 36-year-old wing-back has commended Reynolds and McElhenney for not meddling with team affairs. The celebrity pair contribute hugely in other areas, helping to enhance the club's profile through the 'Welcome to Wrexham' documentary, offering guidance to the squad, and making shrewd business moves to boost funds. McClean has now given credit to the actors for entrusting football-related choices to Parkinson and his coaching team. He spoke highly of his experience at the club so far, saying it has made him want to carry on playing for as long as possible. "It's class and I've found a place where I'm appreciated," McClean told the Irish News. "People have got a lot of respect for me and when that's the case, obviously I'll go above and beyond to repay that. Rob and Ryan are 100 per cent part of it, but they are very clever men. They are part of it to a certain extent. "They obviously don't get involved with team affairs, they leave that to the managers, but to have owners involved as they are in the right way, it's class. There are no words to describe the impact that they've had and the praise they deserve, because it's absolutely above and beyond." Wrexham are currently gearing up to compete in the Championship after a 43-year absence. Parkinson has strengthened his squad for the challenge ahead, enlisting Plymouth forward Ryan Hardie and Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward, with more signings anticipated. And McClean is feeling confident after issuing a note of caution against underestimating the club's chances of reaching the Premier League for the first time in their history. James McClean makes telling admission on Wrexham and Ryan Reynolds' involvement
James McClean has reflected on Wrexham's meteoric rise under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, backing the club to defy doubters with a historic promotion push in the Championship Wrexham skipper James McClean has lifted the lid on how involved co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney get in running the club. The Hollywood actors have transformed the Welsh side's fortunes since taking over more than four years ago. The Red Dragons have enjoyed three successive promotions under manager Phil Parkinson, taking them from the National League to the Championship. Former Republic of Ireland international McClean played a key role in their two most recent campaigns in League One and League Two. And the 36-year-old wing-back has praised Reynolds and McElhenney for resisting the temptation to interfere in playing matters. The pair are heavily involved in supporting the club in other ways, including boosting its profile through the Welcome to Wrexham documentary, providing players with advice and making savvy business deals to increase revenue. However, McClean believes that leaving key football decisions to Parkinson and his coaching staff has been a masterstroke by the two A-listers. He also spoke in glowing terms about his time at the club to date and how it has helped to prolong his career. "It's class and I've found a place where I'm appreciated," McClean told the Irish News. "People have got a lot of respect for me and when that's the case, obviously I'll go above and beyond to repay that. Wrexham are currently preparing to play in the Championship for the first time in 43 years. Parkinson has also brought in two new faces to help his side compete in the second tier, with Plymouth striker Ryan Hardie and Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward joining, and more expected to follow. While the manager is expected to be well-backed in the transfer market by Reynolds and McElhenney this summer, some pundits have already dismissed Wrexham's chances of pulling off an unprecedented fourth promotion in a row. But McClean was bullish when asked about the club's hopes of reaching the Premier League for the first time ever and warned people not to write them off. The ex-Sunderland and West Brom player said: "The rise of the club from where it was a few years ago to where it is now is great. We're on a roll at the minute, momentum is like a steam train, the buzz around the place is brilliant. "From our point of view, it's the same as every year. Wrexham U-turn on Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's powerful transfer tactic
Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have had to turn to a previous transfer tactic in a bid to help Phil Parkinson's side get deals over the line Wrexham have had to make a U-turn by enlisting their A-list owners to help seal crucial signings as competition in the transfer market heats up. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney sometimes had to get involved in persuading players to join when they first took over the Welsh club in February 2021 due to it being in the National League. Their hands-on approach included charming key targets over the phone, a strategy that paid off with high-profile captures like Paul Mullin from Cambridge United in July 2021. However, with Wrexham riding the wave of success with three back-to-back promotions taking them to the Championship, club director Shaun Harvey revealed in May that the actors' personal approaches were no longer necessary with players now lining up to join. Speaking on the Fearless in Devotion fan podcast, the former EFL chief executive said: "Rob and Ryan do speak to all of them, but it's usually afterwards. Famously, they did speak with Paul Mullin to tell him that they were serious. "When we were in the National League, they did need to become more involved to convince players that this wasn't just a scam. They don't need to get on a telephone call now to tell players that we're serious. "They can see that for themselves. The agents ring us now so we don't need to deploy them as much because of that." But fast forward three months, and with manager Phil Parkinson gearing up to build a squad fit for the second tier, he's revealed the co-owners have already had to reach out to at least one potential summer signing. Speaking to New Zealand news outlet Stuff, he said: "We're looking to sign a player and we've got a lot of competition to get the signature. I spoke to Rob and Ryan about it so they put a call in to the player as well, explained the back story and why we wanted them." While the target's identity remains under wraps, Wrexham have been linked with several high-profile stars this summer. They include Leicester legend Jamie Vardy, Fulham skipper Tom Cairney, and former West Ham pair Aaron Cresswell and Danny Ings. So far, Parkinson has welcomed two new faces during the current transfer window. Plymouth striker Ryan Hardie was the first to join on June 16, while Leicester City goalkeeper Danny Ward signed on Tuesday. Parkinson's plea for Reynolds and McElhenney's involvement comes after Wrexham were warned that replicating their recent triumphs next season will be a tall order. The cautionary note was struck by football finance guru Kieran Maguire parly due to the presence of numerous billionaire club owners in the Championship. Speaking on the Second Tier podcast, Maguire said: "I think the big issue for them is that you are against some pretty senior citizens. You're up against clubs where the owners have been quite happy to put in £300,000 to £400,000 a week like Steve Gibson at Middlesbrough. "Even the likes of Preston and Milwall, they've been losing £1m a month. All of a sudden it becomes a completely different beast. Yes, they will be connected with some big names, but at the same time they're going to find it not as easy." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
