Marchwiel and Wrexham end Corwen's unbeaten run this season
Division Two leaders Corwen headed into their latest fixture boasting an unbeaten record, but Marchwiel and Wrexham managed to end this in thrilling fashion.
It wasn't a day for batsmen at War Memorial Park, though, with the visitors' 40 overs yielding 117 for nine. Sam Shoemark and Darshana Sanjeewa both contributed 28 to the effort, as Will Roberts picked up 3-17.
Despite an unbeaten knock of 46 from Iwan Lloyd, Corwen's reply was ended on 111 with two balls remaining. Scott Lawrenson (3-26) and Muhammad Ghufran (2-21) were the pick of the Marchwiel and Wrexham attack.
Most of the Division Two matches were close encounters, but Carmel & District managed to buck this trend with their 145-run triumph at home to Pontblyddyn Seconds.
Supun Eranga hit a stunning 100 in Carmel's initial 223 for seven (Ben Sim 45, Maneesha Ayomal Nissanka 33). Seb Jackson claimed 3-38 for Pontblyddyn, who responded with 78 (Dave Evans 46, Amer Jamil 5-13).
Abergele squeaked past Pwllheli by nine runs, while seven runs was the margin of victory for Menai Bridge Seconds away to Ruthin, whose Osian Roberts claimed three wickets and hit 51.
Bersham got the better of Mold Seconds by 51 runs in a battle of the Division Three promotion wannabes.
In the main, it was a day for the bowlers, but Bersham's batsmen made hay to achieve 236 for nine in 40 overs. Aneesh Pattali led the way with 43, while five of his team-mates made contributions in the 20s.
Keith Embleton (3-40) was the pick of the bowlers for Mold, whose response realised 185 for nine (David Graham 69, Farhan Abdulla 4-39, Salu Sebastian 3-23).
Buckley Seconds climbed into the promotion spots via a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Llandudno Seconds, who were all out for 55 (Matthew Blunden 5-8). Harri Weigh's unbeaten 35 led Buckley to 56 for one inside 12 overs.
Gwersyllt Park Seconds prevailed by 34 runs against Conwy Seconds, who were bowled out for 94 (Ben Griffiths 3-9). Park had set 128 (Ben Callow 3-27).
Craig Wilson and Thomas Phillips both bagged 2-2 as Hawarden Park Seconds defeated Gresford Seconds (Oliver Jones 2-16) by five wickets.
Leaders Denbigh Seconds eased to a six-wicket success at home to Caernarfon while Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn's undefeated Division Four run was halted by an eight-wicket reverse at Connah's Quay Seconds.
Stuart Applewhite's 57 was the leading light in the visitors' 143 for eight (Jake Chare 3-24). Cole Hooson struck a brilliant 93 not out in Quay's winning chase of 145 for two.
Marchwiel and Wrexham Seconds got the better of Halkyn Seconds by 17 runs while Bersham Seconds beat Brymbo Thirds by four wickets. Sujeesh Vazhadan took four wickets as Brymbo were bowled out for 101.
Xander Apletree, Robert Goodwin and Myles Bennett finished with two wickets apiece in Hawarden Park Thirds' seven-wicket win over Pwllheli Seconds and there was a 40-run success for Carmel & District Seconds at Llanrwst Seconds, who were all out for 69 (Harry Nash 3-6).
Ranjith Appuhamy's 51 not out was crucial in Carmel's 109 for nine (Daniel Jones 4-20).
