A fringe top 100 recruit in the class of 2026, Onyejiaka's commitment comes with a reclassification. Instead, he will join the Crimson Tide in 2025, fresh off an Elite 8 showing.

This offseason, Alabama took to the transfer portal in hopes of replacing center Clifford Omoruyi. Oats and Company came away with Patriot League Player of the Year, Noah Williamson. The seven-foot center scored 17.6 points per game for the Bucknell Bison.
The addition of Onyejiaka will give Alabama options outside Williamson. Alongside Onyejiaka and Williamson, six-foot-eleven sophomore Aiden Sherrell will likely also be in the mix after scoring just 3.4 points per game as a first-year player in 2024.
Nevertheless, Alabama fans should temper expectations for Onyejiaka as a true freshman.
Adam Finkelstein, the director of scouting for 247Sports, says, "He misses a surprising amount of dunks for someone so physically dominant, isn't much of a scoring threat on the perimeter, and can lack solutions when not able to overpower the opposition."

However, he does earn high praise as a post-defender and rim protector. He could find himself in the mix as a defensive anchor, especially with the war chest of offensive talent at the disposal of Oats.
Alabama returns Latrell Wrightsell Jr., Labaron Philon, and Houston Mallette next season. Wrightsell Jr. is the most notable after scoring 11.5 points per game last year before suffering a season-ending injury.

Devils Ranked High for 2026 Stanley Cup Betting Odds
A recent report shows that among major sportsbooks, the New Jersey Devils have the eighth-best odds to win the Stanley Cup this season. ESPN Bet NHL Futures lists the Devils at +1600 to take home the Cup. This follows the 2024-25 season, when New Jersey was eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Carolina Hurricanes, 4–1. The Devils finished the regular season 42-33, ranking 16th in the league and 7th in the Eastern Conference. 2024–25 Playoff ResultsFirst Round Eliminations: Ottawa Senators: Lost to Toronto Maple Leafs (4–2) Tampa Bay Lightning: Lost to Florida Panthers (4–1) Montreal Canadiens: Lost to Washington Capitals (4–1) New Jersey Devils: Lost to Carolina Hurricanes (4–1) St. Louis Blues: Lost to Winnipeg Jets (4–3) Colorado Avalanche: Lost to Dallas Stars (4–3) Minnesota Wild: Lost to Vegas Golden Knights (4–2) Los Angeles Kings: Lost to Edmonton Oilers (4–2) Second Round Eliminations: Toronto Maple Leafs: Lost to Florida Panthers (4–3) Washington Capitals: Lost to Carolina Hurricanes (4–1) Winnipeg Jets: Lost to Dallas Stars (4–2) Vegas Golden Knights: Lost to Edmonton Oilers (4–1) Conference Final Eliminations: Carolina Hurricanes: Lost to Florida Panthers (4–1) Dallas Stars: Lost to Edmonton Oilers (4–1) Stanley Cup Final: Edmonton Oilers: Lost to Florida Panthers (4–2) Stanley Cup Champions: Florida Panthers Sportsbook Odds for 2025–26 Stanley Cup Winner ESPN Bet: Florida Panthers +600 Carolina Hurricanes +800 Colorado Avalanche +800 Edmonton Oilers +850 Vegas Golden Knights +850 Dallas Stars +1000 Tampa Bay Lightning +1400 New Jersey Devils +1600 FanDuel: Florida Panthers +700 Carolina Hurricanes +750 Vegas Golden Knights +850 Edmonton Oilers +850 Dallas Stars +900 Colorado Avalanche +950 Tampa Bay Lightning +1300 New Jersey Devils +1900 BetMGM: Florida Panthers +750 Edmonton Oilers +800 Colorado Avalanche +800 Vegas Golden Knights +850 Carolina Hurricanes +900 Dallas Stars +1000 Tampa Bay Lightning +1600 New Jersey Devils +1800 Why New Jersey Is Still in the Top 8 Despite last year's early exit, the Devils' projected 2025–26 roster has both high-end talent and depth. Stars like Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, Dawson Mercer, and Luke Hughes lead the way, supported by veterans Dougie Hamilton and Jacob Markstrom. Offseason additions Connor Brown and Evgenii Dadonov strengthen the bottom six, while continued development on defense and improved even-strength scoring are expected to boost the team's performance. If the Devils stay healthy, particularly Jack Hughes, maintain a solid goaltending rotation, and tighten their defensive identity, they could make a deep playoff push. Heading into the new season, they remain 8th in the league in Stanley Cup odds. Photo Credit: © Jerome Miron-Imagn Images

Steelers, Commanders trade pitch gives Aaron Rodgers another target
Steelers, Commanders trade pitch gives Aaron Rodgers another target originally appeared on The Sporting News Terry McLaurin's future with the Washington Commanders looks uncertain after he requested a trade last week. The veteran wide receiver seems ready for a new chapter away from Washington amid a contract standoff. Having recorded five consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, McLaurin is an attractive option for teams looking to strengthen their receiving corps. On Monday, The Athletic highlighted five teams that could become strong contenders for his services if the Commanders are open to deals. One of the five teams mentioned in the piece are the Pittsburgh Steelers, who made a move in the offseason to add DK Metcalf to be their No. 1 receiver. Nonetheless, could the Steelers give Metcalf a running mate and Aaron Rodgers another target to ensure this season is a successful one. So, what would Pittsburgh give up in a trade with the Commanders? The Athletic's Mike DeFabo notes that a player and pick will be enough for the Steelers to get the disgruntled McLaurin out of Washington. MORE:Bills send familiar face, draft pick to Commanders in Terry McLaurin trade idea Commanders get: 2026 third-round pick and Roman Wilson Steelers get: Terry McLaurin "If the Steelers want to give Aaron Rodgers the best chance to make a run in what could be his final season, the biggest bet they could make would be a dynamic receiving threat behind DK Metcalf," DeFabo wrote. "For more than a year, there have been questions surrounding the WR2 position. "Right now, the team seems interested in seeing how two receivers on rookie contracts — Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson — fill that role. McLaurin would be an instant and massive upgrade, signaling the Steelers really are 'all in' for Rodgers." In Wilson, the Commanders would receive a young wideout who was drafted in the third round last year to grow with Jayden Daniels. As for McLaurin, his potential arrival could turn the Steelers into a dark horse to win the NFC North if their key players on offense stay healthy and play up to the expected potential.

WWE Raw Results August 4, 2025: 5 Takeaways From Post-SummerSlam Show
The Raw after SummerSlam was like the episode to tie up any loose ends following two epic nights at MetLife Stadium. There were two title matches, but no new champions were crowned. Still, there was a lot uncovered. Here are the five biggest takeaways from Raw after SummerSlam 2025. Seth Rollins Names His Faction and Shows Us He's Healthy Seth Rollins is in excellent physical condition—at least visually—and he worked a pretty physical match against LA Knight in the show's main event to prove it. More on that later, but Rollins also named his faction. He, Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed will be known as The Vision. I'd expect merch to land sometime very soon. The show-opening promo from Heyman and Rollins was stellar, though it was interrupted by a clumsily executed rant from Knight. For a guy whose persona is built on one-liners, he gets tongue-tied an awful lot. In any case, he's still majorly over with the fans, and boy is he underrated as an athlete and in-ring performer. The match was decent, and there is likely more to come between him and Rollins later this Lynch is the Greatest Female Wrestler Ever, It's Official Lynch said it during her mic session on Monday, and as she mentioned, a writer for Sports Illustrated said it: she is the greatest female wrestler of all time. For a while, I held that title for Charlotte, but watching Lynch make the most of every position she's in has pushed The Man to the top of the list for me. Lynch is owning this IC title reign, and she destroyed Nikki Bella on the mic on Monday. We've heard a lot of references to Bella's past relationship with John Cena over the years, but Lynch dropped an absolute nuke that seemed to legitimately get under Nikki's skin. Very rarely will you see a bar dropped that elicits the 'holy s###' chant from fans, but this one deservedly did. Take a look at this video. Lynch is doing her job. She is elevating the women's IC title like Gunther did for the men's version, and that's the other thing that has pushed her to the top of my Addressed Brock Lesnar's Return WWE didn't go into great detail, but Michael Cole did read a statement from WWE CEO Nick Khan and CCO Triple H in which they told fans that they called Brock Lesnar a few weeks ago and told him, 'it's time for you to come home.' As you saw on Sunday night, Lesnar took them up on the offer, and his presence immediately delivered what was arguably the pop of the Lee is Coming Back, the Groundwork is Being Laid Did you catch what Lynch said in her mic work? She said, 'me and my hot husband are the greatest wrestling couple of all time.' Rollins is embroiled in a major feud with CM Punk, who is married to…AJ Lee. There is no way WWE will resist the urge to offer Lee an outrageous amount of money to main event Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, or WrestleMania in a mixed tag-team match with her husband vs. Lynch and Rollins. That match is big enough to main event any WWE show, and I have to believe it is coming over the next six to eight Threat is Upcoming for Clash in Paris Before any of that happens, it seems like we're looking at a Triple Threat match for Clash in Paris. Rollins is seemingly on pace to defend his World Heavyweight title against Knight and Punk. The latter interrupted the main event match, and that usually means all three men will wind up battling soon. It's a cool main event, but it doesn't seem like a match that will see Rollins drop the title. They're pushing the 'Absolute Power' concept for The Vision, and it would be weird to have him drop the title less than 30 days after winning it.
