Among the most emotional sequences in the 2016 film was the wedding scene featuring Sushant Singh Rajput as Dhoni and Kiara Advani as Sakshi.
What many may not know is that the actors wore replicas of the actual outfits worn by MS Dhoni and Sakshi at their real wedding in 2010.
The Wedding Look That Captured Reality
In the biopic, Kiara donned a lehenga that mirrored Sakshi's original bridal outfit which is a red and green-toned lehenga intricately embellished with butti work and traditional zardosi embroidery.
She completed the look with real gold jewelry, heavily layered necklaces, and a maang teeka, just like Sakshi did on her wedding day.
Sushant's look as Dhoni was equally detailed. He wore a blue kurta with dark blue pants, topped with a richly embroidered jacket. The ensemble was completed with an orange turban, replicating Dhoni's elegant and understated royal look from the 2010 wedding.
This cinematic attention to authenticity is now being fondly remembered by fans, especially as Dhoni and Sakshi celebrate their wedding anniversary.
A Love Story That Stood the Test of Time

MS Dhoni and Sakshi's story began in Ranchi, where their fathers worked for the same company.
Although they studied in the same school, life took them in different directions. However, fate brought them back together in Kolkata in 2007. At the time, Sakshi was interning at Taj Bengal and Dhoni was staying there with Team India. A mutual friend reintroduced them—and the rest, as they say, is history.
The couple married in July 2010 in a private ceremony. Their daughter Ziva was born in 2015, completing their beautiful family.

Home Entertainment Shah Rukh Khan's new home was once Vashu Bhagnani's promise to wife Puja Bhagnani: 'She asked for a…' Shah Rukh Khan's new home was once Vashu Bhagnani's promise to wife Puja Bhagnani: 'She asked for a…' While Mannat gets a facelift, Shah Rukh Khan shifts to a luxe home built on a promise—and a producer's undying love for his wife. As renovations begin at Shah Rukh Khan's iconic sea-facing bungalow Mannat, the superstar and his family have moved into Puja Casa—a 10,500 sq. ft. four-storey apartment in Mumbai's plush Bandra. But while the rent of Rs 25.15 lakh/month has made headlines, what's more intriguing is the legacy of the home itself. A home built on a promise The apartment, now officially owned by Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh, was originally developed by their father, producer Vashu Bhagnani. In a recent interview, Vashu shared that the building wasn't just real estate—it was a fulfilment of a heartfelt promise to his wife, Puja. 'She had asked for a 1BHK in Bandra. I gave her a whole building,' Vashu recalled. The couple had once lived rent-free in a small flat on Linking Road thanks to a friend. Years later, in 2009, Vashu gifted Puja an entire building in Pali Hill—aptly naming it Puja Casa. Why was it never for sale? 'I had promised myself I would never sell it—only rent it out. It would be my backup in tough times. In film production, you never know when you hit a slump.' Despite partial sales over the years, the unit now housing Shah Rukh remains part of Vashu's legacy. SRK's stay reportedly includes arrangements for staff and security personnel, making the transition from Mannat as seamless as possible. From films to foundations The producer's emotional tribute to his wife didn't end with bricks and mortar. Most of his ventures bear her name, including their production house. Jackky Bhagnani explained why they eventually reverted from Pooja Entertainment to the original Puja Films, 'She told me she never liked when people called her 'Pooja'… If we're building a legacy in her name, we should do it authentically.' (Picture Courtesy: Facebook) 'Norman' fame actor Richard Gere attended the 90th birthday celebrations of the Tibetan spiritual leader , 14th Dalai Lama, at Dharamshala on Sunday. On this occasion, the Hollywood actor Richard Gere, who is also a practising Buddhist, met the 14th Dalai Lama and received blessings from the Tibetan spiritual leader. He kissed the Dalai Lama's hand in admiration and respect as he bowed down to the Tibetan spiritual leader. The actor was seen sitting behind the Dalai Lama. Gere was joined by other dignitaries for the birthday celebrations of the 14th Dalai Lama. The guests were entertained by a traditional dance by the Tibetan community and the followers of the Dalai Lama. The dance marked a joyous celebration of the 14th Dalai Lama's birthday. Meanwhile, Tibetan Buddhist monks living in exile offered special prayers at the Dorjidak Monastery near Shimla at Panthaghati on Sunday morning to mark the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. The occasion was marked by solemn rituals, long-life prayers, and symbolic offerings led by a young boy monk, Nawang Tashi Rapten, recognised as the reincarnation of the Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche, the head of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism . by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Beyond Text Generation: An AI Tool That Helps You Write Better Grammarly Install Now Undo The boy monk also cut a ceremonial cake as part of the celebrations, offering prayers for the spiritual leader's long life. Speaking to on the significance of the day, Tibetan Buddhist monk Kunga Lama expressed both joy and reverence. "As a Tibetan Buddhist, I would say this celebration of the birthday of the Dalai Lama is not only a celebration, but also he is the identity of the Tibetan community, Tibetan unity, monks, and the leader of the whole culture of peace and compassion," Kunga Lama said. "It is our responsibility to carry out what he says as Buddhists. As I already said, he is the identity of the Tibetan community. Another thing I would like to say is that he has always been a guide to the world with compassion and love. Most of us follow his way, what he preaches," he added. He continued, "We are offering prayers here for the long life of the Dalai Lama and also for those who are suffering in the whole of Himachal due to flooding, and also those suffering all around the world. We are trying to follow the Dalai Lama's path. Definitely, it's not only important for me; the Dalai Lama has to continue the lineage not just for me but for the whole world." "The little boy monk here is not only an ordinary monk; he is the reincarnation of Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche, who will be the head of the Nyingma school in the future. He just offered prayers and cut the cake for the long life of the Dalai Lama. On one hand, it is a happy moment for us; on the other, I cannot fully express it, as he is growing old, but we depend on hope," The Buddhist monk added further. The Dalai Lama, born as Lhamo Dhondup on July 6, 1935, in Takster, a small farming village in northeastern Tibet, was recognised as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama at the age of two. He was formally installed as the spiritual and temporal leader of Tibet on February 22, 1940, and was given the name Tenzin Gyatso. The term "Dalai Lama" is Mongolian, meaning "Ocean of Wisdom". In Tibetan Buddhism, Dalai Lamas are considered manifestations of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, an enlightened being who chooses to be reborn to serve all sentient beings. After the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1949, the Dalai Lama assumed full political authority in 1950. He was forced to flee into exile in March 1959 following the violent suppression of the Tibetan uprising. He has since lived in India, along with over 80,000 Tibetan refugees, continuing to advocate for peace, non-violence, and compassion. For over six decades, His Holiness has been a global ambassador of Buddhist philosophy, compassion, peace, and interfaith harmony, continuing to inspire millions worldwide. Celebrations were held across Tibetan settlements in India and abroad, with many also expressing hope that the Dalai Lama's lineage will continue through a recognised reincarnation in the future.
