India vs England LIVE Cricket Score, 4th Test Day 3: Ollie Pope and Joe Root to resume for ENG 225/2 against IND in Manchester
India vs England Live Cricket Score, IND vs ENG 4th Test Day 3 Match Updates: Ollie Pope and Joe Root were unbeaten at the end of Day 2 for England, taking them to 225/2 in the fourth of the five-match Test series at Old Trafford in Manchester on Thursday. The hosts still trail by 133 runs. However, the comfortable position of England in the game can be attributed to the sublime 166-run opening partnership between Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett. While the wicket did have minimal movement, the Indian bowlers sprayed the ball all around, drifting into the pads of the batters consistently and letting the batters get away with easy boundaries. Earlier, India were bundled out for 358 runs in the first innings after England skipper Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bowl first. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan chipped in with half-centuries, and England skipper Stokes shone with a 5-wicket haul after eight years in Test match cricket. (AP Photo) India's bowlers struggled on a changing pitch during a cricket match against England. While they faced unfavorable conditions in the afternoon (bright sun, less swing) compared to England's morning spell (cloud cover, rain), India's poor bowling performance allowed England's openers to build a dominant 166-run partnership. This put England in a strong position, making India's first-innings total of 358 look inadequate. (Read more from Sandeep Dwivedi)

R Ashwin slams India for underutilising Kuldeep Yadav: It's our obsession with batting
Former Indian cricketer R Ashwin slammed the Indian team management for underutilising Kuldeep Yadav during the Test series against England, expressing shock at his exclusion from the fourth Test in Manchester despite injuries to key bowlers like Akash Deep, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Arshdeep on his YouTube channel, Ashwin questioned the team's obsession with batting depth, arguing that the preference for lower-order runs over genuine wicket-taking ability cost India emphasised that the modern game no longer rewards the extra 20–30 runs from tail-enders as pitches have flattened out and bowling firepower is more crucial. Kuldeep's omission, despite being fit and in form, reflected poor prioritisation in team selection. ENG vs IND, 4th TEST DAY 2 SCORECARD | HIGHLIGHTS"If somebody would have told me that Kuldeep Yadav will not be playing any part in the first four Tests, I would have been very very surprised. Unfortunately, it is our obsession with batting, and looking for those 20-30 extra runs. Gone are those days in England, that advantage of 20-30 runs is gone. If your No.7 makes 30 runs, and your No.8 makes 30 runs, you have extra 60 runs. Earlier that 60 runs used to be very useful, because bowlers used to get help from the pitch," Ashwin said.'Blowing my head away'Ashwin questioned India's strategy of playing Shardul Thakur, who got only five overs on Day 2, in which he conceded 35 runs. Ashwin expressed frustration over ignoring Kuldeep in such a setup, especially when bowlers like Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar contribute significantly with the who retired from international cricket last December, argued that India's reluctance to pick an attacking bowler like Kuldeep, even when the batting depth is already strong, defies logic."If you are only planning to give Shardul Thakur this many overs, and expect 20-30 runs from him. I love Shardul Thakur, I like him a lot, but if this is the usage point, why can't you consider Kuldeep Yadav? It is just blowing my head away. I know it seems against the grain because there are three spinners, but it is not that way, Jadeja is a specialist batter for you now. Washington Sundar is also batting well. When your bowlers can bat so well, why are you not bringing an attacking bowler?' Ashwin are in a commanding position in the Manchester Test, as they trail by only 133 runs, responding to India's 358 in the first innings.- EndsMust Watch

A fit Ben Stokes is one of the great all-rounders in the world, says Nasser Hussain
Captaining a bowling attack that is thin on experience, Ben Stokes has shouldered responsibility right through the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy as he once again led from the front with the ball in the first innings at Manchester. The England captain's five-wicket haul helped them restrict India to 358 as the hosts ended Day 2 at 225/2 to take control of the fourth Test. Having undergone a knee surgery earlier in the year, coming into the series there were plenty of doubts with regards to Stokes bowling. In the lead-up to the Test series against India, Stokes played only the lone long form game against Zimbabwe as questions were raised as to whether the all-rounder was undercooked. And former England captain Nasser Hussain said Stokes has been on the money with the ball. 'Against India this summer, I cannot remember him bowling a bad spell. He has been England's best bowler in the series. He now has 16 wickets, the most he has taken in a series in his career, and on Thursday he got his first five-wicket haul for eight years. That stat might have surprised some but Stokes has primarily been the fourth seamer in some pretty good attacks, with the likes of Jimmy Anderson, Stuart Broad and Mark Wood alongside him. If the ball is doing a bit, it is often the front three who get the wickets. If it is not, Stokes is often doing the hard donkey work. He's the one in the enforcer role, banging it halfway down when it's flat. Why do you think he has had so many injuries?' Hussain wrote in his column on Daily Mail. After bowling his heart out at Lord's, Stokes came up with another impressive outing here at Manchester taking the wickets of Shubman Gill, B Sai Sudharsan, Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar and Anshul Kamboj in the 24 overs he bowled. At Lord's, where he was the Man of the Match, he bowled 44 overs to strangle India with the old ball. 'There were a few questions asked before this series about why he didn't go off and play for the Lions because he hadn't spent any time in middle. But this series has shown why he didn't. When it comes to playing at this level, he will always put on a show. He doesn't need more cricket. In this series, his spells have been getting longer and longer. I see that as someone who is very confident in his body,' Hussain wrote. Hussain then went on to add the ultimate tribute, saying with his efforts in the Test series Stokes has put his name alongside past great all-rounders. 'You judge a top all-rounder on whether he can get into the side as both a batter and a bowler. Even if his batting has slightly fallen away of late, Stokes is generally someone who can do that. On Thursday he joined Botham, Garfield Sobers and Jacques Kallis as the only players with 10 or more centuries and five or more five-wicket hauls in Tests. This series has only further proved that a fit Ben Stokes is one of the great all-rounders in the world,' Hussain wrote.
