CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County coroner released the name of a woman who was killed in a pedestrian crash on I-26 and near Mile Marker 209.
According to the Charleston County coroner, 25-year-old Savannah Gamble died on the scene from blunt force injuries from a motor vehicle and pedestrian collision. The accident happened on June 6.
A 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling east on I-26 when the driver struck Gamble, who was attempting to cross the road. The driver was not injured.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is the lead investigative agency.

An Ottawa County judge on Monday sentenced Oosterhouse to between 100 months and 15 years in prison. His driver's license was also forfeited. The pair were charged last August with second-degree murder, manslaughter and reckless driving causing death. According to court documents, on June 25, 2024, a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Oosterhouse and a Dodge Charger driven by Perez were engaged in aggressive 'road rage style driving' while traveling eastbound on Lake Michigan Drive. A eventually occurred between Perez and Oosterhouse, who are accused of driving well over the posted speed limit. That collision caused Perez's vehicle to hit a car in the westbound lanes near Trillium Drive. The head-on crash killed 27-year-old Sha-Tera Coleman of Grand Rapids. Members of the victim's family addressed the court Monday prior to sentencing. During an earlier hearing, an Ottawa County deputy said both men to engaging in a road rage incident for several miles. [Watch in the player above: What to do if you witness a crash] WILLOUGHBY, Ohio (WJW) — A box truck struck a lift-bucket truck parked in downtown Willoughby on Monday morning, ejecting the person inside the lift bucket, according to city police. That person was severely injured and later pronounced dead at a hospital, Willoughby Police Detective Lt. John Begovic told FOX 8 News. Guards All-Star pitcher Emmanuel Clase on paid leave amid investigation Willoughby police and fire units responded just before 10 a.m. to the scene, in front of a jewelry store in the 4100 block of Erie Street in downtown Willoughby, Begovic said. Major road work starting soon on I-90 in Rocky River, Lakewood, Cleveland The box truck was headed north on Erie Street when it struck the extension of the lift bucket as it passed by the work truck, he said. The collision caused the person inside the lift bucket to be thrown out, into a car parked across the street, according to Begovic. Witnesses provided CPR until first responders arrived and transported the person to a hospital, Begovic said. Erie Street was closed off. The crash remains under investigation. ZEELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A person died during a crash in Zeeland Township on Friday, deputies say. It happened around 7:30 p.m., on 88th Avenue near Ransom Street. The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says that they were dispatched to a crash involving two vehicles where one person was thrown from a car. The sheriff's office says that the person who was thrown died from their injuries. Passengers in the other car were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries, deputies say.
