Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan box office collection day 1: No takers for Shanaya Kapoor's debut film that opens at ₹35 lakh
Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan domestic box office collection
As per the report, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan opened in theatres at just ₹35 lakh. The film had an overall 9.92% Hindi occupancy on Friday. Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan also earned lower than Vikrant's last film, The Sabarmati Report (2024). It had opened in theatres at ₹1.25 crore, as per Sacnilk.com.
Shanaya was supposed to make her debut with Bedhadak, but the film was shelved.
Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan review
The Hindustan Times review of the film read, "Shanaya Kapoor makes a confident debut, even if her character (or the story) doesn't give her much to work with. Vikrant Massey, usually reliable, is decent but not at his best. His role as a visually-challenged man had the potential for nuance, but he doesn't quite land it. Zain Khan Durrani, as Shanaya's other love interest Abhinav, is adequate."
"Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan feels like a love letter that never reached its destination. It tries to tug at your heartstrings but ends up playing out of tune. You're left wishing the film had seen its own potential more clearly — instead, it stumbles blindly in search of a spark that never quite ignites," it also read.

Known as the 'Shahenshah' of Hindi cinema today, Big B had once been dismissed as a 'failed newcomer.' But while he eventually conquered the silver screen, his toughest challenge came not from cinema, but from real life, when his company went bankrupt and he was left with debts of nearly Rs 90 crore. From early failures to stardom In the beginning, Amitabh's acting career didn't look promising. Many of his first few films failed to click with the audience. But in 1973, Zanjeer changed everything. The film was a major success and launched him into superstardom. Over the next two decades, he became a name every Indian household knew and loved. ABCL: A risk that went wrong Things changed in the mid-1990s. Amitabh ventured into business with Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL), hoping to make a mark in film production, event management, and entertainment. But the gamble didn't pay off. In an India Today interview, Amitabh described this phase as 'one of the darkest periods' of his career. He shared, 'I can never forget how creditors used to land at our door, be abusive, threatening and demanding, and worse still, when they came for 'kudkee' at Prateeksha, our residence.' ABCL collapsed under financial mismanagement, leaving Amitabh with mounting debts that crossed Rs 90 crore. Live Events Abhishek leaves Boston to stand by his father At that time, Abhishek Bachchan was studying in Boston University. But when he learned of his father's financial struggles, he made a bold decision to leave college halfway. In an episode of Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, Abhishek revealed: 'My father was going through this really rough time. He had started this business called ABCL… I said, I can't be here in Boston when my father doesn't know how he's going to get dinner. And that's how bad it was.' Abhishek further said he felt 'morally obliged' to be by his father's side. When he told Amitabh about quitting college, the actor reportedly called him to his study late one night and laid out the situation: 'Movies aren't working out, the business isn't working out, nothing is working out.' Despite this bleak outlook, Amitabh never gave up. With the support of his wife Jaya Bachchan and son Abhishek, he slowly rebuilt his career from scratch. From bankruptcy to blockbuster again Amitabh went back to acting and took on roles in films, TV commercials, and shows like Kaun Banega Crorepati to repay debts. Over the years, he cleared all his loans, proving once again that resilience can bring even legends back from the brink. Today, the Bachchans are among the most respected families in Indian cinema. When Sanjay Kapoor said he doesn't want to advise Shanaya before her debut: 'She's seen my ups and downs'
As Shanaya Kapoor gears up for her much-anticipated acting debut with Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan on July 11, her father, actor Sanjay Kapoor , once candidly spoke about how he doesn't feel the need to sit her down and offer advice—because she's lived the reality of the industry through his journey. "She's intelligent, and she's seen ..." In an earlier conversation with Timeout With Ankit, Sanjay reflected on the unpredictable nature of showbiz and how Shanaya has grown up observing both the highs and lows of their family's career graph. 'She's intelligent, and she's seen how I fought it out,' he said. 'It's not a bed of roses. One day you're at your peak, the next day you're sitting at home. But you shouldn't stop chasing your dream because of that fear.' Shanaya, who was initially set to debut under Karan Johar 's banner (a project that eventually didn't materialize), is now making her mark not just in Bollywood but also in the South with Vrushabha, a big-budget Telugu-Malayalam film opposite Mohanlal. "It becomes overconfidence" Sanjay also opened up about the nervousness actors feel before stepping onto a set, something he believes is natural, even for veterans. 'If you're not nervous, it means you're taking your stardom for granted. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Why seniors are rushing to get this Internet box – here's why! While he acknowledged that it's a better time to be in the film industry today, with more opportunities and changing dynamics, he emphasized that passion, awareness, and hard work remain non-negotiable. As Shanaya's debut film Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan (co-starring Vikrant Massey ) prepares to hit the screens this Friday, the Kapoor family has come out in full support.
