Lucknow: The MangoBaba app developed by a group of farmers in Malihabad is offering fresh and carbide-free Malihabadi Mangoes right at one's doorstep at an affordable rate. Former director of CISH Shailendra Rajan, the brainchild behind the app, said: "The mangoes delivered through the app are sourced directly from farmers who use techniques certified by the Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture (CISH).
These techniques include bagging, scientific harvesting, pest control, pruning and a specially designed harvester that prevents bruising while plucking the fruit, minimising the chance of spoilage. These practices help produce naturally safe, high-quality mangoes." He said though the app was launched in 2020 during the pandemic it didn't get much traction.
"The app has evolved over the years with a better user interface, real-time tracking, and payment options, including COD (cash on delivery) and online payment.
The app features on Google Play Store. Though the app has no direct govt intervention or formal price regulation, transparency and fairness in pricing are maintained," Rajan said.
He said with India Post as the logistics partner, deliveries can be made to far-off places as well. Rajan said mangoes offered on this platform are sold at almost the same price as those in the market. However, the value addition lies in packaging; each order is provided in a box with a protective foam net, a feature rarely seen on other platforms.
"Mangoes are first properly graded and then priced accordingly. This ensures better quality control and more value to the customer. Every mango is traceable" he said.

RailOne super app launched: How to book IRCTC tickets, track trains & more

In a move to make train travel more seamless and user-friendly, Indian Railways has introduced a new 'SuperApp' called RailOne. This all-in-one platform consolidates all railway services into a single app, aiming to simplify travel for India's 7 billion annual railway passengers. The RailOne app offers a unified solution for all your travel needs. Available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, the app enables users to easily book tickets, order food on board, check train status, track PNR status, and more—all within one interface. RailOne – Unified experience for railway passengers For years, train travellers, particularly those from rural or semi-urban regions, have been using multiple apps to manage bookings, check live train updates, and lodge complaints. The RailOne app eliminates that complexity by offering a single sign-on feature. This allows users to access all key services without logging into different platforms repeatedly. 'This app brings together services previously available on multiple Indian Railways apps into a single, easy-to-use interface,' said the Ministry of Railways at the launch. The app uses an OTP-based single sign-in system for quick and secure access. RailOne App: One app, multiple features RailOne is a rebranded and upgraded version of the SwaRail App, which was rolled out a month ago. Since then, the app has already seen over 1 lakh downloads on the Play Store. Key features of the RailOne app include: Booking reserved and general tickets Live train tracking and coach position Onboard food ordering Parcel and cargo enquiries Access to R-Wallet for payments Lodging complaints via Rail Madad The app also includes a 'Do You Know' trivia section that provides interesting facts about Indian Railways, such as details about the first passenger train or India's longest railway route. Users can select between Hindi and English as their preferred language for app usage. How to get started with the RailOne app? Here are the simple steps to use the RailOne app: Download it from the Play Store or App Store Register using a mobile number or log in with your Rail Connect or UTS credentials Browse features like ticket booking, train search, coach position, order food, parcel inquiry, and more The app interface is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, catering to both tech-savvy users and first-time digital passengers. Indian Railways: Three major upgrades to train ticket booking in 2025 Along with the RailOne launch, Indian Railways is also upgrading its ticketing and reservation system with three major reforms to enhance efficiency and passenger convenience: 1. Advanced chart preparation (8 Hours before departure) Existing charting time is 4 hours before departure Now, charts will be prepared 8 hours in advance For trains departing before 2:00 PM, charts will be finalised at 9:00 PM the previous night This will help passengers know their waitlist status earlier and plan accordingly 2. Tatkal bookings are only for verified users Starting July 1, 2025, Tatkal tickets will only be available to verified users Verification will be done via OTP-based authentication Users must verify their identity using Aadhaar or DigiLocker documents Full rollout expected by the end of July 2025 3. Enhanced reservation system (Coming December 2025) Being developed by CRIS (Centre for Railway Information Systems) System capacity to increase tenfold Able to handle 150,000 reservations per minute Capable of processing 4 million enquiries per minute Support for a multilingual user interface Special booking features for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities), students, and patients Final Thoughts With the launch of the RailOne app and major enhancements to its booking infrastructure, Indian Railways is taking a significant step toward digitising and modernising train travel across the country. Whether it's booking a Tatkal ticket, ordering food, or checking live train updates, passengers can now access everything in one place, making train journeys more convenient and connected than ever before.

New WhatsApp update lets businesses identify chats that require manual responses

WhatsApp has announced a new feature for business account users in its latest Android beta update (version 2.25.20.5), allowing them to filter chats that require manual replies. The update is currently available to some beta testers through the Google Play Beta Program. WhatsApp tests AI-handoff filter to help businesses reply to complex queries(Unsplash) This feature, known as the AI-handoff filter, is designed to help businesses quickly find conversations where WhatsApp's automated responses fail to resolve customer queries. The filter appears as a dedicated tab for WhatsApp Business users and lists all chats that need human attention. According to WABetaInfo, a trusted source for WhatsApp updates, the feature helps streamline the transition from AI-powered replies to human responses. "This filter is specifically designed for WhatsApp Business accounts and helps organise chats that require a manual message," WABetaInfo reported. The AI-handoff filter becomes active only when AI replies are enabled on a business account. These replies use artificial intelligence to answer frequently asked questions, drawing information from the business's profile, catalogue or policies. However, not every customer query can be handled by automation. In cases where the AI struggles, such as complex questions or issues outside predefined data, the conversation is flagged and listed in the AI-handoff tab. This allows business teams to quickly step in and provide support, ensuring better customer satisfaction. How the AI-handoff filter works Once enabled on the WhatsApp business account, the AI-handoff filter gathers all chats requiring manual attention into a dedicated tab, making them easily accessible in one place. This allows business users to quickly identify and respond to unresolved conversations without scanning through the entire chat list. According to WABetaInfo, 'Businesses also retain full control over the configuration of this filter, including how long a chat should remain listed before being cleared.' This flexibility helps teams tailor the feature to suit their specific workflows. The filter is only visible when AI-powered replies are active on the account. Designed to serve as a bridge between automation and human intervention, it ensures that queries beyond the scope of AI are promptly flagged and handled by a human agent. Gradual rollout to more users The AI-handoff filter is currently available to selected beta testers, but WhatsApp plans to expand access in the coming weeks. To try the feature, beta users can install the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android from the Google Play Store.
