With Asia Cup In Jeopardy, Pakistan Cricket Board Staring At Whopping Loss Of Rs...
The Board is hoping to earn another 1.16 billion rupees (INR 35 crore) from the Asia Cup and 7.77 million rupees through other international cricket events.
"The revenues from these two major sources (ICC and Asia Cup) are very important for the financial health of Pakistan cricket," one well-informed insider said.
He said the uncertainty over the schedule and venue for the Asia Cup has increased as PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi did not travel to Singapore for the ICC meetings last weekend.
Naqvi, who is also the federal interior minister, instead took part in the AGM virtually.
According to the insider, PCB CEO Sumair Ahmed, who had gone for the ICC meeting, "didn't get positive responses" from either the BCCI or the boards of Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan over attending the ACC meeting called on July 24 in Dhaka to finalise the Asia Cup arrangements.
"The PCB met with plenty of resistance to the ACC scheduling the meeting in Dhaka. India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Oman and few other associate member boards were adamant about not travelling to Dhaka," one insider added.
He said the discussions on the sidelines of the ICC meeting don't augur well for the Asia Cup being held on schedule in September as the BCCI is not willing to send its representative to Dhaka.
The ACC is currently headed by Naqvi.
Originally India was scheduled to host the Asia Cup in September but due to the existing stand-off with Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack, the chances of the regional event being moved to UAE are high.
Sumair was also sent to Dubai earlier this year to attend the Champions Trophy final ceremony but due to some "miscommunication", he was not a part of the officials who were on stage for the presentations.
Interestingly in the expected revenue given in the budget for the fiscal year, the PCB has included 2.5 billion rupees as the estimated revenue from the next edition of the Pakistan Super League.
The PCB's total budget for the fiscal year is around 18.8 billion rupees.

Trump may remove Elon Musk from Golden Dome project, US government looking alternative for SpaceX, this company may get chance, not Google, Microsoft

Trump may remove Elon Musk from Golden Dome project, US government looking alternative for SpaceX, this company may get chance, not Google, Microsoft Golden Dome Project: The fight between Elon Musk and United States President Donald Trump has been going on since the richest man in the world termed Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill' a wasteful expenditure. Now, it is expected that President Trump may remove Musk's company SpaceX from the Golden Dome project — the missile defence system which aims to protect America from foreign air attacks. The Trump administration has already started exploring new options for the USD 175 billion project, Reuters reported. Amid the fight, Jeff Bezos' company, Amazon's Project Kuiper may get a chance. However, other defence companies are also in the race. The report also stated that SpaceX has not shown interest in the project. What Is The Golden Dome Project? On the lines of Israel's Iron Dome, the US also wants to build a powerful air defence system that protects the country from any areal threat such fighter jets, drones and missiles. Notably, Trump announced about the project a week after the start of his second term. According to several media reports, a plan has been made to launch over 1200 satellites for the defence system. With this the US is preparing to detect and destroy the enemy's missiles from space. Out of the 1200 satellites, 400 to 1,000 satellites will be used for tracking of enemy missiles. 200 interceptor satellites will be prepared to shoot down those missiles in space itself. The air defence system will be capable of intercepting and destroying missiles launched from any part of the world. Trump has also claimed that the Golden Dome will be able to intercept attacks from space. Has The Work Started To Launch The Project? It is worth noting that the Golden Dome Project will cost around USD175 billion. The US President has already approved USD25 billion for the project. On July 17, the approval was taken from the Senate, and Space Force General Michael Guetlein was given command of the project. Guetlein will form a team in 30 days, the project's design in 60 days and the entire plan in 120 days. Who Is Better Between SpaceX And Amazon? SpaceX's experience with government contracts and its deployment of over 9,000 Starlink satellites in space make it the frontrunner. Despite launching only 78 satellites to date, Amazon's Project Kuiper has been invited by the Pentagon to participate in a defence project. This has showcased a major shift in government strategy, including technology companies alongside established defence contractors. Scientific approach can help raise UP's agri production 3 times: CM Yogi
1 2 Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday expressed concern over the fact that only 26% of the farmers apply scientific approach in carrying out farming activities in UP which was otherwise bestowed with natural conditions suitable for agriculture and agricultural research. Addressing a gathering at the national workshop on 'Vikshit Krishi, Viksit UP', organised by UP Council for Agriculture Research (UPCAR) on its 36th foundation day, Yogi said that the productivity of agriculture can potentially be increased by three times of what exists at present. UP accounts for 11% of the total agricultural land and 20% of the total food grain produced in the country. Yogi said that improvement in productivity can be increased only through consistent efforts to boost scientific research and its robust application in the field. "We have swathes of fertile agricultural land, sufficient water resources irrigating almost 86% of the total area. Yet the productivity is low," he said, adding that only those states and countries have progressed which focused on research and development. UP, he said, not only has the potential to feed the country but the whole world. "Agriculture, horticulture and vegetable production…we can do a lot in these areas," the CM said, stressing on the need to step up agricultural research by factoring in agro-climatic zones. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like G+35 Tower | 2, 3 & 4 BHK Homes in Navi Mumbai L&T Panvel Enquire Now Undo "This can play a decisive role in determining the speed of development of not only the state but the whole country," he said. Yogi said that PM Narendra Modi has fixed a target of turning India into a developed country by 2027 having an economy of the size of USD 30 trillion. "But for this the states will have to play their roles. UP will have to become a Vikshit Pradesh. And for this we have to look for all possible opportunities to do so," he said, affirming that the country was moving steadily ahead in achieving the target of becoming a USD 5 trillion economy. Yogi said that the state govt has fixed the target of making UP a USD 1 trillion economy by 2029. He said that the state has conceptualised a detailed plan covering all key sectors including agriculture and infrastructure which would usher in development. "At the same time, we need to have short term goals before achieving the target of becoming a developed economy by 2047," he said, exhorting agriculture universities and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) to focus in that direction. The CM asked the agriculture research institutes and universities to step up efforts to arrest migration of farmers from agricultural activities. At the same time, he said, more work was required to be done for improvement in seed variety to boost production.

Opposition protests over SIR, disrupts Lok Sabha work
The INDIA bloc floor leaders' meeting on Tuesday decided to broad-base the issues to be taken up in Parliament this week rather than sticking to the demand for an "immediate discussion" on the Pahalgam-Operation Sindoor issues which, they think, the government is disinclined to hold before PM Modi returns from his foreign tours next week. Therefore, the meeting chose to focus on poll-bound Bihar's SIR issue on Tuesday, which RJD particularly wanted to raise in the Houses. This led to Opposition protests and washout of the entire morning session in the Lok Sabha with two forced adjournments after 11 am and 12 noon even as Opposition MPs staged a protest at the main entrance of Parliament House by denouncing the SIR. At the Opposition bloc's floor leaders' meeting, Rahul Gandhi is learnt to have promised them to soon give a presentation on how the electoral process was "manipulated" in Maharashtra and how the same can happen in Bihar through SIR.
