Timothée Chalamet makes SAG award history as youngest best actor winner
Timothée Chalamet, a French-American actor, just accomplished something monumental!
For his performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, Timothée won his first-ever SAG Award for Best Actor, becoming the youngest male actor to do so at the age of 29.
Prior to Timothée's historic victory, the record was held by Nicolas Cage, who won Best Actor in 1995 for his performance in Leaving Las Vegas at the age of 32.

"This was five and a half years of my life," the celebrated actor stated in his acceptance speech. Playing with this unmatched talent, Mr. Bob Dylan, a real American hero, was an honor of a lifetime, and I gave it my all."
"So, I'm really appreciative. It's a bit more fuel, but it doesn't mean that. It's a bit more ammunition to continue. I'm very grateful," he continued.
A Complete Unknown previously received nominations for eight Academy Awards at the 97th Academy Awards and won six British Academy Film Awards.
The Oscar race is completely changed by the SAG results. Chalamet, Fiennes, Domingo, and Brody are all nominated for the 2025 Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role, along with Sebastian Stan for The Apprentice.
For Chalamet, getting the actor is a significant accomplishment. The young star is well-known for consistently losing all of the major awards he has received, despite his immense potential. Chalamet made light of his nominations for the SAG, Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and more during a Saturday Night Live monologue last month.
Attending these award events is such a wonderful experience, and it's a huge honor. But I just. Hold. Lose. And every time, it becomes difficult to act as though it doesn't hurt," he said to the audience in the live studio.
Chalamet's performance as Elio in Call Me by Your Name earned him a nomination for the same honor in 2017. But in Darkest Hour, Gary Oldman defeated him.
Chalamet's victory is significant, but it also creates SAG Award history. At 29, Chalamet has become the youngest actor to win the Best Actor award.

Natalie Portman backs "Israeli" anti-war protests, shares Gaza aid link
Hollywood actress Natalie Portman has drawn renewed attention to her stance on "Israel" and Palestine after sharing a series of Instagram Stories amplifying ongoing "Israeli" protests against the government. Among the posts was a call to donate to humanitarian efforts in Gaza, a rare move from a high-profile "Israeli"-American celebrity amid the ongoing war. Portman, who was born in Jerusalem and holds dual citizenship, shared content featuring demonstrators in Tel Aviv demanding an end to the war and the return of "Israeli" captives held in Gaza. One of the posts specifically pointed followers to a campaign collecting donations for Palestinian civilians affected by the genocide, a gesture likely to spark both praise and criticism across the political spectrum. The Oscar-winning actress has long held a nuanced position on the "Israeli"-Palestinian issue. In 2018, she famously declined to attend the Genesis Prize ceremony in "Israel", citing her distress over recent events and her refusal to appear as endorsing then-Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. 'Like many Israelis and Jews around the world, I can be critical of the leadership in Israel without wanting to boycott the entire nation,' she wrote at the time. Portman has previously criticized the "Israeli" nation-state law as "racist" and expressed concern about policies that, in her view, undermine equality and democracy. Yet, she has also remained firmly opposed to the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement and has maintained her cultural ties to "Israel", including directing a Hebrew-language film in 2015.
