Georgia football continues recruiting surge with 4-star DL addition
The Georgia football team is one of the hottest programs in the country right now on the recruiting trail, and it had quite a day on Monday. The Bulldogs picked up three commitments in total, with two coming from the 2026 class, and one coming from the 2027 class. The first 2026 prospect to commit to Georgia was four-star defensive lineman PJ Dean. Then later in the day, another four-star DL decided to play for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs as Preston Carey announced his commitment.

'BREAKING: Four-Star DL Preston Carey has Committed to Georgia, he tells me for @Rivals,' Hayes Fawcett said in a post. 'The 6'5 300 DL chose the Bulldogs over Florida, Auburn, & Rutgers.'
Florida, Auburn and Rutgers were all recruiting Preston Carey hard, but they were no match for Kirby Smart and the Georgia football team. The Bulldogs are on another level on the recruiting trail right now.
After announcing his commitment to Georgia, Carey had a short message to share:
'To be the best in the country, you have to play with the best in the country,' he said.
Carey is a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports' composite rankings. He is the #309 player in the 2026 recruiting class, the #36 DL and the #48 player in the state of Florida. Carey currently attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. The in-state Gators recruited him hard, but Carey chose rival Georgia.

The 2026 Georgia football recruiting class is shaping up to be another special one. After this commitment from Preston Carey, the Bulldogs have the #2 recruiting class in the nation, according to 247Sports. Georgia now has commitments from one five-star, 18 four-stars and six three-stars. Oregon Ducks commit Koloi Keli wins OL MVP award at UA Maui Camp
The Oregon Ducks have had a long list of highly-rated players commit to the program over the past couple of weeks, including 5-star Immanuel Iheanacho and 5-star safety Jett Washington. It's understandable that during that stretch, a commitment from a 3-star might fly under the radar, but OL Koloi Keli is doing what he can to make some noise. Keli, one of Oregon's newest additions, turned heads at this weekend's Under Armour Maui Camp, winning the offensive line MVP award. Keli is rated as the No. 87 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class, and one of three OL commits that the Ducks added in the past week, alongside Iheanacho and 4-star OL Tommy Tofi. Both Tofi and Keli were previously committed to the California Golden Bears before backing off of their commitments and joining the Ducks. Advertisement Keli stands at 6-foot-3, 290 pounds, and projects to play either guard or center down the road in Eugene. 2027 prospect Braylon Williams includes Longhorns in his top 20
Over the last few weeks the Texas Longhorns have been busy on the recruiting trail. On Saturday they continued to get good news when 2027 prospect Braylon Williams announced his top 20 schools heading into his junior campaign. The Longhorns were one of the teams to make the cut with plenty of time to build their relationship with Williams. While Williams would be a great addition to the Longhorns 2027 class, they do face competition. The other programs on his list are Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Iowa, Florida State, and Arizona State. Although the Longhorns have become a staple in the College Football Playoff, that is a tough list to go to battle against. Advertisement The heavy interest comes as no surprise. Currently, the Lamar High School product is ranked as the No. 21 linebacker in his class and the 42nd-best player from Texas, according to 247Sports. That could change depending on the numbers he puts up in his junior campaign. At the moment, the Longhorns only have one commitment in the 2027 class. That is four-star recruit Taven Epps. A defense with Epps and Williams would create a lot of headaches for defensive coordinators. For Steve Sarkisian and his staff, the focus now is getting Williams to campus for a visit. As Williams ways all his options, the Longhorns will be a program to watch. They have excelled at developing linebackers and have the advantage of being located in Williams's home state. If he can continue to build on his success, the Longhorns' desire to recruit him to the Forty Acres will likely be fulfilled, and he will continue to rise.
