Mitchell has been a staple of the Fever since being selected second overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft. She made the All-Rookie Team in her debut season and has since earned back-to-back All-Star selections.
With Caitlin Clark missing seven games this season, including the last two, Mitchell has stepped up and kept Indiana's offense moving. The Fever now sit at 8-8 after Friday's win.
Indiana returns to action Tuesday night, as they go against Minnesota Lynx, before opening a five-game homestand with a matchup on Thursday against the Las Vegas Aces.

Sophie Cunningham Receives Blunt Message From NBA Superstar on Tuesday
Sophie Cunningham Receives Blunt Message From NBA Superstar on Tuesday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. While the Indiana Fever are playing in the Commissioner Cup Final on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Lynx, Indiana guard Sophie Cunningham is still going viral for her controversial comments on WNBA expansion. Advertisement On Monday, WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert announced that in the coming years, several cities will be gaining teams in the league, with the three latest being Detroit, Cleveland, and Philadelphia. While these are all prominent markets in the NBA and have been for years, Cunningham made it very clear that there isn't much of draw to going to Detroit or Cleveland and the league should take more of interest in where the players would like to go, pointing out Miami, Nashville, and Kansas City as three possible cities. 'I also think that you want to listen to your players. Like, where do they want to play?' Cunningham said. 'Where are they going to get excited to play and draw fans? And I do think that Miami would've been a great one, like everyone loves Florida. Nashville is an amazing city, Kansas City, amazing opportunity, there's a huge arena downtown that no one's using.' She continued, 'It's kind of a hard situation, but man, I don't know how excited people are to be going to Detroit or [Cleveland].' Advertisement Her remarks even prompted a response from Cleveland Cavaliers superstar Donovan Mitchell, who made it clear he disagreed with her take on the city. 'Cleveland in the summertime,' Mitchell posted on social media, accompanied by fire emojis. As of now, Portland and Toronto are set to debut WNBA teams in 2026, as previously announced. Cleveland will join the league in 2028, followed by Detroit in 2029 and Philadelphia in 2030. These expansion efforts follow the successful launch of the Golden State Valkyries this season. The team has already drawn strong fan support and performed well on the court, holding a 9–7 record in their inaugural WNBA campaign. Caitlin Clark News Turns Heads on Wednesday
Caitlin Clark News Turns Heads on Wednesday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It's been an eventful sophomore campaign for Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark. Despite battling multiple injuries, Clark has continued to impress on the court — earning a selection as a WNBA All-Star Game captain. She's missed eight games so far this season, including Tuesday night's Commissioner's Cup Final against the 13-2 Minnesota Lynx. Still, the Fever pulled off a statement win, defeating Minnesota 74-59. Advertisement Clark has been sidelined by a quad injury for five games and a groin injury for the last three. Even with the missed time, her on-court production has remained elite, averaging 18.2 points, 8.9 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. On Wednesday, though, the buzz around Clark shifted off the court — and into the sneaker world. After recently debuting her first Nike Player Edition shoe — the Kobe 5 Protro PE — it was officially announced that Clark's highly anticipated signature sneaker will hit the market in spring 2026. While fans had been waiting for a release timeline, they now have one — and the hype is only growing. According to "Front Office Sports," Clark's signature line is projected to be a major force in the sneaker industry. It could rank among the top five basketball signature franchises and may eventually be worth as much as $150 million. Caitlin Clark has quickly become one of the most prominent athletes in all of professional sports since being selected No. 1 overall out of Iowa, where she cemented her legacy as one of the greatest college basketball players of all time.
