ALBAWABA – Adidas, the renowned German athletic apparel and footwear company, is being sued by a former employee in a racism case. April Burton, a former Adidas employee, is currently suing the company, alleging she was called a 'monkey.'Burton claims she was fired immediately after reporting the incident to management. Adidas is now facing a racism lawsuit, with Burton seeking approximately $6.2 million in compensation.
Burton claims that the Human Resources department referred to her as 'Ape' in internal communications while she was a full-time employee.

She says she filed a complaint after discovering the term, but the HR department allegedly responded by saying 'Ape' was simply an abbreviation of her name, April.Burton decided to sue Adidas while still employed, and as a result, the company reportedly fired her immediately.
Burton is also alleging that racism and sexism are common practices within Adidas management. According to her, Roland Auschel, the company's Chief Sales Officer, previously made several inappropriate comments about singer Beyoncé's body and skin tone. Emirates drops second limited edition collection of luggage made from upcycled aircraft interiors - ‘Aircrafted by Emirates'
After the sellout success of Aircrafted by Emirates' launch collection in 2023, Emirates is introducing a second, limited edition collection of handmade luggage and bags crafted from upcycled materials from retrofitted aircraft. Aircrafted by Emirates 2025 Collection is now available to purchase at Emirates Official Store and the 167 collectors' items are expected to sell out within days. Like the previous collection which raised more than USD 17,000 – most proceeds will be donated to children in need via the Emirates Airline an opportunity to own a unique piece of aviation history, the second collection of Aircrafted by Emirates features 3 new trolley bag styles – the most popular item from the launch collection. Two trendy backpack styles are also available, as well as two handbags – one of which is made from the fur of the Emirates' Captain seat. Prices of each handmade item range from USD 80 to USD materials used to craft the collection have been gathered from the iconic Emirates A380, as well as from Boeing 777 aircraft. From 63 retrofitted aircraft so far, more than 30,000 kg of materials have been repurposed and assigned to creating luggage and bags. The materials used range from aluminium headrests to pure leather from First and Business Class seats, and the sofas in the A380 onboard lounge. All fabrics are freshly laundered in a facility, then further deep cleaned by hand, leather-conditioned and thoroughly disinfected before being sewn into unique pieces. Brand new lining is added to the bags, along with functional zippers. Some bags even feature actual Emirates' seatbelts as the Aircrafted bags were designed and handmade by Emirates tailors in a dedicated cabin workshop, at Emirates Engineering facility in Dubai. Emirates has a team of 14 'tailors', officially titled as Engineering Maintenance Assistants, whose usual role involves fixing and stitching any tears in the interiors of Emirates vast aircraft fleet. The success of Aircrafted by Emirates and Aircrafted KIDS, means that an entire team of tailors are now dedicated full time to the Emirates Retrofit Project In August 2022, Emirates began the largest known fleet retrofit project, as part of a multi-billion-dollar investment to elevate customer experience. Emirates aims to upgrade the entire interior cabins of 219 of its Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft – two of the largest commercial aircraft types in service today. Managed entirely by Emirates' Engineering team, the retrofit will see nearly 4,000 brand new Premium Economy seats installed, 728 First Class suites refurbished and over 5,000 Business Class seats upgraded to a new style and design when the project is complete.

Gold steady as investors await US trade updates, central bank meetings
Ammon News - Gold prices were little changed on Monday as investors monitored developments in U.S. trade talks and awaited potential market-moving catalysts, including the U.S. Federal Reserve's policy meeting scheduled for next week. Spot gold held its ground at $3,352.19 per ounce, as of 0250 GMT. U.S. gold futures were steady at $3,358.70. "Dollar has made a subdued start to the week, which has left the door open for gold to post gains early doors with tariff deadlines looming large," KCM Trade Chief Market Analyst Tim Waterer said. "The closer we move towards the key August 1 deadline without any new trade deals emerging, the more likely gold is to start fancying another run to towards the $3,400 level and perhaps beyond." At its meeting later this week, the European Central Bank is expected to hold interest rates steady at 2.0% following a string of cuts. Last week, Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said he still believes that the U.S. central bank should cut rates at its policy meeting next week. Elsewhere, spot silver edged 0.1% higher to $38.22 per ounce, platinum added 0.3% to $1,425.11 and palladium gained 0.2% to $1,243.47. Reuters

Oil prices little changed as investors eye impact of new sanctions on Russia
Ammon News - Oil prices were little changed on Monday as traders assess the impact of new European sanctions on Russian oil supplies while they also worry about tariffs possibly weakening fuel demand as Middle East producers are raising output. Brent crude futures climbed 6 cents to $69.34 a barrel by 0344 GMT after settling 0.35% lower on Friday. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was at $67.51 a barrel, up 17 cents, following a 0.30% decline in the previous session. The European Union approved on Friday the 18th package of sanctions against Russia over the conflict in Ukraine, which also targeted India's Nayara Energy, an exporter of oil products refined from Russian crude. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Friday that Russia had built up a certain immunity to Western sanctions. The EU sanctions followed U.S. President Donald Trump's threats last week to impose sanctions on buyers of Russian exports unless Russia agrees a peace deal in 50 days. U.S. tariffs on European Union imports are set to kick in on August 1, although U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said on Sunday he was confident the United States could secure a trade deal with the bloc.
