Piramal Enterprises Chairman Ajay Piramal on Monday said the asset under management (AUM) of the NBFC firm is expected to cross Rs 1 trillion during the current financial year on the back of strong performance. The consolidated AUM grew by 17 per cent to Rs 80,689 crore, exceeding the stated target of 15 per cent growth during FY25, Piramal said while addressing shareholders at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). "With strong performance across our retail and wholesale businesses in FY2025, we are now well positioned to build upon the platform and leverage the investments that have been made. As our three-year transformation journey nears completion, we look ahead with optimism," he said. In FY2026, he said, "we expect to further build on the momentum, growing our total AUM by about 25 per cent to exceed Rs 1 trillion, with growth AUM projected to rise about 30 per cent. Retail lending is expected to contribute 8085 per cent of total AUM." During the 2024-25, Piramal Capital & Housing Finance Ltd was renamed Piramal Finance Ltd. and converted from an NBFC-Housing Finance Company (HFC) to an NBFC-Investment and Credit Company (ICC). Piramal Finance is classified as an upper-layer NBFC and ranks among the top 10 private-sector NBFCs in India. "We have received RBI approval for the merger of Piramal Enterprises and Piramal Finance. The NCLT process is underway and expected to conclude by around September 2025," he said. During FY25, the NBFC had undertaken global borrowings programme, with a total raise of USD 815 million. Of this, USD 550 million was secured through social loans and sustainability-linked bonds. External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs) now constitute 10 per cent of total borrowings, he said. He further said, "Our growth business profits, coupled with monetisation of embedded value, are expected to drive robust earnings in FY2026. Centre okays ₹3,667 cr plan for road, infra development in Himachal Pradesh

The Union government has approved the annual plan of Rs 3,667 crore for the construction and up-gradation of roads, bridges and related infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh for the financial year 2024'25, said Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh on Monday. The plan includes construction of bridges, road widening, installation of crash barriers and other works on national highways across various districts of the state, he said in a statement issued here. The minister said that he recently met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and discussed important issues related to the state, appraising him that presently the state has around 1,200 kilometres of roads under the national highway network and requested to enhance central assistance for their maintenance and improvement of road and other related works. He said that while the state had submitted an annual plan of Rs 2,600 crore for the financial year 2023'24, but received only Rs 269 crore, which was insufficient. However, for the financial year 2024'25, the state government proposed a plan worth Rs 3,667 crore, which has now been approved by the Centre in June. Vikramaditya Singh informed that he had also raised the issue of constructing a tunnel beneath Jalori Jot in Kullu district and the Central Government has given in-principle approval and sanctioned Rs 1,452 crore for this tunnel. The 4.2 km long Jalori Jot tunnel under the Jalori pass in Kullu district would provide all-year connectivity to Banjat and Anni areas. He said that the construction of this tunnel would not only boost tourism in the area but also benefit lakhs of residents in the region. He said that due to repeated landslides near Brauni Nala in Shimla district on National Highway-5 (Hindustan-Tibet Road), the stretch has suffered serious damage and to address this, the Centre has approved Rs 135 crore for the construction of a bridge at this location. Apart from this, the Central government has sanctioned Rs 1,385 crore for the four-laning of the Kala Amb Paonta Sahib on Dehradun road. It includes land acquisition and pre-construction activities. The PWD minister expressed his gratitude to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and the Central government for approving significant funds for the state. He said he was hoping that strong coordination between the Centre and the State would continue in the future. Singh said that during his Delhi visit, he also met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and raised the issue of the proposed Bhubu Jot tunnel and road connecting Mandi and Kullu districts and requested that the road leading to the tunnel be declared a strategically important defence route. He said that the state was hopeful of a positive outcome on this vital road project in the near future. Once completed, the road would reduce the distance between Pathankot and Kullu by 40 to 50 kilometres which would boost tourism and also benefit local residents as well as the Indian Army.
