Shweta Tiwari once revealed she had to hand over Rs 93 lakh flat to Raja Chaudhary as a part of the divorce settlement.
Popular television actress Shweta Tiwari has often been in the headlines for her personal life. The actress, who married actor Raja Chaudhary in 1998, legally separated in 2007 after a five-year legal battle and paid a hefty cost. The actress filed a domestic violence case against him for seeking a divorce. Having said that, Shweta Tiwari once sat for an interview with a media portal after their divorce was granted.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Shweta Tiwari expressed immense relief upon the finalisation of the divorce. However, the report also revealed the financial cost she had to bear to end the marriage. As part of the divorce settlement, Shweta reportedly had to hand over her one-bedroom flat, valued at approximately Rs 93 lakh, to Raja Chaudhary.
The report claimed that the legal team initially proposed joint ownership of the property between Raja and their daughter, Palak Tiwari. However, Raja allegedly insisted on sole ownership, which left Shweta shocked. She stated that Raja was willing to 'sacrifice' their daughter for the property, demanding the flat in exchange for granting the divorce.
The settlement also included Raja's access to their daughter. While he couldn't meet their daughter when he wished to, Shweta was bound to allow Palak to meet her dad whenever the latter wanted to.
Shweta stated, 'I was shocked when Raja said, 'I will sacrifice my daughter for property. Give me the flat and I will give you a divorce."
Raja Chaudhary and Shweta Tiwari tied the wedding knot in 1998. Their nine-year marriage came to an end in 2007, with Shweta citing domestic violence and Raja's alcoholism issues as reasons for the separation. Their daughter, Palak Tiwari, has since been living with Shweta.
Professionally, Shweta Tiwari is a familiar face on Indian television. She has captivated audiences with her performances in shows like Parvarrish, Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, Begusarai and Main Hoon Aparajita. The actress has also been a part of popular reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Nach Baliye and Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Raja Chaudhary, on the other hand, is currently seen in the new season of Tenali Rama. In the historical comedy-drama show, he essays the role of Chaudapa Raya. The Bhojpuri actor rose to fame after his stint in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss season 2, where he was declared the runner-up of the show. Later, he has also been a part of various other television shows, including Aane Wala Pal, Chandramukhi, Daddy Samjha Karo, Your Honour, Tenali Rama and Adaalat.

Mahhi Vij was asked not to open up about IVF journey that cost Rs 8 lakh, decided to freeze eggs at 32: ‘I had twins, lost one of them'

Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali have been married since 2011 and last year, their daughter, Tara, turned 5. In a new interview, Mahhi opened up about her IVF journey and shared that her body went through a lot while she was trying to get pregnant. She shared that the process of IVF cost almost Rs 8 lakh, and while she was in the process of all of this, she had to get multiple injections during the day and some of them were quite painful. She also shared that after getting pregnant, she was advised not to speak about IVF and pretend that she got pregnant naturally, but she chose not to do that. In a chat with Hauterrfly, Mahhi said that she 'always wanted to be a mother.' 'I have been very open about my IVF journey. When I was doing it, people would say, 'don't declare that you have gone through IVF, people might think that you can't have children, just say you had the baby naturally'. I said 'but why not?' If I am a celebrity who is very open about it, it's not about me or my partner or if we can't have children. It's somehow not working so we have taken this route and it's our child, it's my thing and his thing, we made an embryo and it's our baby,' she said. Mahhi said that she started visiting the doctor when she was 32 and realised that she was not getting pregnant naturally and did not want to 'waste my time.' It was then that she decided to freeze her eggs so they could proceed on the IVF route calmly. The first cycle was cancelled, and soon after Mahhi decided to take a break from this for 4 years. I had taken a break for 4 years. Then I conceived by IVF only,' she said. When asked about the expenses of the process, she said that the entire process cost around Rs 8 lakh. 'I used to get so many injections. I would inject one on my thigh myself, one on my tummy. The one on my bum would hurt so much that I couldn't sleep on that side. But I wouldn't cry. I used to think something good is happening. I was very positive and I said, I wanted a partner for myself,' she said. Mahhi also shared that when she conceived, she had twins but she lost one of the embryos during the pregnancy. 'I had twins and both of them were in separate sacs. In the other sac, the baby was not growing so then the doctor told me that you pray that it gets out on its own because sometimes, it is possible that it might drag the other one out as well,' she shared and added, 'I saw blood in the washroom and I panicked. The doctor said, 'don't panic, good this happened, the healthier one has survived now pray for that child'.'

‘Thugs of Hindustan': Lalit Modi, Vijay Mallya sing Sinatra's ‘I did it my way' at lavish London bash; video goes viral

At a glittering London soirée hosted by Lalit Modi, a moment straight out of a movie unfolded: the former IPL commissioner and controversial tycoon Vijay Mallya belted out Frank Sinatra's iconic I Did It My Way to a cheering crowd. The clip, posted by Modi on Instagram, quickly caught fire online – drawing both laughs and raised eyebrows, given the legal baggage both men carry. The bash was anything but low-key. With over 310 guests flown in from across the globe, it was a full-blown spectacle of glitz and nostalgia. Among the familiar faces was former RCB star Chris Gayle, who posted a story with the duo, writing, 'We living it up. Thanks for a lovely evening,' and tagging both hosts. 'Had an amazing night with 310 friends and family… Thank you to one and all who attended this evening and made it one of the most special nights for me,' Modi wrote in the caption, cheekily adding, 'Hope this video doesn't break the Internet. Controversial for sure. But that's what I do best.' A post shared by Lalit Modi (@lalitkmodi) The Internet certainly paid attention. While some viewers said, calling them 'Desi Boys. English Style,' others went a step further with comments like 'Thugs of Hindustan.' One person said, 'Wow that seems like a whole lot of fun.' Lalit Modi, once hailed as the mastermind behind the IPL's global success, has remained in the UK since 2010 after facing suspension from the BCCI. The charges against him include alleged financial irregularities, bid manipulation, and money laundering, involving massive sums under scrutiny by Indian authorities. Vijay Mallya, once dubbed the 'King of Good Times,' left India in 2016 amidst mounting allegations of financial fraud tied to his now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines. Declared a 'fugitive economic offender' by Indian courts, Mallya's legal troubles in the UK continue. Just last week, his appeal against a bankruptcy ruling was thrown out by the British High Court. He's previously claimed that Indian authorities have already recovered assets worth over Rs 14,000 crore, more than what he allegedly owes.
