Siddhant Chaturvedi Says 'Ananya Panday Was Always An Actress' After Anurag Kashyap's Remark On Her Growth

News183 days ago
Siddhant Chaturvedi says Ananya Panday's growth had nothing to do with his 'struggle' comment.
Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi has broken his silence on filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's recent remark suggesting that actress Ananya Panday matured as a performer following the much-discussed 2020 'struggle" comment that reignited the nepotism debate.
In an interview with ETimes, Siddhant downplayed any personal credit for Ananya's evolution, emphasizing her own talent and perseverance. 'I don't think it's my contribution. Independently, she is a very strong girl, very, very talented, and a nice person to be with," he said.
The two actors have previously shared screen space in Gehraiyaan and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, both of which sparked conversations around their chemistry and onscreen compatibility. Reflecting on their collaborations, Siddhant said, 'I have done two films with her and I look forward to doing more. I don't think your growth happens because of anyone. Either you are an actor, or you are not. She was always an actress. It's just that she got those opportunities and she excelled."
He added warmly, 'Whenever we have collaborated, it has worked. I think we are each other's lucky charm."
Siddhant's response comes after Kashyap recently observed that Ananya had displayed remarkable growth and self-awareness post the backlash from the 2020 roundtable discussion, where Siddhant's pointed remark had gone viral: 'Jahaan humare sapne poore hote hain, wahi inka struggle shuru hota hai" (Their struggles begin where our dreams come true).
The comment, aimed at the privilege gap between outsiders and star kids in the industry, became a defining moment in the ongoing nepotism discourse in Bollywood.
Meanwhile, Siddhant is gearing up for the release of Dhadak 2, the much-anticipated follow-up to the 2018 romantic drama Dhadak. Directed by Shazia Iqbal and backed by Dharma Productions, the sequel stars Siddhant alongside Animal breakout star Triptii Dimri. Unlike the first film, which was an adaptation of Sairat, Dhadak 2 promises a fresh storyline rooted in a different socio-political backdrop, exploring themes of love, class divide, and rebellion.
Dhadak 2 is slated to hit theatres on August 1.

Dharma Productions In Talks With People Media Factory For Teja Sajjas Mirai In High-Profile Collaboration?

New Delhi: The buzz around Mirai, the upcoming cinematic spectacle from People Media Factory starring Teja Sajja, is only getting louder. From its visually striking posters to the gripping teaser, every glimpse of the film has sparked curiosity and anticipation among audiences eager to dive into the world of Mirai. Slated for a grand theatrical release on September 5, 2025, Mirai is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about pan-India films of the year. In a major industry development, strong whispers suggest that Karan Johar's Dharma Productions might soon join hands with People Media Factory for Mirai. Dharma, known for its strategic associations with mega blockbusters like Baahubali, 2.0, and the upcoming Devara, could potentially amplify Mirai's reach and cultural footprint if the collaboration materializes. A source close to the development revealed, 'If Dharma comes on board, it could catapult Mirai into a whole new league. It will expand its reach and visibility nationwide and beyond. With Karan Johar's keen eye for mass appeal and Dharma's formidable distribution muscle, Mirai has the potential to become a true nationwide event film.' Leading the cast is Teja Sajja, fresh off his pan-India success with HanuMan in 2024. The film is directed by Karthik Gattamneni, a filmmaker celebrated for his visual storytelling, and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad, who have built a reputation for backing ambitious cinema. Mirai promises to deliver a cinematic experience that blends mythical elements, intense action, and cutting-edge VFX, telling the story of a brave warrior chosen to guard nine sacred scriptures. The film also stars Manoj Manchu and Ritika Nayak, whose compelling performances add layers to this high-stakes narrative. The musical score, composed by Gowra Hari, is expected to elevate the storytelling with a rich, emotional soundscape that matches the film's epic tone and scale. People Media Factory has already made a strong start to 2025 with the success of Sunny Deol's Jaat. With Mirai and several other big-ticket films lined up—including Prabhas's horror-comedy The RajaSaab—the production house is clearly aiming to dominate the box office conversation for the rest of the year.

Meet actress whose bold, intimate scenes in this film left her sister worried, movie became a hit, earned Rs..., actress is...

Sometimes, when actresses end up doing bold intimate scenes, they gain unprecedented fame and name. However, the dark side of this fame is that these stars often get stereotyped for a particular role. Interestingly, Bollywood has an actress who, though she did a bold role and some jaw-dropping intimate scenes, was never typecast. In fact, she broke all the norms and played diverse characters in her other projects. This Actress Did Bold Intimate Scenes The actress we are talking about is someone who started her career with a thriller, only to move on to classic sad-romance. She did horror movies, comedy, period psychological dramas, and what not. If you are wondering who this actress is, then let us tell you—we are talking about none other than Triptii Dimri. Triptii started her journey in 2017 with the film Mom, which featured the late iconic actress Sridevi. In the following years, she worked in movies like Laila Majnu, Bulbbul, Qala, and more. When Triptii Dimri's Sister Was Worried Due to Her Intimate Scenes Triptii Dimri also featured in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal. Her chemistry with Ranbir Kapoor was loved by the audience. However, there were certain bold scenes that made Triptii even more famous than before. A drawback of those bold scenes was the shady comments that filled Triptii's social media accounts. Reading all those comments left her sister worried. In an interview with the YouTube channel Too Filmy, Triptii said, 'After a lot of bad comments, I stopped watching it. She (Triptii's sister) used to read every comment till late at night and then get stressed. She understood that it will eventually affect. She said—no matter what you do good, people will talk about it. Do what you believe in.' Triptii recalled her tough time and said, 'I got the support of good friends. My sister was always with me. When I could not clear the audition, I used to call her crying, and she would say—you have to keep doing this. Don't listen to the noise, don't listen to relatives or people around. Just keep doing it and see if it works for you or not. If you are not happy, then this is the time when you step back.' Coming to Triptii's work front, the actress will be seen in Dhadak 2.
