Heliot Ramos, Giants stun Rangers with wild walk-off 'Little League home run' after late errors
The San Francisco Giants pulled off a ridiculous "Little League home run" on Sunday afternoon that left the Texas Rangers — and just about everyone else watching the matchup in the Bay Area — absolutely stunned.
The Giants, thanks to a walk-off hit from Heliot Ramos, beat the Rangers 3-2 at Oracle Park after a wild final play. After a couple of bad errors by the Rangers, Ramos had his single turned into a game-winning "home run."
Ramos hit a dribbler back at Rangers closer Luke Jackson, though Jackson sailed the throw well past first base and up the right-field line after bare-handing the ball. So Ramos immediately kept going and made his way to third. First baseman Jake Burger, however, also missed the mark when he tried to throw Ramos out at third.
So Ramos took off for home and made it safely with plenty of time to spare. That sparked a massive celebration at the stadium. Ramos was even hit with a Gatorade dump behind home plate while he appeared to try to make sense of what he just pulled off. It was officially a hit, two errors and a run.

'Tell me you've seen that one before!' NBC Sports Bay Area announcer Duane Kuiper said.
'Well, not since my oldest son was 10 years old,' analyst Mike Krukow responded.
The hit was Ramos' second of the day. The 25-year-old holds a .234 batting average with 10 RBI and three home runs this season, his fourth with the franchise. The win pushed the Giants to 19-10 and gave them back-to-back wins over the Rangers after dropping the opening game of the series Friday.
While Ramos' hit shouldn't have been anywhere near good enough to push the Giants to the win — he was the first batter up in the inning, and it didn't even make it past the mound — the Rangers fell apart at the worst time. The loss is sure to sting for quite some time.

BALTIMORE—The Baltimore Orioles might be one of Major League Baseball's biggest disappointments this season, but they still have more than enough talent to play spoiler. The Blue Jays were hit around early and often by their division rival. Starter Chris Bassitt allowed six runs over 2 1/3 innings while Brendon Little was just as bad with four earned in an 11-4 loss on Monday night at Camden Yards. The poor pitching saddled the Jays with their second consecutive loss and their first series-opening defeat since June 20. It also allowed the Detroit Tigers to pull within one win of the American League lead after the Jays beat them in three out of four games over the weekend. 'My mechanics were off, I just could not throw any pitch where I wanted to throw it,' said Bassitt, who has allowed five homers over his last two starts. 'My cutter was basically nonexistent, curveball was OK, sinker was all right. I just couldn't locate.' There was a scary moment in the top of the ninth when George Springer was hit on the side of the head by a 96-m.p.h. fastball. The ball initially struck Springer's upper shoulder before ricocheting off the ear flap of his helmet. The veteran slugger crumpled to the ground and remained there for several minutes while he was checked out by the Jays' medical staff. The pitch clearly wasn't intentional as Orioles right-hander Kade Strowd appeared distraught on the mound following the incident. Springer was still being examined following the game and the extent of his injury remained unknown. 'That's the worst part of baseball for any side, when a pitch gets thrown that high,' Schneider said. 'You don't think about baseball, you think about the human. It's scary, it happens, it sucks. 'He was alert the whole time … which is a good thing. But you hate seeing that happen to anyone at any time.'
