Texas A&M right-handed pitcher announces return for junior year in 2026
Montgomery, Texas, native Weston Moss added to numerous sources of good news for the Aggie baseball program on Monday by making his decision to remain in College Station official via social media. Before facing the sickness in 2025, Moss recorded a 3.19 ERA and 50 strikeouts through 48 innings of work. In 22 appearances on the mound, he also logged a 6-3 record and one save, while also holding opponents to a .215 batting average.
With eight of his teammates selected in the 2025 MLB Draft, Moss was also on the board and awaiting his name to be called. According to TexAgs reporter Ryan Brauninger, he took numerous calls from franchises in the Major Leagues, but did not feel like anything was worth leaving Aggieland.
While his stellar numbers on the rubber stand out, his fiery personality and heart make him one of the most beloved Aggies on the roster.
Heading into a season in which great bullpen performances will be needed, his announcement sparks much excitement throughout the Aggie fan base. A prime example of his clutch ability came when he tossed six shutout innings and six strikeouts in relief against Kentucky on March 28.
Following his outstanding outing facing the Wildcats' lineup, second-year head coach praised Moss for his work on the mound for the Maroon and White.
Ranked as the No. 6 right-handed pitcher in the state's 2023 class by Perfect Game USA, Moss made waves for his mentality and swagger. The No. 17 overall prospect in Texas reached a 95 mph velocity as a junior.
When he arrived on Texas A&M's campus, he secured a 3-0 record with a 4.56 ERA and 26 punchouts. Moss improved those numbers last year and instantly displayed a knack for setting hitters down and dominating lineups in the most competitive conference in the country.
His return for Earley's club in 2026 will provide an exhilarating personality on the mound for the Aggies in a much-needed position. Texas A&M's bullpen has faced a plethora of challenges over the last year and will need all the help it can get against the powerful lineups in the SEC.

On Monday, On3/Rivals released their latest recruiting update, and Beaver was one of the biggest risers. After initially being rated as a 3-star and outside of the On300 and the No. 19 QB in the class, Beaver rose to No. 44 in the nation, and the sixth-best QB in the class. This is not the first big ratings bump that Beaver has seen. Shortly before he committed to Oregon, he was moved from the No. 71-ranked QB in the nation, per 247Sports, to the No. 17 QB. Former Wisconsin basketball forward signs professional contract
Former Wisconsin basketball forward Markus Ilver signed a deal with the University of Tartu men's basketball team on Monday. Located in Tartu, Estonia, the pro squad competes under the University of Tartu Academic Sports Club umbrella and suits up against opponents in the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League and the Korvpalli Meistriliiga. The organization is responsible for over 25 Estonian League Championships and nearly 20 Estonian cup titles. Advertisement Following a four-year stint with the Badgers in Madison, Ilver will now travel to compete in his home country. A native of Tallinn, Estonia, Ilver arrived at UW after a pair of high school seasons, one at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio, and one at Massanutten Military Academy in Virginia. Ilver played 72 total games from 2019-25, logging a career-best 27 appearances as a junior during the 2023-24 slate. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 1.3 points and 0.9 rebounds in 5.2 minutes off the bench in a depth role. On Dec. 22, 2024, Ilver dropped a career-best eight points in a win over Detroit Mercy. Weeks later, he played a career-high 10 minutes against Minnesota and knocked down a pair of 3-point looks in a 21-point triumph. Ilver becomes the second former Badger to sign a professional contract to play overseas this offseason, joining forward Carter Gilmore. Nebraska basketball freshman scores 20 to lead Iceland to win over Slovenia
Husker freshman Leo Curtis capped off the Group D series play on Monday with his best game yet in the U20 FIBA EuroBasket Tournament. He scored a team-high 20 points and hauled in a team-high 11 rebounds to help Iceland to a 76-74 win over Slovenia. Curtis eclipsed his previous best game by three points and two rebounds. He shot 6-of-11 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the free throw line in the win. He also commanded the boards, securing a game-high 11 rebounds to earn his first double-double of the tournament. Curtis scored 15 points in the first half, helping Iceland control the game over Slovenia early. Though Slovenia clawed its way back in the fourth, erasing a 14-point deficit, Iceland held off the comeback to earn the win. Curtis also scored 11 points in the team's loss to France on Sunday and hauled in eight rebounds. He finishes the Group D series with 48 points and 28 rebounds across the three games; both lead the team. Curtis also leads the team in steals (4) and blocks (8). Iceland finishes third in the Group D standings and await their seeding in the Round of 16. The playoffs are set for Wednesday on the FIBA YouTube channel.
