UK-Ireland box office: Fantastic Four: First Steps holds top spot as Naked Gun, Bad Guys 2, and Jurassic Rebirth trail behind

Disney's The Fantastic Four: First Steps retained the top spot at the UK-Ireland box office in its second weekend, pulling in an additional £3.1 million. This brings its cumulative total to £15.4 million. The film has already outperformed five other Marvel Cinematic Universe titles and is expected to soon surpass the final UK-Ireland earnings of Ant-Man (£16.3m), Iron Man (£17.4m), and Ant-Man and the Wasp (£17.8m). I recognize a Mother move when I see one. #FantasticFour #ScarletWitch The Naked Gun debuts strong but falls behind in the rankings Paramount's The Naked Gun opened with £1.82 million across 632 sites, averaging £2,880 per venue. A few site results are still pending. The film's debut edges past comparable comedy titles like Rush Hour (1998) and Nativity 3 (2014), both of which also opened at £1.81 million and ended with lifetime box office figures of £7.4 million and £7.6 million respectively. Despite the promising start, The Naked Gun could not overtake The Fantastic Four: First Steps at the top of the chart. Animation and franchise films show strong holds The Bad Guys 2 from Universal saw a modest 19% drop in its second weekend, earning £1.33 million and reaching a cumulative £4.9 million. Although unlikely to match the £13.7 million earned by its 2022 predecessor, it remains a solid performer. Also from Universal, Jurassic World Rebirth dropped just 20% in its fifth weekend, earning £1.27 million. With a total now at £31.6 million, it stands as the fifth-highest-grossing film in the Jurassic Park series. It may still catch up to 2022's Jurassic World: Dominion, which ended with £35.1 million. Superman, horror entries, and global titles round out the charts Warner Bros.' Superman fell from second to fifth, earning £1.26 million on its third weekend—a 34% decline. Its total now stands at £24.3 million, trailing only three films from the previous DC Extended Universe lineup. Sony's horror film Bring Her Back, directed by the Philippou brothers, opened with £499,877 from 499 cinemas, with previews lifting its total to £1.2 million. Other horror entries like I Know What You Did Last Summer and 28 Years Later added £195,150 and £94,671 respectively to their totals, now at £2.5 million and £15.4 million. Yash Raj Films' Saiyaara, an Indian romance, held impressively with only a 3% drop, adding £489,484 to surpass £2 million, making it the year's highest-grossing Indian film in the UK-Ireland market. Other noteworthy entries included Warner Bros.' F1: The Movie, which added £485,798 in its sixth weekend, taking it to £20.8 million. Smurfs added £353,000 (total £3.8 million), while How To Train Your Dragon continued to perform with £184,568, crossing £22 million. #FantasticFour grossed $24.4M in domestic previews 💰 Biggest preview night of the year Even long-running titles such as Lilo & Stitch remain strong in cinemas, adding £58,000 in its 11th weekend to reach £36.9 million. The Fantastic Four: First Steps continues its box office dominance as it heads toward breaking more MCU records in the region.
