Benjinup: 66yo passenger seriously injured after car rolls multiple times on Donnybrook-Boyup Brook Road
Police are investigating a serious crash where a car rolled multiple times before coming to a rest in a field in the South West on Thursday afternoon.
A Toyota HiLux utility, allegedly driven by a 19-year-old man, was heading south on Donnybrook-Boyup Brook Road in Benjinup when it is believed to have rolled multiple times about 5.15pm.
It was reported to police that the car 'reportedly crossed to the incorrect side of the road, left the carriageway, and rolled multiple times before coming to a rest in a field'.
A 66-year-old male passenger was seriously injured in the crash. He has since been transferred to Royal Perth Hospital.
Police said the young driver was taken to Bunbury Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
Major crash investigators are probing the circumstances of the incident and appeal for anyone to contact crime stoppers with information.

Man charged with manslaughter over fatal crash in Forrestfield, Perth following alleged pursuit
A man has been charged with manslaughter over a fatal car crash that occurred just minutes after he allegedly fled police. A white Nissan Navara collided with a blue Ford Falcon at Hale Rd and Tonkin Hwy in the Perth suburb of Forrestfield just after 10pm on Wednesday, police said. The Falcon driver, a man, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene. An injured female passenger in the same car was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital. 'This is a very tragic incident and our thoughts are with the victim's family, friends and anyone that's affected by this devastating crash,' Detective Superintendent Gary Saunders said. 'Another innocent life has been lost on our roads through the alleged reckless and dangerous acts of another driver.' Prior to the crash, police had tried to the pull the Navara over after spotting the vehicle in Wattle Grove, Saunders said. 'It will be alleged the Nissan failed to stop and a short evade incident occurred,' Saunders, from the Major Crime Division, said. 'Due to the erratic driving of the vehicle, police terminated the evade less (than) one minute after it began.' Police allege at one point in the chase the Navara driver, who was wanted for questioning over an ongoing investigation, crossed onto the wrong side of the road and into incoming traffic. 'We deemed that that's too much of a risk to public safety to continue with the evade so it was discontinued,' Saunders said, adding police turned off lights and sirens and pulled back to normal road speed. 'Approximately three minutes (after ending the chase) the accident occurred.' Police allege the accused 'failed to stop' at the traffic light-controlled intersection before colliding with the Falcon. 'The Nissan Navara utility spun in the collision, struck a traffic control light before coming to rest on a stationary police vehicle that was parked at the intersection,' Saunders said. 'This police vehicle was not involved in the earlier evade incident.' Saunders said officers provided immediate first aid and made a quick arrest. The Navara driver was injured in the crash and taken to RPH. 'In this incident, I will say that the police followed policy and procedure — we don't believe their actions contributed (to) this at all,' Saunders said. A 26-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter, reckless driving to escape pursuit, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and no authority to drive. The accused was refused bail and is due to appear in Midland Magistrates Court on Thursday. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers.

Firework used in Inner West Sydney restaurant arson as police search for suspect caught on camera after separate fire
Detectives are investigating after a restaurant in Sydney's Inner West was lit up in an arson attack involving a firework. CCTV was released on Thursday following an incident in Marrickville which saw a restaurant on Tuohy Lane lit up on Friday morning, May 30. About 1am, emergency services were called to the restaurant following reports a fire had erupted in the restaurant's courtyard. The blaze was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW and a crime scene was established. Specialist police also attended the scene. "Initial inquiries revealed accelerant and an explosive device – most likely a firework – was used to light the fire at the restaurant," NSW Police said in a statement. Police were also told the restaurant had been the target of a similar attack the previous night. Investigators have also released the image of a man they seek to question about the Marrickville arson and a separate arson in Ettalong, on the Central Coast. A short time after 1.30am on Friday, August 9 last year, emergency services were called to Memorial Avenue at Ettalong Beach, following reports of a fire at a tobacconist. "The blaze was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW and a crime scene was established which was examined by specialist police," NSW Police said in a statement. The man is described as being of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, about 185cm tall, and of medium build with black, curly, shoulder length hair, and wears glasses. He was also seen driving a grey Toyota Hilux at a nearby service station around the time of the Ettalong arson. Anyone with information about the identity of the man or either incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
