Institute of Management Technology Hyderabad inaugurated ABHYUDAY 2025 – Management Orientation Program (Batch of 2025–27). The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Mr Challa Nag, Head of TCS Hyderabad, Dr Vanitha Datla, Vice Chairperson of Elico Ltd, and Prof (Dr) Baharul Islam, Director, IMT Hyderabad.
The tone for the new academic year was set by Dr Baharul Islam in his opening address, which welcomed the incoming batch and emphasized the institute's strong culture of discipline. He stated that discipline would not just be encouraged but expected, as it lays the foundation for professional conduct and academic excellence. He urged students to cultivate a 'keen-to-learn' attitude, stay curious, and continuously evolve in their journey. 'Learning is not limited to classrooms; it's a habit of the mind. Discipline in thoughts, habits, and effort will define your journey here,' he stated.
Dr. Vanitha Datla delivered a powerful talk that placed the current management education in the context of global realities. She addressed the geopolitical changes shaping economies and societies and highlighted the importance of staying informed, agile, and adaptable in an increasingly complex world. She emphasized how technology is evolving rapidly and urged students to embrace change proactively. Dr. Datla also celebrated the rising 35% women's representation in the batch, underlining the importance of inclusive growth and the role of diversity in shaping strong institutions and leaders.
We were also pleased to hear from Mr. Challa Nag, Head of TCS Hyderabad, who brought with him nearly 30 years of wisdom from the tech industry. A TCS veteran since 1995, Mr. Nag has excelled in delivery, CRM, and global leadership roles. He spoke at length about how technology is reshaping industries across all verticals. He walked students through the evolution from ATMs to mobile banking, from basic AI applications to agentic AI – autonomous AI agents that deliver end-to-end enterprise solutions. He emphasized the significance of cloud computing, IoT, and cybersecurity, urging students to learn tech and understand where and how it can be used responsibly. He reinforced the idea that personal and organizational values are what sustain us through disruptions. 'Promise what you can deliver, and deliver what you have promised,' he said, encouraging students to build a strong, authentic personal brand.
ABHYUDAY is a thoughtfully designed two-week orientation program that helps first-year students transition into the PGDM curriculum. It offers a mix of academic primers, interactive sessions, team-building exercises, speaker series, and community engagement through the Community Connect program. These modules are designed to build confidence, context, and clarity for students coming from diverse educational and professional backgrounds.

Eminent Speakers including; Challa Nag, Head of TCS, Hyderabad; Dr Vanitha Datla, Vice Chairperson & Managing Director of Elico Healthcare Services Ltd; Saketha P, CEO & Co-Founder of SmartPharma360; Advocate Mobashshir Sarwar, an eminent legal expert in the field of education and constitutional law; Professor Stephane Mechoulan, Associate Professor at Dalhousie University, Canada; CA Aparna Surabhi, Chief Financial Officer at Caliber Technologies Pvt. Ltd.; Rajesh Menon, Vice President & Head of Global Business Services at CrowdStrike; Partha Pratim Dasgupta, Senior Fellow, Technology Innovation and Development Foundation (IITG-TIDF), Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati; and Dr Gautam Sinha, former Director of IIM Kashipur and former Vice Chancellor of IMS Unison University, featured prominently during the 10-day program, sharing invaluable insights and setting the tone for a transformative learning experience that would help new batch of students to propel as future business leaders. ABHYUDAY 2025 also witnessed an outbound activity where students participated in team-building exercises and adventure sports, reinforcing camaraderie, and leadership skills essential for their managerial roles ahead. The Hyderabad Chapter of Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) hosted a vibrant and prestigious Curtain Raiser event for JITO Connect 2025, its flagship national summit scheduled to be held from October 3rd to 5th, 2025, at HITEX and HICC, Hyderabad. This power-packed evening witnessed the official launch of key summit verticals and the glamorous unveiling of The Bridal Story, a luxury wedding exhibition curated by the JITO Ladies Wing. JITO Connect 2025 is projected to be the biggest edition to date, spanning over 8 lakh sq. ft., hosting more than 1,000 business stalls and attracting over 2 lakh visitors. The summit will bring together more than 50,000 changemakers from across India and the globe, including entrepreneurs, policymakers, and innovators. It promises an enriching mix of global speaker sessions, startup showcases, business networking platforms, cultural presentations, and sectoral focus zones such as Artificial Intelligence and innovation-driven enterprises (JIIF and JITEM). The Curtain Raiser was held in the presence of JITO Apex leadership: Chairman Prithviraj S. The event witnessed the formal unveiling of the summit blueprint and opened bookings for stalls and sponsorship opportunities. One of the highlights of the evening was the launch of Biz-Connect under the JITO Business Network (JBN), the announcement of the JITO Golf Cup, and the introduction of the Jain Pavilion – all designed to foster youth empowerment, innovation, and future-ready leadership. Adding glamour to the evening was a vibrant fashion show, setting the stage for the official launch of The Bridal Story. Promising to be one of the most extravagant and unique wedding exhibitions, The Bridal Story will travel across cities and countries showcasing opulent bridal fashion. Designers Deepthi Reddy, Wrickie Angrish, Rosy Ahluwalia, and Pallavi Jaipur showcased their creations, offering a taste of the luxurious experience in store. The event was driven by the spirited JITO Hyderabad team led by Chairman Rohit Kothari, Chief Secretary Lalith Chopra, Treasurer Vishal Anchaliya, Vice Chairman & TNAPTS Zone Convenor B. L. Bhandari, Co-Convenor Sushil Sancheti, and Event Coordinators Ronak Singhi and Ankit Bhutoria. With its focus on Aarthik Sudradhata (economic empowerment), Shiksha (education), and Seva (service), JITO continues to foster sustainable business practices and community development.
