MP ready to change policies to attract industry, says CM Mohan Yadav
Yadav emphasised that the Madhya Pradesh government is not only prepared to establish industries and boost investment but is also willing to make necessary policy changes if required. Highlighting the state's potential in the garments and textile sector, he reiterated the government's commitment to both investors and workers at every level.
It is noteworthy that during the Global Investors Summit held in February 2025, the Madhya Pradesh government introduced the New Textile Policy–2025, which includes several provisions to attract investment in the sector. These include offering 10–40 per cent investment promotion assistance on plant and machinery, 5–7 per cent interest subsidy on loans, and up to ₹1 crore for infrastructure development. The policy also promises ₹50 lakh in financial assistance to investors establishing apparel training institutes in the state.
The Chief Minister also highlighted Madhya Pradesh's competitive electricity tariffs, solar energy capacity and major power projects, assuring that the state has sufficient electricity for industries.

All India Radio station to begin soon in Ujjain: MP CM Mohan Yadav
New Delhi [India], July 8 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Tuesday that the state's Ujjain district will be getting its very own All India Radio (Akashvani), after he called on Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L Murugan in Delhi. CM Yadav said that the in-principle approval has been granted for setting up an Akashvani station, and requested for early commencement of the Akashvani centre in view of the upcoming Simhastha 2028, read an official statement from the Chief Minister's office. 'Union Minister Murugan assured support and said the necessary procedures would be initiated. Until the Ujjain studio is constructed, arrangements will be made for broadcast through the Indore Akashvani Centre,' the statement added. After meeting with various union ministers in the national capital, CM Yadav informed that the foundation of a state-of-the-art rail coach manufacturing plant by BEML Limited, Bengaluru (a Government of India undertaking) will soon be laid in Raisen district. According to the statement, the project involves an investment of around Rs 1,800 crore, with participation from the Government of Madhya Pradesh, Ministry of Railways, and the Ministry of Defence. CM Yadav said he has invited Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to lay the foundation stone and held detailed discussions on the importance of the plant. CM Yadav also shared that the Madhya Pradesh government is undertaking major initiatives in renewable energy, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision. In his meeting with Union Minister for Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi, CM Yadav discussed ongoing projects and expressed optimism about future progress. He highlighted that the upcoming solar parks with a total capacity of 4,200 MW will mark a significant milestone in the state's renewable energy journey. Additionally, collaboration with Uttar Pradesh is underway to develop 2,000 MW of solar power, with an agreement for mutual energy exchange every six months between the two states. (ANI)

Madhya pradesh rapidly develops urban infrastructure and promotes sustainable city growth
Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav said on Tuesday that infrastructure is being rapidly developed in MP's cities. This will help meet the needs of the growing urban population. Prosperous and developed cities will become the cornerstone of the state's inclusive growth. To realise this vision, the MP Growth Conclave is being organised. Centred around the theme "Next Horizon: Building Cities of Tomorrow", the conclave will bring together leading figures from India's real estate sector to discuss the blueprint for urban development under the mission of Viksit Madhya Pradesh @2047. The conclave is being held on July 11 at the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore. MP's urban economy is growing rapidly. The state has four cities with populations exceeding one million, and seven cities are included under the central govt's Smart Cities Mission. Urban infrastructure projects worth Rs. 72,000 crore are currently underway, with proposals for additional projects worth Rs. 88,000 crore in the pipeline, the CM said. The state has established a strong reputation for cleanliness. Urban areas contribute 35.55% to the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). There is strong investment potential in the housing sector in MP. Over 8.32 lakh affordable houses were already constructed, and 10 lakh new houses are under development with an estimated investment of Rs. 50,000 crore. The state also has a high-quality workforce available for the execution of real estate projects. Urban areas in MP have seen significant infrastructure expansion, including 6,000 kilometres of roads, 80% piped water supply coverage, and 100% sewerage systems. A total of 23 civic services have been digitised and made available through online platforms, and building permits are issued through a centralised portal. Currently, 17,230 urban infrastructure projects are being implemented across the state. For environmental sustainability, projects worth Rs. 2,800 crore are underway to improve urban cleanliness, and another Rs. 2,000 crore is being invested in waterfront development. To enhance urban mobility, projects worth Rs. 21,000 crore are being executed for expanding transportation systems. The state is also promoting electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce air pollution and minimise the carbon footprint of petroleum fuels. As part of this effort, 552 electric buses will be deployed across major cities. The Electric Vehicle Policy 2025 has been introduced to support this transition, Yadav added.

Energy police stations will be opened in six districts of Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal: If things go well, energy police stations will be opened in six districts of Madhya Pradesh. The talk about opening energy police stations has been going on for more than a decade. Now, the energy department has sent a proposal in this regard to the govt. The proposal was also put forth before the Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on July 2, when the CM reviewed the works of the energy department. Sources said that an energy police structure will be established in the state. As per the proposal, in the first phase, one special electricity police station will be set up in each of the six major cities, including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Rewa, and Ujjain. In the coming years, these police stations will be established at all district headquarters. These police stations will provide security to inspection teams during checking campaigns, conduct surprise inspections, prepare case diaries, file FIRs against accused under the Electricity Act, and monitor court proceedings to ensure the protection of DISCOM property and recovery of dues under the Recovery of Dues Act. "The proposal is yet to get a final nod from the govt. It is aimed at putting a check on power theft. Personnel from the home department will be deployed," Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited, Avinash Lawaniya told TOI. Sources said that distribution losses in the state are far higher than the losses reported in other states like Gujarat. Distribution loss means the energy which is purchased and supplied but could not be billed by the DISCOM. Barring one West DISCOM, the energy losses reported by the two other DISCOMs, central and east, are far above the normative or allowable losses decided by the regulator, said sources. All these moves, including the installation of smart meters, are aimed at reducing the losses, thus reducing the expenses of the DISCOMs, added sources.
